AJ Perri

There were no extra charges beyond the big deal amount. They came out and gave me a quote but to be honest all I needed to get done was to have them change my faucet and they were going to charge like $350 or $400 for it. I would definitely get a much better deal. So it didn't work out. I wouldn't refer them to anybody else. I think they were way too expensive. I think that they were trying to use the opportunity to upsell. The quality was fine in terms of just looking through everything.

The meeting went well and the salesperson was very informative. The only issue is that while I am very happy with there emergency service, the pricing of regular work is to expensive.

When asked about another toilet (5 minutes maximum and he was already there), the provider would not perform service unless paid full $150 despite the fact that he was there. Provider also looked at outside drain (his suggestion) and gave me quote of $900. Job has never been done (5 years) and apparently never had to be done. The AJ Perri plumber had an uncaring attitude. I would never use this company again and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Awesome - they were among the few contractors I called that said I could convert my fairly new boiler from oil to gas (instead of buying a new one which would have been twice the price!). They were able to get me great interest free financing through Home Depot (they do a lot of subcontracting) and even facilitated the oil tank removal. They were prompt, professional and a great value. Highly recommend them. (Oil tank removal was paid separately, about $600)

Two of their guys showed up promptly. however, They could not reset toilet properly and it kept on leaking. They tried it twice and then gave up and said that the toilet pipe connectors were installed wrong and they will have to fix the entire system. I called another plumber and he could fix the toilet. Did nothing fancy ... Just said that he was surprised the other plumber could not fix it. Don't go by the show they put on. Take multiple quotes. Their response is what anyone would expect. They basically denied working at this address. If some interested party is really eager to hire them and they want proof that they worked at my address, let me know and I will dig up the credit card receipts.

AJ Perri does quality work. I have used them for more than one thing and each time the work has been above and beyond. The one thing with them though is that you are going to pay more using them - by a good amount. The payoff is you know you are getting it done right.

They never gave me a quote. I would not consider them again.

I wanted the dryer cleaned because you see these things with dryer fires you know, I don't know if this lady ever had it cleaned. The house is empty a lot because she lived in Nebraska. I figured let me call them, it's a simple small job just to see how they would handle a small job. I did it. They were advising I think $70 to come clean out the dryer. I got them, they came out to the house. First of all the guy was late too, he didn't come on time. I waited he said he got stuck somewhere or something. He came in late. He came, I'm watching him. He goes on the outside of the house, he puts a tool in there, cleans it out, so then he is checking the dryer there, he didn't move the dryer or nothing. After he left I look behind there, I was curious, he crimped the line, he crimped the duct work that goes from the dryer into the opening. Lucky I spotted that because that could cause a fire. I call him up I said you know I got you people here, a simple job, cleaning, first of all before I called you I looked at how they do this, they actually move the dryer, they disconnect the duct work and they clean that out too. That man did not do that. He must have thought I was stupid. It could have could on fire. First of all the guy tried to put the tool down the opening. You can't put that tool down the opening. He was trying to put it where the filter goes. You can't put that tool down there. It doesn't really do nothing, it doesn't go to the duct work or nothing, into the floor. So I call ed them up. They wanted to refund me the money. I was really upset about it. This is a danger, my house could have caught on fire. They said you know we are sorry, this and that, I said let me tell yo something, I need the work here. I need the air conditioning working. You are the last people in the world that I would ever call. I said if you can't handle a simple thing like a simple dryer cleaning who knows what you would do to a major think like heating and air conditioning that you go into the attic and replace things. I crossed them right off. I told a few people, what ever you do, don't call these people. I was watching the guy, I was really amazed, this guy is unbelievable. They refunded me the money though, they refunded me the whole money, I paid $80 or whatever it was. I told them I was very unhappy with them, I would never call them again for anything.

I did not sign a contract with AJ Perri. As noted earlier, nice sales rep but estimate was more than what I wanted to spend on this project.

Reliable, efficient, professional and courteous. The reason I gave a "good", not "excellent" on the price is that I honestly don't know. We didn't go go for multiple bids. The Perri estimate was about what I expected an seemed fair.

