Description of Work: I received a refund as, despite numerous calls to the contractor to set up the window cleaning, they never would make an appointment as they said they were too busy! Eventually, I gave up and received a refund, as no service was provided.

Description of Work: They came on time and did a good job of cleaning the gutters. I am pleased with their service.

Description of Work: This was the second time that I used On The Spot Home Improvements for cleaning my gutters. They have done an awesome job both times. I will use them again, probably early part of next year.

Description of Work: I sent a written request for the service, while I was out of town. Received no answer. When I returned one week past expiration date, company refused to honor deal and make an appointment!

Description of Work: I contacted On-The-Spot after seeing good reviews on Angie's list. I wanted to remodel my front steps, change out the columns, run new electrical and replace the front door. I contacted them and set up an appointment and they arrived as promised on the appropriate date. Blaine was courteous and friendly. The next day, he provided me with an estimate of $7700, which I thought was a tad high for what I wanted done. When I kindly asked for a breakdown of the charges, and a price with removing one aspect of the project (decorative stone around the front entry), he responded that he would get back to me the following day. That was the LAST CONTACT I had with this company. I heard NO RESPONSE back from them, even when I sent another email requesting it. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I am only lead to believe that they were trying to completely overcharge me, because I cannot think of another logical reason why they would never respond back. Very disappointed in this company and glad I never got a chance to hire them.

Description of Work: Power washed outside the house. Prior to service, we informed the firm that the aluminum siding had been painted several years earlier and asked if the washing would damage or fade the paint. We were told the process was safe and there would be no issue. Well there was a problem and parts of some walls and trim on the house had washed the paint away leaving a blotchy look in its place. Called provider for some remedy and was told if WE had the paint the firm would send a crew to see if the spots could be patched. Since I had no leftover paint they offered to use white paint which was absurd given the color that was washed off was green. Not a good solution AT ALL!

Description of Work: The company performed pressure washing of all the vinyl siding for our home. They did a decent job. My one complaint was that one of the workers accidentally sprayed one of my window screens with the pressure washer and tore a hole through it. Otherwise, it was done as scheduled and they left the premises neat. I never did follow up with them to lodge a complaint and ask for reimbursement, so I don't know how they would have responded. The reason why I gave them a bad rating for responsiveness is that I called them shortly after Hurricane Irene in late August to do gutter cleaning and it took many phone calls and delays before the work was finally done. They initially promised me 2 weeks from the time I called. They never showed up. I made another call and they promised to come the following week. They never showed up. Finally after a third call they showed up on a random day the following week. I understand they had more important (read: lucrative) work to be done after a major hurricane, but, at least they could have just been upfront and told me it would be another few weeks instead of stringing me along. They did a decent job at a fair price so I'll use them again.

Description of Work: I haven't dealt with the company in many years, but I will let you know my experience. Not sure of the yr. sorry They were still in Wyckoff I contracted with them to fix cementing around my porches. That is what was agreed on for the $500 estimate. When we were talking, the owner, mentioned he could powerwash the porch as well, not changing the estimate. When the work was done, I was not home when they started, but my mother was. They proceeded to do the work and the next thing she knew someone was up on our roof. As I came home, there was a worker on my roof, the owner was there and they were powerwashing. I asked what someone was doing on my roof and he said that they went up there and discovered that I needed flashing and there were other issues. He could fix them for an additional charge. I explained it was a brand new roof several months old and to get that person off of the roof immediately. He then proceeded to tell me that the bill would include an addtional charge for the powerwashing. At the time close to $100. Explained that was not acceptable, I did not authorize someone on the roof, etc. He was verbally abusive until I suggested that I call the police. He then accepted the check for the estimate price. I have never had that with a contractor before or since. I do not like that he sent someone up on the roof-- They performed what I contracted for-but the extra situation is still in my head

Description of Work: Excellent job, arrived and completed as described. The owner is responsible via email and by phone. I live a long way from their office and they did exactly what was agreed upon

Description of Work: We used this service for gutter cleaning, and they also put a small extension on our drainpipe so that water wouldn't be exiting right beside the house. The work seemed okay, though they seemed rather fast compared to some services I used in the past (not on my cuurent house). The problem was the service. They could't spavin give me an estimate of whether they would be there in the morning or afternoon, so I had to stay home from work for a whole day. And then they didn't show up! No call, no explanation! When I tried to re-book, they just told me "We are coming on x date" - which turned out to be the one day all summer when we were going out of tow! It took 3 days and multiple calls and emails to reschedule. And they still could't even say whether it would be morning or afternoon. So I stayed home again. Gee, I just love wasting my vacation days like this. They did give me a 10% discount - big deal. I won't use this service again. The phone skills and manners of their staff could use work too.

Description of Work: I was concerned that my gutters needed replacement (I knew they needed cleaning). They responded quickly and reassured me that the gutters did not need replacement but only minor repair (and cleaning). I set up an appointment with them for that and for powerwashing my house as well. Both were done quickly and professionally. I will use this provider again for future work on our home.

Description of Work: I am very displeased the pricing I received, I had asked for a price on installing ceramic tile. This included removing commercial tile underneath the currently installed carpet. I was moving the carpet and all the furniture as well as supplying th tile. His quote was nearly $6000 for 350 square feet. That was absurd. My second best quote was $2500 and my best quote was from a local contractor for $650. They were not even in the same ballpark. The other job was my 9x9 laundry room. What I wanted was, the removal of a bathroom style sink, and installing a slop sink, including cleaning up the plumbing, ripping out two small walls and re sheet rocking them. They were also laying down simply vinyl sticky tiles over existing tile. There quote was almost $5000. Again, by two best quotes were $600 and $400, all by licensed contractors. I felt like i was being taken advantage of because we have a "nice house". The guy was supposed to "rework" the quotes after I sent a rather opinionated email and he would get back to me. this was two weeks ago. Still nothing. I will never even consider using them again or recommending them.

Description of Work: I saw the Angie's List Big Deal offer from On the Spot Home Improvements for a "full house Gutter Cleaning for $69 instead of $125 (they claimed.)I was a new Angie List member and eager to find a deal from a trustworthy company. Plus I know I have other work needed on my roof, so I figured I'd get an honest estimate on what I needed besides the cleaning. I called to make an appointment - a man named John called me back. He told me it would cost $15 more to have the job done because my home is a 2-story house. He said the deal only covers ranch houses. That was not stated anywhere in the offer. The ad had extensive fine print, which I read carefully, which said there would be extra charges for homes that had over 2500 square feet of gutters, which mine doesn't. When I said that, he said "Angie's List is responsible for lapses in the fine print." I told him Angie's List must get the content of the fine print from the service provider, but he didn't respond. He said it's a great deal anyway. I replied that is not the point. The service will be costing me 22% more than I was quoted. I didn't book the job. I was very upset and asked Angie's List for a refund. They issued one right away.
