The plumber came. He took a look around my house (which looks bigger than it is when you first come in) and decided to tell me that my pipes were garbage. I have had many workers and plumbers over the years so I knew this was false and that he was looking to intimidate me. So I told him that I knew they were NOT junk and that I have had many workers over the years. He insisted that I had garbage pipes and derided my plumbing as he emptied the space under the sink and made a mess in the room. I finally decided to listen to my instincts and told him to leave. I have never had a bad experience with an Angie's list provider - this is my first. I suggest you avoid this provider.

They were polite and professional. However, they insisted on speaking to me and my wife together. My wife works nights so I told them that it was not possible. All of their questioning were very personal and strange. I told them that I would be making the decision and that my wife would not be available. The sales pressure was enormous. They just kept repeating their agenda over and over again. You can tell they are purely sales driven and that they do not care about the client.

Called them... they advertise emergency services. They confirmed that they offer emergency service. The water company turned off the water main to the house because the main water valve to the house needed to be repaired and we needed to have a plumber come and replace the valve before water could be turned on again. When we called them they offered an appointment 2 days later. We told them no thanks and called other places.

I have been using AJ Perri for the past few years. They have done my annual maintenance on my gas furnace and air conditioner. This February 2014 I had my annual furnace maintenance done. Several weeks later on a very cold morning, I awoke to no heat. I called them immediately. It was 5:30 a.m. I went back into bed to keep warm. I was very worried because the furnace was running continuously but no heat was coming out. I called them again at 7:30 a.m. saying that I had spoke with someone earlier and that no one had called me back. I told them what had happened and asked when someone would be coming. The woman said that she would have someone come soon. The serviceman came about 1:30. I told him the story about them coming several weeks earlier for the annual maintenance. I showed him the paperwork. He told me that the man who had done the maintenance did not do what was checked off on the paper. He showed me some things on the furnace. I was not happy to hear this. After a while, he told me that the "flame sensor" needed to be replaced and that it would cost approximately $900. I was in shock. He said that he could clean it up and get the furnace to work for now but that I might want to consider getting a new furnace. My furnace is eight years old. He told me that the Coleman brand is not a very good one. He suggested that I have a representative from AJ Perri come to give me an "estimate" for a new furnace free of charge. I made an appointment that afternoon to have someone come the following week. In the meantime I got in touch with several other companies to see if what this man told me was true. I was told that the part that I needed was not $900 but more like $50 to $100. One of the gentlemen who came to my house actually took the part out and showed it to me and explained that it is in good shape but that it has to be cleaned for it to work properly. He told me that in his opinion my furnace was still in decent shape and that there was no need to consider purchasing a new one at this time. I was so relieved. I contacted AJ Perri with the above information and cancelled my appointment with them about a new furnace. The customer service representative that I spoke with said that the matter would be looked into concerning both servicemen who came to my house. I told her that I would not use them anymore and that I was very disappointed with what had happened. Please let people know that AJ Perri is a company that cannot be trusted. We have been their customers for over 30 years. They are there when we need them & the people from the customer service on the phone to the folks who come to my home, are professional. I also like the follow up at the beginning of fall & summer for maintenance on our systems,

They gave us an excellent price for a high efficiency air conditioner and water heater. The project manager came to our home to give us an estimate then coordinated the whole installation. The installation team was punctual, professional, and efficient. The job was completed on time and without any disruption of our time. A minor problem with an exit pipe from the humidifier was corrected without cost. I would enthusiastically recommend AJ Perri for all heating and cooling work.

The gentleman showed up on time and was very pleasant. He got straight to the problem and it was fixed promptly.

We had a nasty clog in our bathroom sink. AJ Perry had great reviews, plus they had coupon on Angie's List...$129 guaranteed to clear a drain. Perfect ! I called at 2 pm and told a serviceman would arrive between 6-8 pm that evening. He arrived as promised, very professional and cleared the awful mess from our pipes !! Professional and smooth experience. I would definitely use their services in the future.

I was pressured into spending a lot of money for a hot water heater. I was told it was energy efficient, but when I checked the gas company rebates, it did not qualify as energy efficient. He was here for hours and left the area messy. I was also talked into joining their service program which basically inspects furnaces and air conditioners in order to tell you they need to be replaced. I have not purchased anything further from them and will use an independent HV/AC person in the future. They are a total rip-off.

Quickly found the problem but charged a lot just to show up, then had a very high estimate for the work and would not break down the estimate by part/labor. I replaced the part myself.

The service went well. Scheduling was done fairly quickly. The technician was clean and wore booties over his shoes.

Plumber arrived as scheduled. Explained what he had to do and what it would cost. Did the repair and showed me why it happened and help me correct the problem. They are not cheap, but they are prompt and they do an excellent job.

Technician was on time, polite and knowledgeable. They performed the work and completed the project in a neat and professional manner. Their prices are high but the work is excellent.

They are very professional and courteous. Negative is they are always trying to "upsell" the customer. It never ends, they are persistent, I will give them that.

Went pretty well. Professional, punctual, explained things quite well. Gave valuable advice that I was previously aware of but was good to be told and know was accurate.

Very professional. Works clean. Everyone who comes to work at my house has been professional and courteous. I've used them for over 10 years for any plumbing or heating issue I've had and have no reason to change to someone else.

It went well as far as the service. There were some small details that AJ Perri is usually very good at doing but this time were forgotten like replacing the air filter and the tech didn't put the cover back on the unit. After looking at my receipt I'm not sure if I'm signed up with a maintenance contract which usually the tech goes over with me and sets it up. Maybe it was because the tech was new because he seemed very young. I must say though that AJ Perri is a very good and 99% of the time very dependable and professional company. We have had them do multiple projects at our house and they do a great job. Usually very happy with their level of service.

AJ Perri discovered that our original toilet had been installed improperly by the builder and over time a slow leak developed which resulted in our noticing a wet soft spot on the ceiling below. When the new toilet was installed AJ Perri made sure the pipes/plumbing underneath were at the proper height so that the new toilet was properly sealed on installation. On a completely different note, while the technician was up in the ceiling checking the damage and making sure the new pipes were installed at the correct height, he noticed a lot of warm air and dust in the space above the ceiling. It turned out that our clothes dryer pipe connection to the outside had become disconnected and it was no longer venting properly. We had no idea and this would have eventually become a fire hazard. If AJ Perri had not taken the time to properly inspect and install the new toilet we never would have known about the dryer problem!

Woke up one morning to find the water heater quit on us overnight. Called Perri and they were there within two hours. Replaced one part and we were back in business by lunch. A little on the pricey side but like everything else you get what you pay for.

They came promptly, diagnosed the problem--discussed solutions and installed a new, better low-flow toilet.

Two days after the insulation of a part I didn't need immediately, the furnace stopped working in the middle of a cold spell. I called and another tech advised that it was the wrong part and he replaced again, a piece I did not immediately need. Finally, three days later, the furnace stopped again and I called and threatened that I would give them one more chance before going to BBB. I waited for the tech in a freezing house and finally got the correct piece and installed.

Service was provided "free" as a result of an air conditioner installation. However, they found a part that supposedly was not performing up to par. Its replacement was over $200, although it looked like something that should cost no more than $20. Overall, Perri is good but they gouge.
