Service tech was there within promised timeframe and got the job done. Not especially fast, but everything got done. I wasn't impressed with the final installation, but it is an office environment and it works.

Verizon sold me a keyboard to attach to the Samsung Tablet I bought through Verizon. When I hooked it up the product was chintzy - easily breakable plastic, horrible design, and we could not get it to work properly with the Tablet. I brought the item back to the store (in Danbury mall) explaining how sub-standard the keyboard was, how awkward the location of the cord's plug was and overall very dissatisfied with the product's quality and its price. The manager of the store (Danbury Mall) said there were no other products to offer me for that model tablet and that the 30-day day return policy had passed. I explained to her that I was in Europe for 17 of those days and this was the first opportunity we had to try it out and return it. I would have accepted a credit to purchase a different item. There was no customer service - just sent me packing. Told me to go back to the store I purchased it at. I told her this experience was enough for me to transfer my business elsewhere in December when my service contract is up. She was totally unaffected. Apple stood behind their products and had the flexibility to listen to the customer to make an intelligent decision to provide a credit or an alternative. Verizon has failed me on several occasions. I found the service people were not current on their technology and I had to come home an use the online customer support to rectify other issues in the past.

My complaint is with the seemingly arbitrary and often quite capricious policies that Verizon corporate develops and expects that their employees follow regardless of whether they make any sense or not. Verizon arbitrarily disconnected our telephone service (circa Hurricane Sandy). It took approximately one month of many, many phone calls from our friends to Verizon before we were able to get a response. Originally Verizon stated that the so-called and quot;upgradeand quot; to fiber optics would be of no charge to us. Then the Verizon tech discovered that there was no dedicated electrical outlet where they had to install their equipment. Originally Verizon insisted that we pay for an electrician to install a dedicated outlet for their equipment. I pointed out that Verizon had explicitly stated that the so-called and quot;upgradeand quot; to fiber optics would be of no cost to the end user and that all of their advertising literature reinforced this point. Finally Verizon scheduled one of their contract electrical contractors to do the necessary installation. In the interim however, we were without phone service for almost one month. Once the installation was performed, what's missing is the actual connection speed that I'm paying for. I asked for 75/35 internet connection speeds. I'm lucky to see 25 or 30% of the advertised speed on any given day. After a number of telephone calls to Verizon tech support I learned that Verizon would only guarantee that speed to the entry point of the house, not to my PC. The distance from Verizon's wireless router to my laptop is maybe 25 or 30 feet at most. The laptop is a relatively new ThinkPad and everything on it works perfectly. In order to realize the 75/35 speed that I'm paying for every month, I would have to physically connect the laptop to Verizon's and quot;wirelessand quot; router with a CAT5 cable. This of course completely negates the rationale for installing a wireless router in the first place. If I had known that there would be such a significant reduction in connection speed at the time of the installation I would have requested that the installer put in a CAT5 connection that would reach my laptop in the next room. If that had been the case, the installation of a CAT5 cable connection would have been part of the original installation. Now Verizon wants me to pay (dearly!) in order to send a technician out to the house to rectify this issue. So far I have refused to do so because this should have been taken care of as part of the original installation. The end result of this merry-go-round is that I am DEFINITELY NOT a happy Verizon customer. Verizon FIOS provides 2500 (!!!) channels. Can you believe that?! This is absurd! If I made a full time career out of watching TV, I couldn't even begin to watch a tiny fraction of all this and quot;stuffand quot;. Why is the end customer required to subsidize this kind of absurdity? Lately I have started researching alternatives to Verizon. When and if I find a viable alternative it'll be goodbye Verizon FIOS.

Ugh, great deal for year one, then horrid for year 2 but I am stuck. Called customer service- you can't complain online with any results- and even though the deals for new customers are extremely low, they cannot offer anything for an existing customer.

From the internet sign up to the customer service, the installation...we are so happy to be back with verizon. The cable company we were with had confrontational customer service and the DVr never worked correctly. This installation was flawless and the installer even called me to make a better suggestion for placing the modem in a better location. I just had to share because it has been a relief!

Technicians often do not show at the time scheduled; partially fix it and then do not return and I have needed to pursue them repeatedly to schedule a 2nd visit that Verizon is not even aware is needed. I would switch to Cablevision, but my past experience with them was poor also, though in different ways. When the service is functioning correctly it generally functions well, with good quality.
Description of Work: We have FIOS service. At least once per year the service has gone partly down (usually the Internet). Usually a service call is required.

I noticed that the price of caller id was going to be raised, and since I usually did not use my land line telephone anyway, I called to cancel the service. The Customer Service Representative was very patient and not overly pushy.

