While shutting off an exterior faucet, the pipe connection broke, and water flooded out of the wall. We shut off the main water valve and called Rotorooter. It was Sunday afternoon, but they promised a service person would arrive by 6 PM, and Marion arrived shortly before that. He carefully cut away the wallboard inside a closet and found the broken pipe, which was still leaking slightly. After some discussion, he closed the valve a bit more, cut the pipe and capped it off with a screw-on cover. He cleaned up thoroughly and agreed to return when we could get the local water company to shut off the water at the street. He was very professional and reassuring. We are very pleased with Rotorooter's plumbing service and would recommend them highly. A different service person had done excellent work previously, so we are two for two so far.

The plumber, Aris, was very professional and after he fixed the pipes and stopped leak under the sink, he filled the sink with water several times to show me the pipe was no longer dripping under the sink. Then he worked on the toilet tank and replaced the fill valve and flapper. He explained the cause of the problem and then tested the toilet to show me that the fill valve is now fixed. He was very neat and I also liked the fact that I received a call to let me know that the plumber was going to be delayed. I am very happy with this company.

It was very good. They came so quickly. I called them that morning and they came within 2 hours. It was $350 and they used the $40 coupon.

Sunday morning basement waste line backing up.Called my regular plumber 7a.m service picked up, took message.called 2 more times no help.they called back three hours later I told them to forget it . found roto rooter on internet called tony. they relieved my anxiety by calling right back with an arrival time promised 11 am. near 11 am I called again, dispatcher called truck they were outside looking for a parking spot. on time!.technician william came down the basement to estimate situation of backed up line, gave me a price I said ok, and he started to snake line.did a thorough job line was unclogged he explained why it was clogging.maybe joint in pipe separated.said he would get me name and number for a guy to come with camera to look in pipe to see true problem.I was very satisfied with their professionalism,with calling me and williams knowledge and the way he did the job.Part of the problem with plumbers etc they leave you hanging causeng anxiety rotorooter did not do that they called me and when i called them i got an answer.not just an answering service.THANK YOU! rotorooter

After numerous follow-up calls after they missed the appointment I was told I would hear from a technician. The technician finally called, he told me he had just learned of the appointment. He told me it was too late to come out and we would need to wait until the next day. The next day a new technician called. Despite management's promise a technician would be out first thing in the morning, he said he couldn't be there until 2:30 PM. I cancelled and am calling another company that hopefully honors their word.

I was a bit taken aback by their flat rate of $409 to clear the drain but decided to go with it. I had previously tried removing the trap and sending a snake down the drain; the snake went down OK but the drain was still blocked. Two guys came, very professional, very upbeat, very friendly. They repeated my efforts and said "don't worry, we've got it" and then it turned out to be the drain from h***. The poor guys spent 6 solid hours working on this drain, using larger and larger pieces of equipment, no lunch or coffee break, but they were totally professional and I never once heard them swear at the darn thing. After they solved the problem (which I could never have done myself), they totally cleaned up and insisted that no additional charges were required. The drain has never worked as well as it's working now.

Did they come the same day I called them? Yes! Did they call ahead to let me know that the workers were on their way? Yes! Did they unclog the slow draining bathtub drain? Yes! Was it worth $440 for 15 minutes and an automated tool? Absolutely NOT! If I had known when I was making the appointment that it would cost that much, I would have looked elsewhere. I'm sure someone would have come on the same day for 1/2 that amount! Follow-up: Roto -Rooter manager contacted me because of my dissatisfaction. Bottom line is that the $440.00 price is exactly what it would cost to do this repair. It didn't matter if they were there for 15 minutes or several hours.-they do not charge an hourly rate. When I told them that it would have been better customer service to let me know that when I made the appointment, he said that they do not permit the operators to discuss costs at all. So, there is no way of knowing what i might expect to pay until the service person arrives to the appointment. By then, I have already waited through half the day, to possibly send him right home because his fees are too high. In my book, this is a really bad business model.

