The showed up within a hour got the job done quickly

It was a very difficult job because the thread was stripped. He did a very good job, it was fixed perfectly. He got it done in a reasonable amount of time, and charged me a reasonable amount for the material used.

Company called to tell me time of arrival. Plumber arrived on time. Came in and assessed to problem. Gave good price and fixed the problem. Very happy!!

I scheduled an appt for service 3 days before it was forcasted to rain in case my garage flooded again like it had 2 weeks prior. The first time the water backed-up, it receded after the rain stopped. This time it didn't but since I had already called and scheduled an appt., I was not concerned. I have used Roto Rooter in the past to clear my sewage drains which sometimes get clogged with tree roots. The service man did not arrive within my scheduled window but it was a high volume call day because of all the rain and other flooding in the City in the past few days. I expected this and customer service explained and warned that they were experiencing delays. Fortunately, I had the time time to wait. The service man snaked a drain in my basement and in front of the house until the water receded and the sewer line was cleared of an amazing amount of tree roots --which he showed me. Since I don't know what another plumbing service would have charged, I didn't know how to rate the price of this service. I thought the price was high but it was not safe to have standing water in my garage....so, when I was quoted $370, I agreed to it. It came to over $400 because I purchased tree root destroying granules. The service man was courteous, apologetic for the delay and worked as hard as he could to ensure my sewer line was clear of debris. I appreciated how hard he worked.

He did a good job. It is still working and that was a couple of months ago.

Came to my house because I was concerned that my washing machine (on the first floor) had drained into my utility tub in the basement. I did plunge the basement tub and got things flowing, but was worried that I had some partial obstruction in the sewer line, because when my son was in the shower, I could hear gurgling in the water traps on the main floor. I called the main 1-800 number from their website, and they were going to come right away, for a free estimate. The roads were icy and I said come the next day, no emergency. The gentleman Duane showed up on time, called first. He was lovely to interact with, ran all my water at once and told me I didn't have a problem and was not in need of their services. So I will definitely call them when I am. He did say that had I needed it, it would be around 300.

I didn't have a good experience with this Roto-Rooter branch. I'm posting my story below because it did happen and if it happens to someone else hopefully they can avoid paying for unnecessary repairs. If a situation doesn't feel right when dealing with ANY provider get a second opinion. I will say that I believe what happened with me is an issue with the individual technicians that came to my home and NOT representative of the branch as a whole. The branch manager, Jerry Dilks, was very professional and courteous and gave me a full refund without any hassle. He was apologetic and upset by the situation as well. I don't believe he knew what was happening until I brought it to his attention and he rectified the situation. _________________________________________________________________ On 12/3/13 my sewer line started backing up into my utility sink and our toilet started to gurgle when I was taking a shower. As a first time homeowner, I panicked and called Roto-Rooter in Camden, NJ to come out and unclog our line. Luis, an employee who I'm pretty sure isn't a licensed plumber, came out to my home to see what the problem was and unclog my line. Since we don't have a clean out in the front of our house he said he would have to go into our sewer line through the roof which would be extra since it is a 2 man job. Luis had to call his pal Angel to come and help with the job. Once Angel got here the two of them were speaking in Spanish the entire time so I had no idea what they were saying. Luis said he unclogged the line and was going to inspect the line with a camera as a courtesy. Once he did that, he called me outside and showed me the camera and said my lines were in horrible condition and were about to collapse. Not far into the line the camera hit a "black spot" that Luis said was a clog or a collapsed pipe. He said this was just outside of the house and I would have to get the line replaced. Luis and Angel cleaned up and then Luis came in with more information, the bill for that day, and an estimate for future repairs. He said that my pipes are working now but will only last 2-3 days and to not put any toilet paper down the drain. This man actually told me to get a special garbage can for used toilet paper. On the bill he wrote clearly that he "lost money" on this job (they were there for about an hour) and that there were no guarantees on the work unless I put a deposit down for the additional work that needed to be done. He had me sign by that statement and said it was policy (when I talked to the office manager he said there was a 6 month guarantee on all work). Of course, by this point I was panic stricken by the fact that I couldn't even use my own bathroom. That's when Angel jokingly told me to sit down and Luis handed me the estimate for $6,000! He again stressed that I need this done within the next couple days or raw sewage would fill my house. He took my payment and left and told me to call immediately. On 12/5 I had another plumber come out to inspect our lines with their camera. Not only were these guys able to get the camera all the way out to the main line in the street (something Luis and Angel pretended not to be able to do), but they said my lines were in "really good" condition and there were no problems at all! I truly feel that Luis tried to take advantage of the fact that I was a women and knew nothing about sewer lines and plumbing. These guys work off of commission so the bigger the job the more money they get in their pocket.

Awoke SUNDAY MORNING @ 7:00AM to a water pipe leak in the basement. Turned water off. Consulted Angie's List. Called Roto-Rooter @ 7:30AM and encountered a very pleasant receptionist who promised service arrival by 9:00AM. A professional, friendly, and fully equipped service-man arrived at 8:30AM. He didn't start work until he fully explained the problem, remedy, and had my agreement to the cost. He cleaned up when he was done.

