Description of Work: Second time using Bob and Weather-Tite. Peace of mind at our new house. I didn’t even call anybody else. Bobs prices are fair, realistic and the work is done well by a responsible crew. The new house had a finished basement but (fortunately) took on some water the day before we closed on it. Bob’s crew went underneath the sill plate leaving the walls in tact which saves us a ton of money and time in the future. Bob’s veteran crew left our house cleaner than they found it, and again left me at ease knowing now I can get moving on this man cave! Bob Lindsay is a reliable, fair, and approachable guy and we’ll happily support and vouch for his company any day of the week.

Weather-Tite's work was very professional. As promised, they came in with a crew of six and got the job done exactly as they had proposed. All in just two days! They also did a great job of mitigating dust and clean up afterwards.

I just had french drains and a battery-backup sump system installed in my basement. I had a great experience with Bob and his team. Bob is exceptionally knowledgeable having been in the business for several decades. He and his crew were very organized and finished the work on time. They cleaned up after themselves and restored everything to the original condition or better. Thank you Bob, Romeo, Ed, and all the other guys for your work. Looks good.

I spoke to and met with several companies before hiring Weather-Tite Waterproofing. As a licensed builder for over 30 years, reliability is as important to me as is cost. This job was extensive due to the condition of the basement and the high water table on the property. There was a full height basement and a separate 3' high crawl space that required the workers to use a special concrete cutter and work in less than ideal conditions. The work began the exact day that Robert Lindsay promised, with 6 men overhauling the wet basement. They worked every day until the job was completed, which was a total of 4 days. They put in a professional water proofing system around the entire border of the basement and crawl space, installed the new concrete, wire brushed all the walls, put on the water-resistant primer and painted the walls. They repainted the concrete floor, removed an undersized sump pump pit and installed two proper sized pits with two new sump pumps in the correct location and removed mold under the stairs. This was a massive job and I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

The owner, Bob Lindsay, was very responsive. He and his workers did a very good job and were punctual. I was very satisfied with his professionalism and the quality of the work. He was very thorough but at the same time did not do more than what was absolutely necessary.

Those of us in Jersey can attest that the rain has been super problematic this year. After ten years in my home, my basement was flooding consistently. I contacted Bob at Westher Tite as well as 2 or 3 other companies for emergency diagnosis and repair. Bob was the first to reply, very informative and had the issue fixed within the week! He and his crew were punctual and professional. Once the work was completed, my basement was spotless. No signs of moisture or dust anywhere! Bob was helpful in explaining everything. Pricing was fair not the most nor the least expensive estimate. The VALUE, however was spot on! The rainfall hasn’t let up a bit and not a drop of water in my basement.

Let me start by saying that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Weather – Tite Waterproofing to anyone who has water in their basement. They were incredibly professional and did top notch work. I had been getting water in my basement on and off for years. After fixing the gutters and fixing the roof it was time to address the basement. I consulted with three different Angie’s List companies (all very highly rated). Each company had a slightly different price but more importantly a different approach to resolving the problem. I picked Weather – Tite because I was comfortable with the approach that they proposed, and the price was in line with the other quotes. The work took 2 days. Day 1 was spent digging the trenches around the interior of the basement. Day 2 was spent putting in the stones and piping and hooking it all up to the sump pump. As you can imagine, putting in a drainage system is messy work – you would have been none the wiser – my whole house was spotless (including the basement) – no dust anywhere. The work was so professional that I had them come back and put up the baseboard and sheet rock. I can happily say that since the work has been completed, we have had quite a few heavy rains, and my basement has stayed dry.

I have waited six months to write this review, because every time it rains, I intently scan my basements floors and walls..This is out of habit.. For years, every time it rained I wouldn't be able to comfortably enjoy the sound and relax. My wife and I finally decided to get someone in there to look at the problem. I knew I wanted to use Bob the minute I met him; honest, fair, and competetive. He didn't try to upsell me, he agreed that I only needed to do the "wet" portion of my basement. He also replaced my sump-basins free of charge, commenting they were the size of an ice cream bucket and he wouldn't feel comfortable leaving them in that condition. The work was completed in December, and it was an extremely messy job, as it had rained a few days previously. Watching his crew work was an amazing experience, and I actually shed a tear when watching one of his team re-cement the floor when the job was complete. He assured me I'd never have to worry about water again. My basement HAS been bone-dry since he helped us out. Bob was not the cheapest, but his demeanor and experience provided the reassurance my wife and I were willing to pay a few hundred dollars for. I would wholeheartedly recommend his service to anyone sick of rolling their eyes whenever it rains. Thanks so much, Bob!

