Very professional from beginning to end.

First, upon buying an Angie's List coupon, I received an email asking for a phone number so that someone could call to schedule an appointment. Except that no one ever called, which made me wonder why they asked for the phone number to begin with. The tech seemed proficient--he didn't tell me my unit was falling apart and needed to be replaced. He did suggest we change out a valve, which is fine, but I thought he pushed a little hard for me to buy the service plan. Also, one of the concerns we had (a strange scraping sound when the unit starts up) he didn't notice until he was leaving, so that was never addressed. My main problem with him was that he told me that our unit was at 78% efficiency, well below its 90% rating. This had me concerned, so I wanted to get an estimate for replacing the unit. That in itself was a bit of an ordeal; I don't know if this is the industry standard, but I could not schedule an appointment unless my wife and I were both home--that's the old timeshare sales requirement, which was a red flag. However, the salesman who came a couple of weeks later was great. I told him up front where we were, and he thanked me and proceeded to take me downstairs and give me a lot of pointers re: our boiler even though he knew he wasn't going to make a sale. I learned more from him about signs of wear and tear than I did from the tech--including the fact that our boiler is rated at 80%, which means it had barely dropped any--and he also educated me on the types of replacements available. That said, he told me he had to mail (as in USPS) me the estimate, and it is now more than a month later and it has never arrived. Not terribly upset because we weren't going to buy, but I didn't want to get a general idea of what it might cost to replace or upgrade, and I still don't know. Generally speaking, the work both representatives did was fine. I just took off some points for the reasons detailed above (the mixup about 90% and 80%, and the fact that I never received the estimate).

I was very satisfied with their service. They were very professional, came on time and did the job. The whole thing was very satisfactory. I found out about them from a postcard they sent me and they were able to give me a quote for their service on the phone.

Without exception, everyone I've dealt with, from getting a quote for a generator through the installation and scheduling the permitting visits, has been knowledgeable, responsive, patient, professional and timely. Heartily recommend and wish I found them years ago.

The upsale is always their goal. They came and did an inspection on my air conditioning unit. THEM: "It's almost 10 years old and MUST be replaced. If you don't, you may have to wait until we are available to install a new one." They even did a cost/benefit analysis on the spot!!! Were they on the ball or was this their typical sales pitch? When I said I'd have to think about it before I commit to spending THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, they said: The summer is a very busy time and we always service our contract owners first.....by the way, are you contract owner? I can sign you up for a contract....." etc, etc. It's a year later and I did not replace my air conditioning system and its working fine! Lesson learned with Perri....it's all about the upsale. I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN.

Extremely prompt call backs and service during a bitter cold spell. Part was up in North Jersey and to my house the same day. Very very pleased with A.J Perri's courtesy and professionalism from office and technician personnel. I would definitely call them again!.

start by saying..they are very punctual, act very professional but I no longer trust them. The price is never the same as advertised. They ALWAYS manage to find somthing else that needs replacement or will malfunction causing some sort of a problem.They came to replace a malfunctioning valve they had replaced 6 months ago. There was no chaarge BUT whlile he was here he noted the pressure in the water tank to be almost in the danger zone! Repairs to replace all the valves and water tank = $2150! I've already spent $1500 over the past 2 years with this company to repair a burner that is only 4 years old. I called another company on Angies list...found a defective water pressure gauge + carbon build up that was never cleaned by AJ Perri. I believe their sevice techs are subcontractors and cannot perform services for advertised prices unless they FIND other ways to make up the difference. It has happened to me on EVERY call they have made to my home or vacation home. Don't TRUST them! Shame because they are very prompt and act very professional.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and we wound up not using them. They were asking for a too much money for what we needed. We bought the big deal, inorder to knock down the cost, and they have a basic cost to come out and look at what we had. The big deal took care of their service call charge. The estimate that they gave was more than I needed. We had a leaky pipe, and they recommended that we change half of our plumbing system, which I didn't want to do, I just wanted the leak fixed. They came the same day I called, and right when they said they would. The guy was a nice guy, and he seemed to know what he was talking about. I thought they were a little pricey.

THE PROVIDER CHECKED FURNACE AND SAID IT NEEDED TO BE SHUT DOWN AND NOT USED AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN PUNCHED A HOLE IN FLU AND STUCK CARBON MONOXIDE PROBE AND SAID IT WAS LEAKING AND IT WAS A DANGER. HE THEN CALLED SERVICE DEPT. FOR US TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT DAY AS WE HAD NO HEAT BECAUSE IT WAS SHUT DOWN. UNFORTUNATELY WE DID NOT CHECK AJ PERRI'S RATING UNTIL AFTER REPAIRMAN LEFT AND IT WAS VERY STRANGE THAT CM LEVELS WERE SO HIGH AND OUR CM MONITORS DID NOT GO OFF IN HOUSE. ASKED REPAIRMAN ABOUT THAT AND HE IGNORED US. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT IS EXACTLY WHERE THE CARBON MONOXIDE SHOULD HAVE A HIGH READING. BUT THAT IS WHAT THEY RELY ON THE CUSTOMER'S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. AFTER NO HEAT ALL NIGHT. THE FOLLOWING DAY CONTACTED ANOTHER HVAC COMPANY I HAD USED IN PAST. CLEANED SOME CONTACTS AND SAID WAS WORKING FINE. TWO WEEKS LATER STILL WORKING FINE. THE SECOND REPAIRMAN FROM OTHER COMPANY SAID THIS IS NOT FIRST TIME AJ PERRI PULLED THIS SCAM ! I'M SHOCKED ANGIE'S LIST GAVE THEM A "B" RATING. I AM ALSO WRITING TO THE BBB ABOUT THIS SCAM.

