Mark did a fantastic job on our recent kitchen remodel! His attention to detail is perfect and it shows- from making sure that sub- flooring and walls are level and even, to trim work and finishing. It is all done to the most exacting standards. Mark has also done jobs such as installing a sliding glass door and a ceiling patch for us. He has touched nearly every room in my parents house including fireplace mantel and surround, kitchen, baths, windows, etc. and all very well done. Marks schedule is quite full, but it is worth the wait for him to work on a project. I would recommend Mark to anyone who asked.

Mark is easy to work with and when your turn for work comes up he is devoted to you. He is a master carpenter and totally professional. He likes being creative and adds truly original detail to a job. I've had Mark back for much smaller jobs and he goes beyond the task, not leaving until both he and the customer are completely satisfied. I recommended him the friends who had a major flood in their kitchen, affecting cabinets and floors. He not only repaired their home but left them totally satisfied. My understanding is he is going back for a another major job shortly. I had some rotted boards on my deck and wanted a few boards replaced. Mark agreed to do the job, and I'm lucky he did. It turns out that the deck had also rotted where it was attached to the house and was in danger of breaking off from the house. Mark explained the situation clearly, and did the necessary work. Whatever the situation, I was presented with options for both work needed and expected price. Work started on time every day and Mark and his assistant stayed late most days. As a friend of mine said, Mark's not a 'good enough' guy. He'll never do a task and say that it's 'good enough.' He'll do it *exactly* right. I've hired Mark back for some additional, more recent, jobs which have all been completed to my satisfaction. I've recommend Mark to others, and will continue to do so.

To say it turned out beautifully would be an understatement! Mark's vision and suggestions (which he did not force us to accept and do--but we did and are thrilled we did listen) turned our typical home setting into a showplace. He put up wainscot; trimmed all windows and doors with decorative molding, some of which he created and etched from plain wood. He carried the look up the stairs and down the hall for a feeling of continuity. Many of our walls were not level; Mark worked the designs to accommodate the faulty surfaces. Mark also corrected items he found which were not properly done 10 years ago when we had renovated to the open floor plan. Mark is a patient man, easy to work with and willing to work out requests which are not necessarily easy to do. We were never anxious about the project and had complete trust in him. His choice of subcontractors were terrific as well, professional and fastidious. Mark Fanella is an artist, and our house was his canvas in which he took great pride. Given the outcome of this project, we have committed to having Mark return to renovate our family room and master bedroom bath. Mark was very professional in his approach to the work that had to be done, the deck was completed in a timely fashion with no additional costs. Mark is not just a contractor, he is a craftsman. Mark listened to what we were trying to achieve, made valuable recommendations based on materials and building codes. This deck is a showpiece and I would never hire anyone else to work for me.

Beautiful handcrafted molding installed on interior of door. Door reveal is perfect! Installation flawless, no drafts, solid closing Completely satisfied. Mark is a true craftsman taking pride in his work. He takes the time required to do the job correctly to last a lifetime. We are still getting compliments on our front entrance to our home. We would not have anyone else do work for us!

Installation went fine. All three posts were cut and installed plumb and deck is now level again. Mark took the extra step to sand the sides of the posts and routed the corners. Another job well done!!

I can't recommend Mark's services highly enough. He does superior work! Our bathroom is beautiful, and Mark worked within our budget. I could not find one flaw in the finished product. Mark takes his time and gets everything right, and is in high demand in our area. Consequently, you may have to wait a while for your project. Luckily, his quality work is worth waiting for!

l had new garage doors installed the day before by a garage door installation company. During the installation it was determined that the entire header and frame over one of the doors had hidden rot and termite damage. I needed someone quickly to come and cut away the rot and rebuild the entire frame and found Mark Fanella on Angies List. He came within the hour and provided me with an estimate, then returned the next day to complete the work. He installed pressure treated wood to prevent future problems, and purchased paneling which matched the exterior of the garage. He completed the job to perfection.

We first hired Mark five years ago to demo and replace our kitchen with new cabinets. His attention to detail is extraordinary, making certain ceilings and walls were squared and level. He also spent hours cutting miters for the crown molding above the set back cabinets. Five years later the work is admired by anyone who sees it for the first time. He is known as a true craftsman who finds ways to create unique elements to his work. We love our home and Mark is the carpenter we want working on its improvement.

