I have an old Dell 8300 Dimension PC with Windows XP. I purchased a discounted tuneup package from Dave's Computer Service in March, 2014. He responded to my purchase within minutes. However, I was unable to work with Dave's service at that time. At the end of June I contacted Dave's and once again he promptly responded. I explained all of my issues to "Sol", the technician: Virus removal -I needed to add more memory -PC extremely slow -At times computer would not boot up at all -Computer constantly attempts to access sites identified as "illegal" The need for added memory was the first step. He asked how much longer I intended to keep this computer. He said that he could not perform the needed diagnostics with the limited memory on my PC. He also advised that it might not be to my advantage to spend money on memory upgrade if I intended to keep the computer for several years because, Microsoft will no longer provide support for Windows XP. He told me what to look for and offered to assist the memory upgrade. Although, Sol spent a lot of time explaining the cause and effect of some of these problems, the hour did not start until after I added the memory. I opted for additional time for a full tune up, which took hours. The cost was very reasonable. I had to leave my house during the service so I asked if I should pay for the additional time. Sol said that he would not accept payment until the PC had been successfully repaired. If it could not be repaired I would not be charged the additional time. While the diagnostic was taking place I left the house. Upon my return I contacted Sol for an update. He had removed all viruses and completed the tuneup. He left 3 programs on my computer and explained what those programs would accomplish. I cannot say enough about the service. My aging computer has been given new life. Sol was professional, knowledgeable, highly proficient and very patient. I know that there are other computer repair service companies. However, once you find one that exceeds your expectations, as Dave's has mine, you stick with them. I give Dave's an A+ for customer service. I will return to Dave's for all my future computer service needs without reservation.

Dave contacted me regarding my order. We conversed by email, but due to my issue, he was unable to provide me with services due to the limited connectivity of the laptop with the issue. He asked if there was anything else he could help me with unfortunately there was not.

Service was purchased as one of Angie's Big Deals. Dave contacted me via email very quickly, asking for my availability and computer issues. On the first of my available dates and times, he emailed again to let me know he was online and ready to help. My computer is old and was running slowly and, frequently, choppy. Dave remotely scanned and cleaned up files and programs I didn't even know were there. He recommended a free antivirus program to replace the one I was using (which I pay for). I agreed to try it, so he uninstalled the one I had and installed the other. When my computer froze and we could no longer communicate online, I called him; and we finished up on the phone. He answered several questions I had and left me feeling confident that all that could be done was done. Although the coupon was for a $49 one-hour session, Dave worked on my computer for three hours at no extra cost. The bottom line is I need a new computer. But, thanks to Dave, the one I have is moving faster and more smoothly. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing assistance and would most certainly do business with him in the future.

It was well worth the price and the computer works great now. Restored its responsiveness 100%. Plus Dave made time for me, not the other way around. He took control of the computer and went to work. We stays in communication the entire time and I could see what and how he was cleaning up the computer.

My computer started freezing up a few days ago. I could not open files, programs would not load, and a couple of times the computer shut itself off. I tried restoring a backup file from before the problems started but that only worked briefly. I was a little reluctant to purchase a remote service "sight unseen" but the reviews for Dave's Computers were very favorable and the Big Deal was good. Dave contacted me less than 20 minutes after my purchase today and we were able to arrange service for this afternoon. Dave had me install (temporarily) a program so he could access my computer. He asked me to describe the problems I'd been having and then he went to work. I didn't have to do much after that beyond log back on a couple of times and then attempt some of the actions I'd been having problems with. Everything seems to be working well - and quickly. The temporary remote program has been removed and I am back in business!

OLDER COMPUTER - COST MORE TO FIX THAN TO REPLACE

I bought a $49 deal on Angie's list. The gentleman called shortly after and set up an appointment for the next day. He spent a hour or two tuning up the computer and when he finished the computer was much improved -- and still is. I would recommend this service to anyone with a challenged computer.

Very good. I thought i had a virus, he checked it and i didn't. He is very helpful. He follows up and he calls when your computer is ready. About a year ago i used him to service my computer.

They did a very good job. It is running very good. His prices are very reasonable. He did it in a very short time frame, which I needed. He didn't explain things; he just gave it back to me when he was finished. He was very good and I would use him again. It was a good value.

I'm very satisfied with what he had done. I like that it's a small business where you get to interact with the owner, he's very knowledgeable and gets things done quickly. I didn't have a long wait so I was very satisfied. I spent around $140.

It went very well. The tech was very responsive and communicated with me throughout the entire process via chat to keep me apprised of his progress, what he was seeing and how long things would take. The tech was very easy to communicate with, using plain English and laymen's terms, which is important. We also had a problem adding an email account to Outlook - which should be an easy chore but a few people who should know how to do this couldn't figure it out - but Dave's tech handled it very well and successfully got it installed.

Not his fault! I think the world left me behind some years ago...

Dave really knows what he's doing. His working interface for computer restoration is a wonder to behold. I always knew what was happening. And he offers sound advice. When possible, I'll take the long ride to visit his shop and meet him.

Good, although he wasn't able to fix the issue remotely, he told me exactly what to do to correct it going forward

It was a remote service which I didn't realize. After about 45 mins, turns out he wasn't able to actually fix my problem but told me what to do to remediate

My computer was highly infected. Dave's computer stuck with it for 5 hours until all of the issues were resolved. I am very satisfied, my computer is back up and running beautifully.

He did 95% good. He was recommended by my insurance agent.

He cleaned our laptop so that it's performance is quick and easy and got rid of the pop-ups. Very worthwhile and plan to use his service again and again for other laptops and desktops. Very professional. Just make sure you have time to work with him. Excellent service, excellent price!

Provider was able to override my system from his location, and set up the printer and get the laptops and iPads all networked with it. Provider was professional, knowledgeable and businesslike. He was able to answer my questions. I was most pleased with the service and will use it again if need be.

We started out a little rough. Dave worked remotely on about half of the job and then had to stop due to an emergency. I waited around for a long time for him to get back with me and began to get frustrated when I hadn’t heard from him. A few hours later he did contact me through a voicemail and asked if he could pick the work back up later that evening. I allowed him to and the work was finished around 8pm. A total of about 3 hours of work was done. I would have to say that the computers are worse off than when he started working on them. I had to hire someone else to work on them. There was some information and email contacts that got wiped out that I will have to restore.

He was great. I highly recommend him!
