Service went well....prices were very high...I had to turn down certain services because of price. They have a set book of prices. Plumber worked hard and completed the job. He was missing a part on his truck, so he came back the following week to finish. Overall, a good experience, but in the future, I will search for plumbers that charge less.

The tech completed a written estimate and began to inform us of the various prices structures.......10 year tank warranty/10 year labor warranty, 6 year tank/5 year labor and 6 year tank and 1 year labor. This is when our eyes couldn't believe the quotes that were were seeing. They ranged from $3,143.00 to $4,520.00. We were informed through many friends and by reading Angies List that A.J. Perri was higher in their prices than others; and they were correct! We certainly can understand that there are always many different levels of service, but Perri's costs were "double" what we were quoted by 3 other plumbing contractors. I also noticed that the quote was for a 50 gallon tank, when we told him a 40 gallon tank. I corrected the tech about this issue, he then told me just take about 6 dollars off the prices listed on the quote. We informed the tech about his price structure as compared to other quotes received. The other quotes were all within $75.00-$150.00 of each other. The tech became somewhat defensive and naturally we now heard the facts about their company verses others. We have just as much faith in these other contractors who came well recommended and guarantee their work as well. Please do not respond to my review with your quotes of Saks vs Sears or Mercedes vs. Hyundai. Yes, we do understand that there is a wide spectrum of service providers out there, sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you pay for something and you don't get it.

This was for a repair behind the wall under the sink. The person was very professional. I went with some one else from Angie's List because AJ's quote was triple the price.

The estimate was very quick on 8/21 and was just slightly higher than another estimate we received. I needed the work done by Friday 23rd, at the latest, so they scheduled the appointment for the morning of the 23rd; however, I then received a call on the 23rd that the plumber could not make it because he was stuck at another appointment and would be there the entire day. I told them that was unacceptable and I made it clear that we needed the work done by the 23rd. The company then offered to send the plumber out on Saturday, stating that he doesn't work Saturdays but they would send him anyway. He arrived 8am on Saturday, completed the job quickly. Once we tried hooking up the sink though, we realized they didn't add shut off valves so we had to add them on ourselves and the pipes they put in were very short - too short - so we had to go buy PVC pipes to add to the pipes the plumber put in to be able to connect everything properly. For the gas line, the person who connected our new stove could not get the cap off that the plumber said should "pop off" so he had to cut the line which was very frustrating for him. All in all, the work was satisfactory and the plumber was polite and came out on his day off; but, then again, I don't think it's appropriate for the company to allow appointments to be scheduled and then the plumber to be sent on last minute appointments pushing the scheduled appointment off the calendar.

My A/C wasn't cooling and I called Gilson & Sons. It turned out I had a leak in the evaporator coil. Although my system is old and in time will need to be replaced, I couldn't afford to have a new a/c system installed at this time. Peter ,the Service Manager, called back the same day with an estimate to do the job .He was courteous and professional in explaining what was needed and the price he quoted was the price they charged. They ordered the part and within 2 days they returned and got my system up and running again. Eric did a fine job with the repair and I am very pleased with their service. This is the second time I've used them and I will certainly call them again if I need service in the future.

It went well overall. They put in a roader in the sink and they cleared the blockage. The only bad part was that they charged me double because the service man was unaware of the Angie's List deal. Angie's List is working on getting my money back because I did end up paying twice for the work done.

They were very prompt, efficient and reasonably priced. They were able to temporarily eliminate the leak by taping it off until we were ready to have the leak repaired. They are courteous and are just overall nice guys.

Pretty basic service call here. The drain from our washing machine had gotten very slow and couldn't keep up with the draining water. My attempt to clean it myself was unsuccessful. A J Perri had a $99 drain cleaning special so we called them. The scheduling process was simple and efficient. The service person arrived within the schedule time frame after the promised call that he was on his way. He inspected the drain and provided the required service. While he was here we decided to have him do the second sink job as that one was draining somewhat slowly. Both jobs were completed quickly and efficiently. Both drains now work very well. Not a big job but it was done well.

Our previous HVAC system and water heater was close to 20 years old and needed to be replaced. The salesman came out and surveyed our house and recommended options for a new system. The sales pitch was passive/aggressive where the options were low pressure, but the salesman wanted to close the deal by offering one-time rebates. We had used AJ Perri in the past and were very pleased with their work. The price of the system was higher than we expected, but their workmanship was excellent, and I had experiences with other vendors. So in a way, you get what you pay for. The installers showed up on time and worked professionally through the day. When they were done, except for the new equipment, I would not have known they were there. The cleanup was excellent as well as the layout of the pipes and solder joints. The installer demonstrated the controls and gave clear instructions on the use.

It was great. They fixed my plumbing problem and all went well. They were all good everything the girls on the phone are great and technicians are great and the only issue I have and it wasn't with AJ it was myself since I had to wait so long other than that it was fine. I bought the deal and I just used it the next day. The cost was above and beyond the big deal amount and was about $548. I would use them again in the future.