In all, he was only at my house about 7 minutes ,explained the problem, and left me with no bill . His courtesy and kindness certainly represents his firm and the validity of your referencing system. Thank you for a terrific experience . Sincerely yours, Bill Engel

Subsiquent to some issues with the job that was done the general manager contacted me directly and corrected the issues. The tech was pleasent and worked hard to get the job done. I appreciated the call back and follow up from them. I will try them again in the future.

I didn't have it done because I found that it didn't need to be done. I got a quote and I got the with city, city came out and did a test which determine about my plumbing system. The guy couldn't get the snake through it and I haven't had any sewage problem since then. They misdiagnosed what I need as far as I could tell. My insurance went up, it turned out that it seems to have just been roots. Because I waited and didn't have it replaced it then I had to pay extra to have the lid put back on the sidewalk that covered.

My sewer started backing up between my washer and the outside wall which is like maybe 25 ft and the sewer has like a crack running along the top. A friend of mine had taken some stuff to just patch the top to keep any solids from coming out. He had done it a while back so that had prevented it but I have some water and it went down the stop pump and the it work. So, my friend she got some dirt that wouldn't go into my stuff. So, the damage was basically minimal but we had Root-Rooter come by and this young guy came by in the middle of the night and he cleared the drain and you could hear it all just second thoroughly. He search our main sewer line and he said that the cable main line open trap and rise and it it needs replacing. He was basically saying that I had a problem with my trap and if I didn't do that there was just a matter of time before I had more problems. I called the city to come by and they put guide down the toilet and they were looking to see if the line was messed up and if it was they would issue us a violation then I could get the job done for a much lower rate. I called them and they send a more experienced guy down. He made a something for me to see what was happening on my line and when I looked at it I didn't see any major gap like what he was talking about what I did see are roots growing in one section like around. I could see the roots coming through and they were all at an even like.

They were prompt and courteous; and performed the initial check free of cost. did not try to scare me or give any false information, very professional.

Michael Barron, from Roto-Rooter, arrived at 8 p.m. He worked until 2 a.m. because he never gave up. He worked diligently to clear my sewerage line. He worked hard for hours. I was very impressed with his willingness to work for so many hours. He finally determined that the roots of my trees broke through the pipe. This requires a lot of work. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter because of Michael. I was not charged because he could not clear the line.

They came right away and were very cheerful and gave me some root killer to use in the future. We have problems with trees outside growing their roots into our pipes and blocking the sewer drainage. This wasn't as bad as it has been in the past, but does happen maybe every 2-3 years. At this point I'd been using root killer every 3 months, thinking I had it under control. They thoughtfully explained that root killer can't do it all, and that I should probably have it done every 3 years or so or have the whole front yard dug up and changed over for $5K or some such. It was one guy and he was polite and able. He also gave an estimate for a pipe under the kitchen sink that was leaking but we held off on that.

The guys were great, super friendly and on time. We are new homeowners and they offered explanations of all the work performed and even through in a few discounts. I am blogging about our house renovations and they even posed for the camera :)

Frank Rivera, the service technician, appeared well within the time frame indicated by the receptionist when I made my service call an Sunday morning. He was friendly, very presentable, and went right to work. Within minutes after inspecting the situation, he was able to rectify the problem completely. I was very pleased.

It went well. Took him around 45 minutes to complete the work. He was neat and clean and very professional

My only complaint was that the cost to replace my garbage disposal was higher than I wanted...but honestly any plumber is going to be expensive. I have used them twice and will use them again. They are polite and prompt and do a good job.

The technician was originally out on Saturday 8/17/13 when we first scheduled service to survey the issue. He determined the cartridge was indeed blown and he tried calling their supply house to secure the part, but unfortunately, it was closed. He asked to reschedule the work for sometime during the following week for a time that would be convenient for us. We scheduled him to return on Friday 8/24 between 8AM - 11AM. He arrived at 10:00 Am and completed installation of the new cartridge within 45 minutes. He was very neat and courteous and fixed the issue. This is the second time we've called Roto-Rooter this summer and both times we were pleased with their response time and service. We like the fact that you can schedule service on the Roto Rooter website. You search the website for the nearest location - ours happened to be in Delaware - and put in your information and the description of your problem and select a date and time you want service. They call you on the day of service before the tech is due to arrive to let you know he's on his way.

It did not go well. A wax ring is simply a seal that ensures that the contents of the toilet bowl go directly into the sewer system and do not leak out into the room. A wax ring is a non-moving part and should last for several years before needing to be replaced if properly installed. The Rotorooter guarantee on an installation is 6 months. My first Rotorooter wax ring installation lasted only 7 months before it started to leak again (from May 2012 until Dec 2012). The Rotorooter technician who came in Dec 2012 understood this issue and was kind enough to contact his supervisor to see if the work could be done for free under the guarantee provision. He was told that the work could not be done for free since it was beyond the 6 month guarantee period. The bottom line is that I paid Rotorooter twice within 7 months to replace the wax ring on my toilet.

They did a really good job. It was a really nasty job. They came out quickly and did a nice job with all the work. The only issue I had was they did not have containers to care of some of the sewage.

The work went fine. They came out quickly and the technician was able to find the location of the issue and fix the problem.