Bob installed a partial French drain system and a sump pump with battery backup in November. He and his crew came on time, worked efficiently, and did a nice job. Because my water heater was very close to the wall, they laid the PVC pipes by tunneling underneath the water heater. A few days later, we had soaking rain. The new drain system held up well except for the area behind the water heater where the floor was not drilled. Water seeped through there. We contacted Bob, who came to look at the problem and said that he could drill the floor and add wall flashing behind the water heater but it had to be moved aside for a while. This posed a big challenge for us. We would have to find a plumber who could coordinate his visits (one visit to remove the heater, another one to put it back) with Bob’s schedule. In the end, it was Bob who found us a plumber before Christmas and did the coordination between them. Thanks to him, we had hot water by day’s end, and a dry basement since then. Bob stood behind his service and had the customer’s best interest in mind. He not only earned our business, but also earned our trust. I strongly recommend him.

Hired Bob for the second time - and can’t say enough about his professionalism and quality of work. He fixed a job that was done poorly from another contractor and now my basement is completely dry. He also helped me solve a nagging problem with my gutter system that wasn’t properly drained when it was installed. I would definitely hire him again and he is my go to guy for anything dry basement or drainage related

Very well. Robert Lindsay and his team were great. The installation of the pump and drains required some intense work during a very hot week and his team did a great job in dealing with the dirt and dust from the concrete removal and taking care of my property. Excellent work ethic and taking care of the customer. His team members were all professional and personable and did great work. Mr. Lindsay was responsive to my needs and worked with me, explaining and answering all my questions. He also returned several times to deal with any problems resulting from problems with the depth of the sump and pump due to the nature of the soil under my foundation and the problem was rectified.

They arrived around 9:00 AM with trucks and all kinds of equipment, then went to work drilling trenches around the edges of my basement and installing filter fabric, gravel, and perforated PVC pipes. They were finished at about 1:00, and everything was done perfectly. Since then, I had sheet rock repaired and painted and then vinyl tile flooring installed. It's very reassuring to know that my "new" basement is protected by those French drains.
Description of Work: After a flood in my basement, I needed to rip out all the carpeting. I never wanted this to happen again. So after meeting with a few contractors, I hired Weather-Tite to install French drains.

Called in three separate companies. I had an idea what I was looking for because a plumber had told my wife and I we should have two pits. The first company told us one pit, and add ons like flashing, battery back-up, etc. would add to the price. The second company was more like a start up, nice guys, but they wanted to put in a water backup, and if you do some reading, you'll quickly find out your home probably doesn't have enough water pressure to support this, and he wanted to put the exit valve right in the middle of my front lawn. None of this sounded attractive. Lastly we asked Bob from Weather-Tite to come in. He was extremely open and honest, told us how he would do things, and what we would get for the price. I liked his straight forward approach. I liked his ideas and his overall presentation. From start to finish he was always available via email or telephone, and was the only person to bid on the project to place a follow up phone call to see if we were interested in doing the work. The day work was to start, Bob was accommodating to my work schedule. He and his team had the basement setup and ready to go within 2 days. The work was completed as promised and looks good. Bob was even kind enough to throw in a few extras that he thought would be helpful if we were to ever finish the basement. His forethought allowed for the outside portion of the piping to remain concealed, while hooked into our existing dump line. Overall I'd like to give Weather-Tite an A+ on customer service, pricing, creativity and thought process. I can't tell you how the basement will perform during a storm, but there is a lifetime warranty on all work. That warranty is even transferable to the next owner for a REALLY small fee. I hope this review is helpful to all who read it. I strongly believe you can't go wrong with Weather-Tite.
Description of Work: I needed water proofing for my basement. When the home inspector came to do our final walk through, I remember him saying, "Someone spent a lot of money down here to water proof this basement." Boy was he wrong. Hurricane Irene was a disaster for us and every time it rained there after, my wife and I were afraid the basement would flood again. I changed out the pit, the pump, and surrounding cement myself, and things remained quiet. However, this season has been rainy in New Jersey and there was no water going into the pit. I had a bad feeling about the old clay pipe that I knew was under my basement floor. It was time to take action and call some folks in....