Waste bend to main bath was difficult. Floor around new bend had to be formed, quik-set poured just to place wax ring. A cleanout was added to base of faucet drain pipe for future ease of accessibility. Basement toilet had to be installed the following day as the initial fixture provided had a cracked bowl and could not be done with rest of the work. In spite of the number of glitches of events for the plumber, he did whatever was necessary to assure good quality of work, be expedient, as well as to complete the work in a clean and professional manner.

They were fine and I don't have any problems with them. They showed up on time and explained everything that they will do. They answered all my questions and they were very helpful.

Charges for parts was outrageous

We were experiencing some black sediment in all three of our bathroom faucets. We called AJ Perri because we had received a number of mailings from them, seen their trucks in our neighborhood and we had a very poor experience with Gold Medal Plumbing, another vendor in my area. When we called, the call was answered promptly and courteously and the representative answered all of our questions and was ready to schedule an appointment that evening. We told her that was not convenient for us and she scheduled the visit for our selected day and time. As promised, the plumber, Michael Holt, arrived promptly at the appointed time and the company called a few minutes before to let us know that he would be arriving shortly. Mike was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and highly skilled. He listened to the issue we had and conducted an inspection of our plumbing. He advised us that sediment and bacteria from our almost 20 year old water heater was coming through the faucets and made a number of recommendations. He also found that one of our original toilets was damaged and just short of leak failure as the inside was completely rusted out. In addition to Mike's recommendations, we also wanted to have some additional work done. We replaced our water heater with an upgraded model with a ten year parts and labor warranty, replaced two bathroom faucets, one toilet and a new kitchen faucet and upgraded garbage disposal. Mike sanitized the plumbing system and replaced all of our shutoff valves with newer quarter turn valves. He was in our home for two days, Friday and Saturday, and completed all of the work mostly by himself. His helper needed to leave after the water heater was delivered to our third floor where the water heater closet is located. He was diligent in getting his tasks done and kept us fully informed throughout the project. Mike's work was neat and clean and after he left on Saturday, you would never know he was here working for two days. When we reviewed AJ Perri on Angie's List, we were a little concerned over the pricing grade. It was a B. However, they worked with us on pricing and given the time and amount of work that was completed we are giving them an A. We think the pricing was very reasonable for all of the work that was performed and we know that if we need service this company will stand behind its work. As mentioned above, they warranty both parts and labor on the water heater for 10 years and all of their other supplied products and labor is warrantied for two years. You may find cheaper, but in our estimation, you often get what you pay for and never know whether or not the person doing your job will be available if problems arise after the original work. I am confident that AJ Perri will stand behind the work that we had performed. We would without hesitation recommend AJ Perri to our friends and neighbors and would encourage them to ask for Mike Holt as their plumber. Mike did a terrific job and he made our experience painless. He was a true professional. We will certainly be a repeat customer when a plumbing need arises.

It was somewhat expensive because of the type of faucets they put in but I never had that done before so I don’t know how to compare it. The bathroom faucet was about $475 and I guess they gave me a discount on that and then the kitchen was $701. They have so many commercials on the TV and I think I am paying for the commercials. It took a little while because he didn’t have the kitchen faucets in the truck so he had to send off for those. He didn't have it because I did not inform him of it when I called, so it was fine that I had to wait for that. Everything is fine now. It was much more expensive than what I expected it to be and I don’t know if that is out of the ordinary or not. He was very good and it is doing excellent since he replaced the kitchen faucet.

They are great. Prompt, quickly scheduled appointments. They are decent, okay.

We were not happy with them. They told us what the problem was. It's an old system so we just wanted to get a second opinion. We got a second opinion from others, and it wasn't the same problem at all. It was a $200 fix, and not a $1100 fix. That's about the third time that we had a problem with the company, so we won't be going there again.

After the very professional technician came and condemned our furnace - a high risk of CO poisoning.... In comes the sales rep. He went to every effort to make our previous service provider look bad. (he didn't know that he was talking bad about one of his own colleagues!!! I found out later that they know each other very well.) What a poor way to try to upsell your product by badmouthing the competition. In hindsight, I wish I had told him who he was badmouthing...his own friend. LOL Then came the attempt to sell us the most expensive unit they offer. We rejected that and went with the middle of the road furnace. They also tried to sell us a unit with AC coils that are inappropriate for the condo that we live in. This would include a major change to our duct work that would have provide no added benefit to our HVAC. At the end of the day, we had a new furnace. Very happy with the install and professionalism of the INSTALLERS and TECHNICIANS. Sales people are a disappointment. In an emergency, I would call Perri because I know they can be counted on. In a non-emergency, you can expect to pay HIGH price. In another situation, we were without AC. They replaced a part that cost about $25 and charged me $300!!!!! Again, the installer was great. They are EXPENSIVE for reliable service.

Received a heads up from the Customer Service rep that the technician was on the way and he arrived on time. As always, the technicians are exrtremely professional and respectful and appear to me to be very knowledgeable. This maintenance entailed the cleaning of the outside AC unit. This was done thoroughly followed by a high level look at the furnace and a filter replacement. A humidfier component was also tweaked. Although strictly a maintenance project, have used this company for unplanned events before too and they never disappoint.

They quoted us $100.00 and came within 1 hour of our call. Serviceman was very professional and clean. He even cleaned the tub when he was done.