Technician evaluated problem and came up with solution pretty quickly. Cleared tree root obstruction and showed me via camera that obstruction was gone. Very professional and friendly. great job. Highly recommended.

I had a blockage in my sewer linkage line. Turned out to be a rock. The plumber was able to push the object at the time further down the line. He thought the line was clear. Arranged to have another plumber with a video line to come and inspect. 2 hours later the second plumber came and confirmed there was still a blockage. He made a phone call to his supervisor. They wanted $24.500 to fix the situation. They started throwing buzz words like digging up asphalt, forms, engineers, etc, etc. These guys were looking to make a quick buck....Even if there was to be digging, the average cost was quoted to me to be 12k-15k from 4 other plumbing companies. I found another company that fixed the problem without having to do digging. Never again will I use Roto Rooter.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services committed to having someone to my location in about two hours and I received a confirmation email detailing that someone should arrive between 9:45pm and 11:45pm. At nearly 11:30pm someone called and said the technician was running late on a job and asked if I would prefer to reschedule or wait. I chose to wait. After another 20 minutes I received a second call, to let me know the technician would not be able to make it this evening, but they could have someone come out the next morning. At this point it was too late to find, research and call another service. Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services claim of 24 hour operation should not be taken seriously. I did speak to a supervisor who offered 20% off service the next day. Based on this experience, I would not rely on Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services for any emergency service.

The service was phenominal and the follow up was better! Kyle did an outstanding job cleaning out what he calls the "main sewer line" He pulled a substancial amount of roots and such that got through a seperation in the line. He immedialty called in Kenny, (who got here in less then an hour) did a thorough job with a camera and showing me where the seperation was located. He gave several options on how to repair and we finally agreed to do a"spot repair". A team of three gentleman were arranged to come the next morning and knocked out the repair in several hours. My family and I are very gratefull for the prompt service and the thoroughness of the process. Thanks so much!!!!

From phone call to call back it was 45 minutes. I called at 9:00 and was told serviceman would be there before 11 a.m. It was actually less time than that. He was prompt and courteous. He diagnosed the problem, provided repair and was done in an hour. I will definitely call them again for future issues. This was the only toilet in a rental unit - you can imagine the urgency. I am very happy with the service.

The technician came out exactly at 4:30 at the beginning of our two hour window. They were supposed to come the night before, but the technician got hung up at another job. They gave us a 15% discount for the inconvenience. The technician but covers on his boots before he even walked in our house. He gave us a quote before he did the work and went over everything with us. He even ran out and picked up new pieces for us! I will be calling them in the future for all of our plumbing needs!

The plumber Elvis arrive at the time that i was told and they notified me when he was on the way. He was very professional and explain me every detail of what he was going to do. He told me the price before he started working and that was the same price that i paid when he was done. Elvis did a nice clean job and gave me some tips to prevent my sewer clogged again, i hardly recommend him and i will ask for him anytime i need service again.

I purchase my home on 1981, built in 1959. Over the years I have used the services of plumbers at my beck and call. For me this experience has become a pig and poke situation. On Oct. 14, 2014 at 11am, I called roto rooter for a pipe water leak over the hot water tank. I provided all the information to the receptionist. She got back to me, and told me the plumber would arrive at 1:30. Bill and his assistant arrived at my home. Bill was courteous and professional, as well as the assistant. They reviewed the issue and gave me an estimate. It was reasonable to me, so I gave him the okay to do the repair. Through the years of repairs, I have become cognizant of the needs of repairs. the service policies are far superior to the competitors. I highly recommend Roto Rooter.

I wish we had replaced the old, cranky toilet before it became an emergency, but that was our fault. We knew that it was a matter of time and that the 100+ year old stack needed snaking. This was an expensive job, even with the very generous discount, but this was not the time to skimp. Unfortunately, we didn't act in time and houseguests clogged the toilet, after which we discovered that the tank was leaking--when the bowl overflowed. We called Sunday night and got on the list for the first call Monday morning. The plumber who came was extremely pleasant and worked hard to get us the best price. He got to work while we went to Lowes to get the new toilet so we wouldn't have to have another service call to install it. We were back in no time and he had snaked everything--including a sink (2nd job/extra charge, but necessary). He cleaned everything and was very professional.

