Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

It took over a month to get the necessary paperwork from Mike Horn (610.342.7954), including serveral phone calls and e-mails. I had to contact the corporate office in Cincinnat (Pat Swanson pat.swanson@rrsc.com) to get any action. Today I received an e-mail from thei insurance company. They stated that they have tried several times to contact Mr. Horn, but have not received any return calls or any other acknowledgement. I have again contacted Pat Swanson to get some action. This has been going on now for two months, and there is still no resolution in sight.

The drain is a very odd one and tough to work with. A rat had burrowed in through the concrete and caused concrete to drop into our drain. He was able to do a great job and even built a mesh cover to keep from this happening again.

They had pretty good reviews and they were available.

First, a technician with only a camera was sent out even though I specifically said I needed tracking also. From calling around, lots of plumbers have cameras, few also have the tracking equipment. When the technician with the right equipment came, he did an excellent job. He was very informative.

We have been super happy with them. They are very prompt. They respond very quickly to service calls. They are very though when they are here. They take the time to respond to the issue.

The serviceman was on time and very helpful. He took a look at the problem, cleaned the drain, then gave us some types on how to prevent the problem again. The prices is seems a bit high for a drain cleaning, but the service was great. We'll use them again.

We called roto-rooter and they were prompt and came within about 2 1/2 hours. The worker was very nice and he did the work in a quick manner and got the leak stopped using epoxy. I really appreciated that they were able to make it out quickly to do the work.

The work was excellent. Oscar saved the day. The toilets backed up before the wedding and he was able to come out right away and fix the toilets. He was wonderful. He showed up right away in an emergency situation.

I was very satisfied. I would use them again in the future if need be.

I called the night before. They would have come out that night if it was a clog on an interior drain. They promised to be out first thing in the morning. The plumber got there right on time (the earlier part of the "window" 8:00ish). He called before he got there to confirm we were home. He looked at the issue, told me what it would cost, and that he may not be able to fix it with just a snake, but it would cost $55 if he couldn't get it unclogged, and $300ish if he could. He used a video scope to tell me exactly where in the pipe (how far from the top) the clog was that he couldn't get out. It was a win/win price wise, but unfortunately his quote to cut the concrete and replace the pipe that has a root growing through it is out of my budget

I called Roto Rooter for a plumber to fix/replace the broken water pipe in my garage. The spigot that attaches to the garden hose had broken off. I wanted the pipe replaced (about 3 ft.) and a shut off valve installed. They sent a young man who looked to be about 17 years old and was dressed in jeans and a tee shirt with a baseball cap turned to the side. He informed me that he had no pipe in his truck and quoted me a price of $600.00 to do the job. When I protested, he asked, "What price did you have in mind?" I told him I was not about to negotiate with him when he wasn't even prepared to do the job since he had no pipe on his truck. I thanked him for coming and sent him on his way. I am surprised and appalled that a company of this size would allow itself to be represented in such an unprofessional manner. I will not contact them again.

I called and explained in detail what the problem was. Rain gutters go into pipes underground and the water is collecting near the house so underground pipes are either clogged or broken. Told someone would be out between 8 and 12 the next day. I received a call around 10:30 telling me I was the next appointment but they might be a bit late since some jobs take longer than anticipated. I called back around 1 to find out the status and was told I should hear from them 'soon'. An hour later I get a call telling me the technician is in my town and on the way. An hour later, the technician finally arrives. As soon as he shows up he tells me he can't do anything to help me out because my job requires a bigger truck with special equipment that cost $970 for the first two hours. I waited at home for 7 hours to be told they couldn't do anything. The only saving grace is that they didn't try to charge a service fee for showing up.

They didn’t do the entire job but did it in union with the problem. They were very professional and did a good job. Their quality of service was very good.

I thought they were just right on. They came out and they did what I had asked them to. I just had a small towel and something else. So I just dumped it out without noticing the towel. I thought they were kind of expensive but not different from anybody else. They didn’t have quite the right snake with them but they were still able to do it. It would have probably been better if they had the right snake with them. They were able to do the job with what they had. They were responsive and came right out. I will probably not use their services again in the future.

The guy cam in and said I had to do a snake of the entire pipeline but no guarantees that the smell would go away. He thought there was a blockage. Did the drain snaking and left. Smell still there so I started pulling all of the shelves in the laundry room. Found an open drain pipe where a sink was supposed to be. It had no pipe block. That was the real source of the smell. Got a $3.50 rubber cover from Home Depot and fixed the problem. Did not really need Roto Rooter. UPDATE: I was surprised when the manager called and said that they would refund the entire cost of the job since they read the feedback above. This is good customer service even if the first encounter did not go as planned. I think I will try them again if I have an issue with drains. I upgraded the responsiveness and professionalism to A and changed the Will you use them again response to YES.

Company was very responsive - field tech showed up within a couple of hours of my call. Youngish, enthusiastic technician; the 'B' for professionalism was his dogmatism on certain issues (eg, "the garbage disposal really isn't a disposal;" "you should only use hot water when running the disposal") that may or may not be accurate. However, writing this several months later, he appeared to have diagnosed and treated my chronically clogged drain correctly. I elected to have the faucet replaced at the same time with their "RotoRooter" brand -- not terrible looking, and the company logo really isn't visible unless you look closely. Very expensive service; I managed to negotiate the price down from $700 to $600 but still seems like a lot for what was provided ... but then again, I paid it, probably in large part for their quick response to my call.

They had good customer services and were responsive.

He did a very good job. I would highly recommend him.

Overall, the experience has been good. We've used their services in the past. They're dependable, knowledgeable, and don't try to upsell anything. Their prices are competitive. I'm happy with their services.

They are a national franchise, so you just call a main number and they bring their local guy. When I got up in the morning of a new year’s day, I found out that my sewer line had blocked up and was flooding in the first floor. I called them and they were at my house in an hour and did an emergency plumbing service. They cleaned the sewers out and they did a thorough job and took it all the way out. They inspected it visually with a camera and told me what the problem was and what options I had. They had it all fixed and resolved in about two hours. I was happy that they showed up and took care of business for me and they did a great job. They were not cheap, but they weren’t outrageous either. The price was fair and the work was thorough. I would use their service in the future.

Roto Rooter is responsive and punctual about showing up to do the work. Their servicemen seem to be professional and knowledgeable. However, each time they've come here, we've been required to run to the hardware store to purchase a new drain cover for outside of the house because the old one (or not so old) is broken in the process of removing it. This time, the serviceman drilled from outside the house right up into--and through-- the bowl of our downstairs toilet. He was duly mortified and replaced the toilet immediately, obviously at no cost to us. The quality of the replacement toilet is not comparable to the old one, a great deal of time was consumed rectifying the situation, and I was left to contend with the resulting mess. We were charged the full fee for the requested work...no discount was offered to compensate for our inconvenience. Accidents happen, but this one seemed totally avoidable. We'll think twice about calling this company again.

They are responsive. The person who came the last time was a very nice man and he seemed to know what he was doing. It was a difficult job. He was here almost seven hours trying to solve the problem. He was worth the money.

We had tried to do it ourselves and we couldn’t, so they had to troubleshoot and figure out where the blockage was. When we called them, they hooked us up with whoever was closest to us. They were clean and did a good job; we had no problems. Their price was reasonable. We would use them again in the future if necessary.

Was several hours late and as a result I missed a family event. Completed the job. Accepted the senior discount but not the Angie's List coupon. Had to call back 3 days later as I noticed the garbage disposal was leaking. The trap that was installed was too long and it was then shortened.

Everything went very well. I had used their services at my work place, so I had a good understanding of their work.