It was horrible, yet again. I don't know why I keep calling them for quotes they're so underhanded it's amazing. They came to deal with leaky valves under my bathroom sink. I just wanted them capped off for the time being while I redid my bathroom. When the guy showed he was nice, shook my hand and took a look at what I wanted done. I even turned off the house water for them (or so I thought) He looked at it, went to his truck and told me it would cost around $200 for him to get the work done. That wasn't bad but as we were draining the lines he told me they 'sounded funny' and said that my main water shut off valve in my utility closet was busted. I asked him if he wanted to try to turn it off more in case I didn't do a good job... he refused to touch it saying it was too tight to put his hand in and would be too much of a risk unless I let him replace it. Told me that would cost an extra $800 and said if I paid in cash it would be cheaper (that was a little sketchy). I told him I needed to have it done today and they told me the earliest they could do it was tomorrow. As soon as I told him they'd loose the job his office immediately had time that evening. Little did I know they already called out another truck to help (beginning their underhanded approach). When I asked them if there were any other options they perri guy said no. I called a competitor who told me he could do it without shutting off the valve all the way saving me money. When I told the perri guy he got visibly upset and stormed off. He was clearly upset that he lost the deal. I didn't know why because from what he was saying it wasn't a big job and it wasn't expensive. When their competitor arrived (roto-router) I started talking to him. He looked at the shut off valve and told me I would be nuts to want to replace it at the moment. He told me that the only way to to the job right was to remove the water heater (it is in a very very tight spot so I believe him) and replace the valve. He explained that to simply replace the valve wouldn't even solve my problem given that the valve is in an annoying spot. He just suggested that I wait until the water heater goes and then get the whole thing rerouted whenever that happens. I asked him how he would cap the lines in the bathroom he said, easy, i'll just turn off your water at the curb. He did, he capped the lines and even showed me how to take the caps off myself and install the new valves myself so I don't need to call them again. It turned out that this guy was a former Perri Employee who quit because of their underhanded approaches. Apparently what the perri guy was going to do was cut the line and then sucker me into removing the water heater and fixing the valve and suckering me into thousands of dollars worth of repairs. It became clear why the perri guy called out another truck! He explained that replacing any of the valves is a one man job the only reason for a second truck is to remove the water heater! I got further into it and found out that AJ Perri isn't owned by the original founder anymore, rather it's owned by his sons who have put their techs ON COMMISSION and told them that if they don't make quota they'll get fired and that their salaries are tied to how many jobs they can produce. They were setting me up!! He wanted to cut the line, tell me he couldn't fix it and then sucker me into thousands of dollars worth of repairs. This company used to be very different, they used to be reliable and really honest. Now they're all about money and their office just makes excuses and treats customers like s***. They even tried to charge me a $50 call fee just to come out and give their stupid prices and get themselves in the door. I refused to pay it and once I started flipping out on them they finally waved the fee. They're jerks, unreliable, dishonest, and thieves. Don't ever use them again. This isn't the company it was 10 or 15 years ago.

The estimate given was more than twice what I eventually got from several plumbers so I decided to go with someone else.

I had them come out to estimate replacing my furnace. They told me it would cost 9k to do so in a 1000sq ft place. I had the same service done with the same Carrier system and even upgraded some duct work for me for $2000. Their pricing is insane. When i want them to come out they want to charge $50 but then they give me a crazy price so why would I want them to do the work. They offer a paltry 10% off coupon like it's free water in everything they do if you get it done same day, that's because their prices are so high. They were a local business with good quality, now they've gotten too big for their britches and sideline their customer's concerns. I wouldn't use them until they get their pricing structure under control. Also, I had them give me an estimate on installing a garbage disposal. They told me $1000 to do half of the job, they wouldn't do the electrical work and make the disposal work. I had someone else do it, plumbing and electrical for $200.