Bob's crew showed up on time and ready to work with the materials they needed to perform the work and enough men to complete the job in one day, as his cost estimate stated. His men were efficient, courteous, protected areas from getting dirty during work, and cleaned up after the work was completed. They hauled away all excess material and garbage generated from their work. Their workmanship was excellent, and the foundation drain and redirected roof leader work as discussed when Bob presented his solution to our specific drainage problem. The equipment has been in place and functioning for a month or more and has worked flawlessly. Bob's workers showed up at the house today to complete the touch-up concrete work around the garage that we had asked for, and it looks well done and solved our appearance issue. All in all, we are very pleased with the work performed by Bob and his men, and would highly recommend him to others and will be using him again if we need additional drainage work around the house.
Description of Work: We were looking to install a foundation drain along the exterior back wall of our garage to alleviate differential settling of some stone block steps and slate patio stone along the exterior garage wall and at the corner of our garage. The back yard is pitched toward the exterior garage wall, directing surface water runoff toward it. We also needed to capture roof leader runoff and redirect it away from the house so that it did not drain into the garage or infiltrate into the gap between the concrete slab garage floor and the edge of the driveway. A previous home-owner had the roof leader discharge roof runoff directly in front of the garage. After 7+ years in the house, the driveway has exhibited frost-heaving that is likely due to water infiltrating below the driveway and freezing during the winter months. This frost-heaving was further contributing to pitching roof runoff toward the garage. The concrete garage floor has older floor cracks, which have not gotten worse, but appear to be evidence of water getting below the slab. We received three quotes from local well respected landscapers that perform drainage work which ranged from $10,000 to $13,000, and as high as $18,000 if additional stone work was performed. Our budget was approximately $6,000. The options offered by the landscapers would have called for extended installation of piping and/or cutting through the driveway, front paver walk way, navigating past the water and gas service to the house, and cutting across the front yard. My wife did some further searching on Angie's List and found Bob Lindsay's company, Weather-Tite Waterproofing, Inc. and was impressed with their reviews. We called Bob, and he replied promptly and scheduled a visit to the house to look at our situation and provide a cost estimate to install the foundation drain. Bob was professional, courteous, concise and knowledgeable about our situation. After assessing our situation and discussing with him our other quotes, Bob offered up a different approach to handle our problem using an existing drainage system at the other back corner of our house. Bob proposed to install a foundation drain along the back exterior wall of the garage and steps at the corner of the garage, install and connect the foundation drain to a new sump pump to be installed in the back corner of the garage, and then pump out the water through 2-inch diameter PVC piping and connecting it into an existing channel drain at the other back corner of the house that directs water away from the house. We also had Bob Lindsay's company jack-hammer out the existing cracks in the garage floor and patch them, and re-direct the roof leader that was contributing to water discharge issues at the front of the garage. Lastly, we asked Bob to also do some touch-up concrete work around the garage area, at a separate date and for additional cost. We received a written, itemized cost estimate from Bob within a few days of his visit to the house and his cost came in below our budget. We decided to contract the services of Weather-Tite Waterproofing, Inc. to do the work based on his visit, his knowledge, his pricing, and ability to do the work quickly. Bob estimated one day to finish the work.
Bob and the crew at Weather-Tite did us a great service! Communication with Bob was straightforward and easily available. The crew was professional, clean, knowledgeable and worked hard and fast. Bob always had my and the houses best interest in mind as he help us make decisions that fit in our budget. There are always unexpected twist and turns on a project of this size and Bob took the time to call and consult my wants every time a decision needed to be made. Not only that, but Bob worked around my schedule and provided the service in stages to help with the financials and timing of other contractors need to complete the project. He also had his crew fix a few small things not on the list, just because he cared about the project and our home. I would highly reccomend Weather-Tite to anyone looking to make their basement into an impenetrable clean space in their home. Thanks Bob and the crew at Weather-Tite!
Description of Work: Our Basement flooded badly and we needed a solution. Bob provided me with many different options to fit in my budget and always had my and the houses best interests in mind. We were opting for a french drain, but upon digging the trench, we found that the floor was only 1 inch thick and broke up during the digging. This was unexpected for both Bob and I. We work closely with one another to make a pan for a new floor after the drain was installed. It was more than we all bargained for, but that's how it goes sometimes. By the end of the project, Bob and his team had installed the french drain, re pointed the loose mortar in the walls, dug out the existing floor, graveled, laid metal mesh and poured a new 4 inch floor through out the basement. This is the right way to do things and we're freaking solid down there now! Thanks Bob and the crew at Weather-Tite!