We called mark to get an estimate and he arrived within 24 hours and gave us two options. The door was partially installed, but he took the time to explain what needed to be done to finish the job and answered all questions thoroughly. The installation took place a few days later and was quick, professional, clean and with great attention to detail. We will definitely use mark again and would recommend him to anyone.

Mark did a great job . The ceiling molding was a chore to install along one wall in particular since it was bowed. By planing the joists the ceiling is now level . Mark painted the ceiling and the molding. Recommended a wider molding which added depth and finish to the room. Also he repaired cracks in other wallboard seams . Mark pays attention to details ,makes sound recommendations for better fits and finishes, does quality work and leaves the site clean and neat. We plan on using him again for future projects.

Excellent . This was second job Mark did for me in 2011. The first was 3 years prior where he installed 2 triple window combinations from Marvin that I still get people ask me who did the work. The fit and finish on all windows installed including casings and shingle replacements was first class. The second install was 10 windows . So we have used mark for over $15K of work. He is currently doing his third job repairing a damaged ceiling from ice and snow along with putting in a new back door and fixing several poor seaming installs in other locations. The job site is clean after work is done daily . We have more general contracting jobs that we would not be hesitant to give Mark. So for windows , doors and general contracting I would recommend Mark.

Mark extended his superior workmanship throughout all facets of supervising and rebuilding our house -- he finished the job on time (6 months) and under budget. From outside to inside, besides the supervision of demolition, roofing and rough work, he handled expertly himself (saving plenty on subcontracting), the installing of new framing, siding, sheetrock, insulation, flooring, cabinets and staircases, the casing of windows and doors (we save plenty on energy bills now too) and interior trim carpentry, he surpassed all expectations. In addition he used his network to bring in excellent subcontractors: painters, plumbers, flooring and electrician. Mark?s professionalism and perfectionism are evident in every room, from beautiful custom crown molding atop the kitchen cabinets to the larger baseboards, from the trim detail around the chimney to the walk-in closet he added. Mark kept the worksite neat and tidy throughout the job. He was able to suggest numerous design improvements and upgrades all the while keeping under our insurance-mandated budget. He even suggested paint colors (which we love) and tactfully steered us away from a carpet color we thought we wanted, but realize now wouldn't have worked. He was here working in the early morning and often late into the night to get the job done right and get us back in our house as quickly as possible. Mark put his heart and soul into this house and we know he's as proud of having built it as we enjoy living in it ? if that?s possible! Mark is an extremely courteous, nice, efficient and talented professional whose quality of work and craftsmanship are outstanding ? over the top good! We highly recommend Mark Fanella without the slightest reservation. You will have no regrets.

Mark has done work for us in the past, finishing our basement, installing new windows and sliders and doors. Three new bathrooms. His work is professional and of exceptional quality. He takes pride in a job well done. He is a perfectionist and an extremely neat contractor. He listens to what you want and offers suggestions that come from years of experience. We have the hugest praise for the work he has done for us in the past twelve years that we have lived in our current home.

Mark did everything he said he would do when he said he would do it. To me there's no better way to build trust in a customer service business. I know there can always be some hidden surprises that were covered up by previous contractors that will need to be fixed in order to get the job completed properly, and that usually means additional charges above what was discussed when Mark gave me the price to do the job. As it turned out there was some additional framing and sheetrock/spackling work that was necessary to make the window fit properly, but the final price he charged me was actually a few hundred dollars cheaper than his initial quote. I wanted to wait a little while before writing this review to make sure the windows would continue to function properly once things settled. I thought that things might need to be adjusted and I might have a tough time getting Mark back to do it based on my past experiences with other contractors. It turns out he factored in how the window would settle as the supporting cables stretched a little and no adjustments are necessary. The way Mark works is what impressed me the most. He's really a perfectionist and it's obvious to me he'll put as much time in as he needs to in order to achieve the kind of quality for which he is known. Not only is his workmanship impeccable, he's also very organized and clean. I still remember how at the end of every long day of work he put in he still took the time to wet some paper towels and wipe away any footprints off our floors and stairs after he folded up his drop clothes. Any little scraps of siding were picked out of our bushes and he even swept the sawdust off our driveway before he left for the evening. He didn't want our house to look like it was under construction when he wasn't there and that was very much appreciated. I've referred Mark to several people I work for and everyone has said nothing but great things about him. It's nice to know there are still contractors around that do what they say they will do.