The first plumber spent almost 3 hours with no result. The next day exactly at the time I was told the second plumber came in with the right tool and much more experience. The job was completed within and hour. While it took so many hours to complete this job, it was not really their fault. the plumber who originally did the plumbing in the building did a terrible job and something simple as cleaning the drain now is a complicated project.

I called Roto-Rooter because water had backed up from the sewer. Roto-Rooter responded in about 20 minutes. The Service Tech Erick 0271 was efficient, professional, and pleasant. He was able to clear the pipe so that the water now flows freely from the house. I am very satisfied with the results.

It went very well. The two plumbers came on time and worked diligently on locating the origin of the leak. Since it wasn't immediately apparent where the origin of this leak was, they did not open the ceiling until they were sure. The 2nd floor bathroom bowel pipe was leaking down into the ceiling on the first floor. They put drop clothes down on the floor and covered the surrounding furniture prior to opening the ceiling. They left for a short period of time to go and purchase a part that they needed to complete the job. When they returned, they completed the job and cleaned up before they left.

Excellent. Came, diagnosed problem, fixed it fast, and knocked $100 off the price.

The technician arrived within the appointment-time window. Before he arrived, I appreciated getting calls letting me know that he was on his way. Once there, he completed the job in a reasonable amount of time, and he stayed for a while afterwards to make sure that water continued to flow through the drain; he also checked the sewer trap in the basement to make sure water was flowing properly there. Before leaving, he did a good job cleaning up. Overall, he was very professional. In the Ratings section above, I indicated that the price was "Fair." I would have preferred to have had the chance to select "Expensive," but that option was not available. I thought the price I paid was very high, especially in view of the fact that I had paid Roto-Rooter much less for doing the same job several years back. I do appreciate, however, that the price I actually ended up paying this time was significantly lower than the initial price I was quoted when the first technician arrived. That, paired with the realization that prices do go up over time, inclined me to select "Fair" for my rating of the price. (The initial quote?$1100?struck me as exorbitant.)

I called Roto Rooter after having engaged another plumber to clear a clogged drain in my kitchen sink. There was greasy and soapy standing water that was backing up. Initially called another local plumber, who I might add had glowing reviews here on Angie's List. That company had sent plumbers to my home earlier in the day. Those plumbers did not have a long enough snake to clear the line and were going to return the following day with the necessary equipment to do the job. They opened the pipe under the sink and drained the water. When they left the sink was clear and there was no water. However, since the line was still clogged, within a couple of hours after they left, water started to back up again and by the evening there was significant water in the sink again. I also noticed water on the floor spilling out from the cabinet under the sink. When I opened the cabinet it was evident that the plumbers failed to tighten the pipe and the water from the sink was dripping out. Consequently, there was quite a mess. I called the plumbers and asked that someone come to my house to fix the leak that they had created. I was told by the "night emergency guy" that he had nothing to do with what the plumbers did during the day and he charges $225.00 an hour which I would have to pay if he came to tighten the pipe. I was quite outraged because that company's plumbers created the situation I was faced with yet did not care. I told him that he should call his boss, which he did, and call me back, which he did. In the second conversation he explained to me why the plumbers were coming back the next day and that I had to wait until then. I told him that I would do what I felt necessary to resolve my plumbing issue. I thereafter called Roto Rooter and within 20 minutes, Thomas and Andy showed up. Not only did they tighten the pipe under the sink, they snaked the water line and cleared the sink. Both gentlemen were pleasant, polite, efficient, and professional. I was not charged any extra because it was nighttime. They cleaned up after themselves. I have only good things to say about Roto Rooter and their plumbers. I will definitely use them again.
