Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

This is an absolutely horrible company. After our basement was flooded during a storm, I hired them for mitigation work as nonoe of the other mitigation companies are available. They robbed me, charged me 9k for a 200 sqft area clean up. They are unethical, unprofessional and thieves. I wish I rather had my basement rot than get involved with these guys. Hire then at your own peril.

The service was great, I just think it's expensive. But the guy is extremely nice and I don't have any complaints about it.

The technician ran a camera from the home to street. The sewer line was clear with no damage seen. I was given a copy of the camera tape for future use.

Excellent service, I called around 6 on a Saturday night after failing to clear the drain myself with a 20-foot 1/4" auger. The woman who answered the phone was courteous and professional, I was given a specific time of 8:30 (not a window). The technician (Leon Antonetti) called ahead and arrived early. He was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and professional, after performing a video inspection to narrow down the location of the blockage, he had it cleared up in under half an hour. Highly recommend the Runnemede location and Leon in particular.

This company is toxic- do not patronize them. They refused to give me a price range for simply snaking one toilet. That should have warned me off, but it was a bit of an emergency. (My regular plumber was unavailable.) They arrived 95 minutes after being called, and I was told the job would cost $210. I refused. I was then offered a "discount", reducing the price to $185. I should have told them to leave, but it was getting late in the day. This is robbery, plain and simple. There should be no negotiating on price, it should be fair and fixed. To add insult to injury, clean up is an extra fee! They left the place dirty, worse than when they found it. There we two of them, why I'm not certain. The phone operators don't give you the $210 quote because they know what will happen. This is not ignorance on their part, it is part of the business model to lie. The haggling over price just made the whole event even more sleazy. NEVER call this company, do yourself a big favor.

The team member went into my basement, told me that he didn't smell anything and couldn't reach the pipe (it's mostly concealed behind a finished basement), and therefore there was nothing further he would do. He left, and radioed in "there is nothing wrong" on the way out. Waste of my time.

Punctual, Quick, efficient, explained everything, cleaned after themselves

It was something really, really quick. We've ended up using them a couple of times, usually like for emergency plumbing, blockages, over flowed hose. I think because we've used them so many times it might have been their standard fee. They didn't actually charge us for the job. I think we were looking for emergency plumbing, just a general google search. Just their responsiveness and their pricing was reasonable. They also offer financing. We've been really happy with them.

They were able to get it done. The other company was suppose to be so expensive but they charged $250 for this same service. Right on time. I would not use them again, too expensive.

It went very well. For as many times as they came back, their price can be an "A". I was very happy with everyone of them except for one guy that came out. We did call and talked to Rotor Rooter about that. I can't hold that against the company that one guy out of like ten of them that went in and out of here was kind of a jacka**. We called and talked to them about it and they said they would handle it. For professionalism, all but that one guy: "A".

One thing they did do was miss that little pipe that went off to the basement on the side, but it was in an odd spot. I guess I can't hold that against them. I wish they would have caught that because then we wouldn't have had all the other problems.

I called on Father's day (Sunday 2017) to get a blockage of the main drain/main sewer line cleared. I chose Roto-rooter because I used them in 2012 when I lived in Lawrenceville, NJ and found them to be very professional, courteous, and a good value for the services delivered. Unfortunately, Lawrenceville, NJ is covered by a different franchisee, and my experience here in Haddon Township was NOT as pleasant. I had to work, and had a friend at the house to let in the plumber Roto-rooter sent out. I asked the plumber to call me. He told me I had a blocked main drain and the price to clear it. I paid him & they cleared the line. I received no additional call backs during or after the job. The plumber did not mention anything about breaks in the line or lack of a guarantee to me. He did, however, write on receipt that he left - AFTER I paid "no guarantee" because the line was "busted." He also wrote a >$6,500 estimate to come replace the main line to the house which I was later told was old clay style pipe. I have had a sewer line breakage repaired in a former home in 2012, and the cost was closer to $3,000 (this done by Root-rooter of NORTH Jersey). Suspecting the estimate was inflated, I called a few other plumbers to ask for other estimates. I contacted 4 plumbers form Angie's list and all of them cautioned me that Roto-rooter was known for pressing for replacements that aren't really needed. Hoping to give Roto-rooter the benefit of the doubt, I called to ask about the specifics of the line break and estimate. The plumber that serviced my house called me back in a timely fashion & told me it was "root breaks." When I told him about my experience with previous repairs, he complained to me about the cost of getting a crew, and the possibility of other contractors underestimating. His explanation made no sense and was rather unprofessional. It got less and less coherent when I told him the other repair was also with a Roto-rooter subsidiary. My line re-clogged less than 2 weeks later (last night). Since I wasn't sure what to think of Root-rooter, I hired a different plumber to come clear it. The new plumber was very friendly, professional, and made quick work of the blockage. This plumber told me I have cast iron pipes (contradicting what the Root-rooter contractor told me), and that he cleared a lot of roots, mostly from the trap. The second plumber was apologetic that I had to pay a second time as Roto-rooter usually gives a 1 year warranty, and I should have been able to get that. He said he was sorry, but it seems the previous service person had not properly or fully cleared my blockage, because roots don't grow back that fast. He also said if I had a real break in the line, there would be sand and there was NO sand. The second plumber also did an enzymatic treatment (to help keep roots from regrowing as quickly, and should have been done the first time). The second plumber also gave me a 1 year guarantee for almost $100 less than Roto-rooter's first job (even though the second plumber came out after 10pm on a Saturday night). You will probably get better quality, more honest service for less if you go with someone else. I have filed a complaint with customer service and will update this review if/when I hear from Root-rooter corporate.

Water showed up in powder room but was not the source. Located the leak to be in the upstairs bathroom hot water supply. Vanity in both the powder room and bathroom. The plumbers were great. Did not know them as plumbers. Always looked at them as drain cleaners. Will use them again.

As well as can be expected considering the scope of the job.

It was quite a process. I was not at home during the process. However the basement was cleaned and large fans were used to dry out the basement. Secondly once the trap was completed, I felt some relief in knowing that for the next job, that would not be an issue. I still need more work done though.

Schedualed for them to come out and was told they would be here by 6:30 pm. At 5:30pm they called and said they were running behind. It's now 10:15pm. No phone call no show. Called to find out what was going on and they rescheduled for tomorrow, weather permitting. That will make day 3 that I cannot use my toilet or water. I explained this 3 times and they brushed it off as no big deal.

It was hard for me to judge, it happen on a weekend so they were gonna charge more on a weekend.

They are really good. My experience was pretty straightforward. It was pleasant. They got here quickly, did the job, and were out of here quickly.

They did a very good job. They were very, very good. They came right out and resolved the situation. They cleared it out. I had a positive experience. Price was reasonable. I was very pleased with the price. They came out pretty quickly. Punctuality was excellent. They came out and they wore their uniforms. They were professional.

Responsive, clean, went right to work, fixed the problem and answered my questions as to what we may have done that caused the problem. I really appreciate it when a technician takes the time to instruct us as how to avoid the same problem in the future.

Service tech did a great job. Forgot to mention that I was on crutches and I allowed him into the house while I was attending to the water meter on my knees and disadvantaged.