Bob (owner of Weather-Tite) showed up for the initial consultation punctually and gave me a very competitive price ($6500) and time-frame to water-proof 3/4 of the basement walls (the last side had an older but functional drain); plus, Bob's team would handle the prep-work and rebuild all of the walls after installation, which is why we ended up going with them. Day 1: Bob's team arrived around 8AM, rolled back the carpet and pad, covered everything in plastic or tarps, removed the drywall and wainscoting up to ~24" above the floor (left the studs/framing), and dug the trench. Day 2: Bob's team again arrived promptly and installed the french drains, pump, and cemented the floors. Day 3: two people arrived to re-install sheetrock and wainscoting. The workers did a nice job of minimizing the dust and debris in our finished basement (there's only so much you can do when you're dealing with busting up a concrete floor). The one thing that I wasn't so pleased with was the fact that a lot of water used during the process (cleaning, concrete curing, etc) made its way into the carpet pad, which the workers at the end of the process rolled back down and and put carpet back on top of without drying it out or letting me know it was wet -- after noticing the carpet was soaking wet, I rolled back a lot of the carpet and dried out the pad and carpet with towels and fans, which took about a week. If I hadn't caught this, we would have had a mold problem and possibly ruined carpet. Despite this, my experience with Weather-Tite was still very positive, and I would recommend them, the caveat being to check the job-site afterwards to make sure that everything is as clean and dry as possible. Of note: prior to contacting Weather-Tite, I had two other highly-rated waterproofing companies come out to quote on an intermittent but recurring water issue in my finished basement. One company quoted $12k to install french drains along all four walls of my basement and new pumps; this also included removing all wall coverings (including breaking up a shower and bathroom as well as the staircase) but did not include putting everything back together, which would have probably have been an additional $6-8k. The second company wanted $5300 to install drains on 1/2 of the walls, but that price didn't include removal or repair of the walls; I would have had to have paid a contractor to do both the pre-demo and the rebuilding. Again, Weather-Tite took care of everything, including prep and re-building.
Description of Work: Internal French Drain installed around 3/4 of our finished basement, drilled weep-holes in all cinder-block cavities, installed mira-drain paneling, expanded one drainage sump, and installed a new high-performance sump pump. Also included prep-work (removal of sheetrock/wainscoting and wood paneling) and re-installation of sheetrock/wainscoting.
I've used this company twice now. In the first instance (2014), we had a leaky basement and interviewed at least three different french drain companies. Bob Lindsay, from Weather-tite, immediately stood out as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable. A bit gruff, but the man knows what he's doing. Importantly, his team is top notch. Many times I've been in situations where the owner sells you on his services but the team doing the work is terrible. Not so with Weather-tite. His lead guys were amazing (a couple of the newer guys were not quite as ambitious, but the foremen and most of the team - -A-MAZING). They were there on time, worked quickly and efficiently, cleaned up like a dream. I couldn't believe how fast they dug up my entire basement, laid the pipe and put it back together again. Excellent all around. About a year later, we started getting little flies in the basement. Drain flies, sometimes called sewer flies. They seemed to be in the french drain and were coming up from behind the walls. It took close to a YEAR to find the source of these flies. I was killing more than 100 per day - they drove me crazy. I brought in a pesticide company, a contractor and three different plumbers to try to find the broken pipe. (I had an ongoing 7-10 page status report of every possible thing that could be causing these flies and what had been done - like I said, crazy!) Every single person who came to the house wanted to blame the french drain company. "They must have put a hole in the sewer line when they dug up the floor" they all said. I called Bob. I knew from working with Bob that he was a stand up guy. He stood behind his work and assured me that there was no way that happened. After numerous tests, the plumbers finally found the broken kitchen pipe that was the culprit and confirmed that it was NOT caused by the french drain installation. It was broken on the underside and had just rotted through. Unfortunately, the french drain system became contaminated with organic material from the broken pipe and became a ground zero for the flies. After the floor was dug up and the plumbers fixed the pipe, I literally had thousands of flies in my basement. The horror. I was regularly in tears. The practically brand new french drain system was totally contaminated. Bob's team came back with a different foreman, who was also excellent. This was a very unusual situation for a french drain company, but they took care of it like champs. They came in and suffered the storm of flies and dug out and removed the contaminated french drain pipes and the dirt underneath and reinstalled whole sections of the french drain with new pipes. Once again, they were on time, efficient and fixed the problem beautifully. One of the guys even patched up some of my outside stairs just because he had the concrete out and saw it needed fixing. It's now months later, I'm happily living with a dry, fly-free basement and my sanity has been stored. Was Weather-tite the cheapest estimate I got back in 2014? I don't think so (though they were comparable). But not everyone stands behind what they do like Bob does. The team, the workmanship and the follow through were top-notch. I highly recommend them.