Peter continued to pursue problem-would send tech sometimes on SAME day of call !!

Work done: complete toilet rebuild - meaning the flushing part, I believe. And replaced angle stop - the old had rusted. Will keep them in mind for the future & recommend them to our friends. Good experience.

They told me what I needed to do and how soon I needed to do it.

He did come when he said he would. He was not able to do exactly what work I needed done for me, but the plumbing service call went well. My husband paid him out of pocket, unaware that I had already purchased the deal. Other than not saying anything to my husband about that, it was a great visit.

Upon calling AJ Perri for an estimate that came that same afternoon. They provided an estimate after evaluating the new gas line location and connections. The estimate was somewhat lower than a previous one and we went with AJ Perri based on their responsiveness and professionalism. They then returned the next day as promised and completed the work. The installation was well done and very timely!

They were very punctual. They were even early and called before they came. It took them 2 hours and cleaned up after themselves. After he left I noticed an issue; the water was brown for an hour and a half. I wasn't informed of this and was caught off guard. I called to explain the issue and they were understanding and compensated me with a free furnace and a/c tune up in the spring. I asked how to light the pilot and he said that it never goes out. He eventually told me how to do so. They were more anxious to get out and finish. They only deal with one brand of hot water heaters. UPDATE: (11.12.13)Justin who came out today was excellent. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He gave me information and answered questions I didn't have to ask. He even made some good suggestions.

Technician was very personable and efficient. He explained the process and provided me with materials/information detailing the services performed and condition of my unit. The service was promptly done and the work area was left clean.

I think they are expensive but punctual and the technicians that have come to my house have always been very professional.

The plumber was called because of a leak in the bathroom aswell as the kitchen. In the bathroom the facet was not screwed tight on to the sink, the plumber suggested that I cork the faucet simple enough but he then tried to sell me faucets for $733. that is crazy! he then could not figure out where the puddle was coming from in the kitchen, he wanted to break into the wall, and start to search for the source of the leak, he stated that he would have to break the walls until he found the source. I was going to let him do it but he seemed to eager to tear down my walls so I said no. With all the technology that is available I wondered why didnt AJ Perri supply their plumbers with the infer red technology that other plumbing companies use to detect where water is in the wall. I called a friend who is a carpenter he was able to get his hands on a infer red scanner and there was no WATER in my wall at all!!! AJ Perri would have made holes through out my house for $365, and I would have to repair my self!!!! and the water in the kitchen was coming from the fridge!!!!!!! Beware of a plumber willing to do scavenger hunt through out your walls without an infer red scanner!

Furnace stopped operating. Gilson sent technician out that afternoon. Technician or Gilson did not have part(which was disappointing). Had to get part from manufacturer. Obtained part the next day and installed.

Punctual, straighforward and responsive to questions following receipt of the estimate.

After "Sandy", my husband refused to fill and carry 5 gallon gas tanks to use our generator. Since we have a natural gas house, Gilson installed a full house generator that will carry a full load, lights to central air that automatically goes on 20 seconds after a power outage. When JCP&L restores the power, the generator "knows" and switched back to JCP&L. The generator went on 3 times since July and worked perfectly. When the installation was completed, inside and outside, you would never know the men from Gilson were here. Even the town inspectors commented on the good quality of the work.

It went fine, but I did have to pay $100 more.

I have a service contract with them. There was no charge the last time they came because that was part of my service contract. They are reliable. They are responsive in an emergency. I am a tough customer. I go looking for a better supplier. They meet my standards. I am continuing to use them. The only problem I have is occasionally when I talk to a dispatcher, they don't necessarily regard something as urgent the way I do so I have to be a little insistent.

Scheduling was easy and organized. The Plumber was Ron Long and he was awesome. He fixed the problem in a few minutes and gave me detailed advice on some other issues I was having. Very courteous and professional.

They're OK, not great, the last time they were here, they left a sloppy mess and I had to have it re done. My housekeeper has pictures of the mess. The man was very lovely and very mannerly, but he put in the wrong unit and I had to have it replaced. Gilson used to be excellent. I'm not sure what happened.