While the technicians themselves are generally nice and somewhat competent once they arrive, scheduling them and having them actually show up on time to the right location is a huge pain. The most recent technician found and quot;nothing wrongand quot; with our internet service even though my laptop could not connect at all while the Imac could. I also told him about the repeated problem of laptop defaulting to EVERY OTHER wireless service in our apartment building instead of ours. He tinkered around for a long time, then apologized that he was unable to do anything about it. Calling the 1800 number to schedule service is like talking to a teflon wall; the company first tries to get you to realize there's not a problem, then tries to get you to hunt around the apartment on your hands and knees for cables and wires to plug in and out yourself to see if they can solve it by phone (idiotic -- what am I paying for? send a technician!), then schedules someone but won't commit to a specific time slot, then reschedules... after numerous texts and calls, a and quot;missed appointmentand quot; etc. one can generally FINALLY get a Verizon technician into one's home, but then half the time they can't even fix the problem. Horrible company and service.
Description of Work: Our internet has been slow and occasionally completely down since switching to Verizon. We call periodically for service, which is rarely satisfactory and fixes the problem maybe half the time.

Whatever deal we signed on, they ended up giving us showtime in HBO or their included in whatever package we got. They we cheaper than Comcast and we felt that we got much better customer service with them. Their internet speed has a faster connection.

Verizon's Wireless customer service, in my opinion, is terrible. I was disconnected after waiting on hold for almost 20 minutes because they were busy (according to the recorded message just before they disconnected me). On line chat was a waste of time. In addition they have, without much warning, changed the discounts being offered and entire groups of people who were eligible for discounts have been dropped from the program. Very poor customer service.

My experience with them has been excellent. They can improve on their prices, but the quality on their phone and internet is basically second to none. Sometimes, it takes a little while to get a hold of someone in customer service, but when I have got someone, they usually resolved the problem.

The installation went well, however I brought my equipment from my previous address with me, two set-top boxes, one DVR box, and one Modem. The technician upgraded my DVR box, and Modem, and re-installed the remaining two boxes. The old DVR box and Modem were taken by the Technician. In December 2012, I received a call from Verizon stating that I hadn't returned my equipment and that they were billing me for approximately $511.00. I explained that I moved my equipment with me, and that the outdated equipment was removed by the Technician. They keep opening a Rock Ticket to find out what happened to the equipment, and say they will get back to me, but they never do, meanwhile the bill for this fictitious equipment went to collections, and I am getting phone calls everyday. My next step is to report them to the FCC and PUC.

I like them, but I wish they were less expensive. Their internet is pretty fast because we have the fastest version of what they offered, so it's pretty good and we really have no complaints about it. I have the basic cell phone that their is. I'm not a hi-tech person and the least located phone is what I have as where my wife has just a step above me. It's non hi-tech. I'm happy with it and when the phone rings I answer it and that's it. I don't have to think too much and that's fine with me. I wouldn't say they are the very best, but they are very good. Sometimes you give them a call and have to wait ten days for them to come. Over the phone I can get the problem solved in like five or ten minutes which is not so bad because they are pretty quick in solving it. They're okay, but if I got a better offer for the same thing I wouldn't use them again.

They are reliable. It will be slow sometimes and I think it could be optimized, but apart from that they are good. Apart from their wait time I think the customer service is pretty good in trying to help you. We would continue to use them.

It is expensive and I am not as happy as I was with my prior provider, but I don't have the options for my prior provider. My problem with them is not really the landline, it's their cable services. They can't do anything better with my landline. The phone service is fine, it's just the price.

I have no problems with them. They're responsive and their service works. I'd had some problems with Optimum, but since that time I haven't had any issues. My entire bundle, with taxes included is $179. Customer service is very professional.

We recently moved to the area. We had had cable for 25 years, but when checking it out, we decided to go with Verizon Fios because the Internet speeds were better, and the local cable has a less than stellar reputation. So far we have been quite satisfied. There have been no TV outages in the nine months we have been here. They offer online chat tech support as well as telephone, and the online people have been really great to work with. (We had a cable box go bad, they helped me test it, determined it was the cause, and sent me a new box through UPS with return labels for the bad one. I didn't have to wait for a tech appointment or go anywhere.) It even came right back on with the power after Hurricane Sandy! The price is very competitive, if not better than, most of the alternatives.

We have switched our business phone lines and internet to Verizon, as they offered a better deal that would save us some money. It was a total disaster, from day one, till the last minute we switched to Optimum... Verizon couldn't get all the lines switched over (?!?), they had problems, upon problems and after approx. 6 months of trying, the lines were still not transferred properly (the hunt group was all screwed up) and they even lost one line in the process (can you believe that...?). It took a few more months, to locate it and finally get it back... BEWARE! They are a nightmare and their customer service is totally useless... Until today, more then a year later (!!!) we are still dealing with them, because of mistakes in billings, etc.