A J Perri was recommended by a neighbor. They initially set a bad tone by requiring both my wife and I to be present which was inconvenient for us but we scheduled a Saturday morning. The salesman spent 2 1/2 hours. He stressed how good their company was and tried to talk us into committing to them for the job. The price started at $20,800 which he quickly discounted 15%. When we didn't agree, he dropped the price to $17, 700, then to $15,500 and finally to $13,400. Even the lowest number was the highest estimate we received. A J Perri's estimate took the form of scribbled notes on back of their certificate of liability insurance. Other companies provided much more formal estimates, even if hand written. We can't speak about quality of workmanship, but their pricing is way out of range with other providers. Other companies who provided estimates started much lower for equivalent services and spent 30-60 minutes with us.

Checked pressures, thermostat, filters, checked for leaks, ensure unit cycles on an off, checked all connections at unit and in the attic. Cleaned outdoor coil, compressor compartment, electrical compartment, blower compartment, Inspected condensate drain and inspected supply and return ducts and registers

They called their office told them of the problem they were told not to install it. A supervisor from the company came out to see if he could give me a quote on AC unit that would work. He drew a plan of all the rooms and said he would get back the next day with a price, That should have been Wednesday June 26 and I 'm still waiting. They also said that they would refund my deposit and I'm still waiting for tat to come back . Not very happy with them right now.

It went fairly well. The service was very good and I'm satisfied.

They were pretty good about coming out. They came out pretty fast. Pretty professional. They actually alerted us that we had some kind of plan through our gas company, which ended up saving us money. They did really good. They explained what they did (inaudible 10:40) they found that there was something wrong outside with the gas line, the thing that regulates it. So they did what they could do on the inside and then explained the gas company needed to come immediately because potentially instead of just keeping the gas cap (inaudible 10:58), you could have massive amounts of gas come into the house. So they stood there and waited for the gas company to show up and went out to get something to show them what was going on and stuff like that. They were very professional. I've never heard anything bad about A J Perri.

I contracted with A.J. Perri for Carrier heat pump maintenance twice a year for 3 years. They were always professional, courteous and punctual. Late 2012 started having problems with the compressor. A.J. Perri recommended purchasing a new unit and a rep from the company came out the following week. He said that they only sell high-end Carrier units and the cost was at least $10,000. Now the thing is, the current unit was still under warranty. Another company came out and recommended replacing the compressor only and was able to obtain a new one from Carrier at no cost to me. The unit is working well.

The first visit was $199 for the initial inspection and $4500 for the excavation and repair. They were very professional. They responded very quickly, all the people seemed to be knowledgeable and gave us good information. The price was hard to compare. Most of the work was underground and it seems to be working so I have no complaints.

It went great. The person was very professional and took care of everything, answered questions, and made sure that it was done right the first time.

He was very professional, went above and beyond for me and had superior technical skills. He had tons of coupons online and gave me a discount if you schedule your appointment online. If they come out and they can't fix it, they don't charge you for coming out which I thought was great! They have warranties and also guarantees and they stand behind their services and systems. They make sure you are 100% satisfied with their work. Also provide life time warranties on the products. If the system breaks down after they service it, they will wave the trip charge for having to come out again.

Very well. Professional workmen. Quality materials.

The technician did his job; I have no complaints there. My problem is the exorbitant cost A. J. Perri charges. The technician told me beforehand what the cost would be. I agreed to pay it although I thought the price was "steep." $1331 for installing 2 faucets and a shut-off valve is just too expensive for me. I will not be using A. J. Perri any more.

AJ Perri charges exorbitant prices! My A/C wasn't cooling down my room so I had them come over to take a look. He went up in the attic and re-taped a duct which was connected to the air handler, which he said the tape had fallen off of and was drawing air in from the attic. The charge? $356! No parts were included. He said the hourly rate is $550!!!! And that I was lucky because he only charged me for 30 minutes and then gave me 10% off to drop it down to US$245. They also charge $89 for coming to your house, which is separate and additional and not deducted from any work they do. So in total the charge was $245 + 89 + tax for what was really about 15 minutes of actual work. So long AJ Perri! Have fun pillaging the Jersey shore.
