Redding's Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

We got them out of Angie's List. At that time it was hot and we had no air conditioning but they came promptly, did the repair and cleaned everything up. Overall we were very pleased. They are in our neighborhood so we like to support neighborhood businesses.

The sales rep was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the phone. When he came to look at the house, he was thorough and professional -- arrived exactly on time. He gave a good quote, explained why they carried the brand he recommended. He indicated that he could be competitive and when I did get another quote on a different miodel, he was still negotiable. Plus they were able to provide the work and air conditoiner within 3 days during a heat wave. The installer (members of the company, not contractors) arrived on time and got right to work. They were thorough and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They completed the entire job in about 7 hours. The a/c works like a charm!

I had them over for general plumbing for several years and they've always been responsive. They feel like a local company because the people or person they send they seem to remember you and things like that. I they're a trustworthy group and they're responsive to problems. I think once you're in their file, they really make an effort to serve their customers. They're right in the average price range for this area, as far as I know.

We've had service providers avoid Trenton before but I guess we're just getting tired of it. Reddings services towns all around us but told us they wouldn't come to Trenton. It's no fun to be red-lined.

I was exploring installing a back-up generator and asked them for a quote. The site presents a slight difficulty because it is not possible to install a larger LP gas tank near where the generator needs to stand. The person who came out was very knowledgeable about possible options and recommended that we consider a different LP gas supplier - who indeed offered better choices. Their quotes were very competitive and we would probably have gone ahead had not hurricane Sandy prevented the LP gas supplier from coming out - and also caused us to re-examine whether we wanted to invest that much into a system that would not have covered the length of our outage (it would require a very large gas tank to cover 8 days). A couple of years earlier I had gotten a quote from another outfit that left the issue of providing a gas connection entirely to me, and that turned out to be too complex. I got one other quote a week before this one and this was better. Should we decide to go ahead in the future,we would certainly put Reddings at the top of my list.

They were easy to work with and prompt. Pricing was a bit high but I didn't do any comparables. They fixed things quickly but did leave a small mess on my carpet.

My furnaces were producing a mild odor, and have not been serviced in a long while, so I contacted Reddings to do a tune up. The work was done satisfactorily, but he was unable to solve the odor problem, and suggested replacement of the furnace/ac units which are about 18 years old. I suspect the odor is due to dirty A-frame coil and condensate pan in the ac units, which is not accessible without substantial effort.

The plumber does good work and is very competent, but the scheduling is terrible. We have had them come out three times which has caused delays. They have also not called when they are going to be late.

We were very satisfied with Redding's and will most likely be using them for all of our future heating and a/c work/maintenance.

Standard service was OK, but afterwards I saw that that the insulation had worn off around the pipes leading from one of the two outdoor units back into the basement to connect up with my furnace and its blowers. If they had pointed this out I would have had them replace the failed insulation and saved money by increasing the efficiency of the units. Unfortunately the service person did not bring this to my attention. Maybe they did not see it, but once I looked it was obvious.

Easy to schedule and appointment, showed up on time, and did a god job.

.Overall it couldn't have been better. I would recommend the ductless system to anyone who didn't already have ducts. I can't think of any don'ts.

In the last 10 years I have hired them to service my HVAC system and I would characterize their work as satisfactory. A few issues did come up, which were resolved. Most recently I asked for an entire system purchase quote, and I found their price estimates to be greater than average. I played telephone tag with the sales person to get the estimate, which was on the high side. I have had a water pressure valve changed recently and that job was done in a correct and timely manner. Eric the technician was very knowledgeable in both plumbing and A/C systems. I would recommend asking for Eric.

We got an appointment just a few days after calling. He showed up on time, got right to work and was very thorough and polite.

They were high priced. They suggested I could go with making the duct wider and narrowing it down, that may work but I will probably use that idea with somebody else. I think I would have wanted to try that first before I bought a new furnace. They were very good at making appointments and getting an estimate to me.

They were excellent. They had good prices, did a great job, and we were happy with their work.

They were excellent and I would use them again.

We spent about $200 on that service. They were okay and they came out. It was easy to schedule something when they came out. They showed up on time and did the work. It was minor work, but I we would give them an A. The price was good. We would definitely use them again.

I was very pleased with them. There was nothing to dislike. They were presented with quite a challenge because the furnace had to go into the attic. But they managed it. Price wise they were reasonable. I will use them again.

They were very good. The people that put it in, the technicians, were excellent. They did a great job and offered alot of follow up. They were also very professional.

I like that they can always fix what is wrong, what I don't like is that plumbing can be expensive. I think they are pretty standard in their fees, I don't think they are any less or more expensive. They seem to always be able to fix what's wrong without making a big mess.

On both visits, Redding's was professional, on time and had competitive pricing. They are also very honest - when we originally got a quote from them for the water heater in mid-2010, the sales guy let me know that the existing one still had some time left on it so we didn't need to feel pressured or rushed to get it replaced. We switched the type of water heater we had (from a traditional one to a powered unit), which meant they had to drill a hole through the wall. Everything was done very neatly and they cleaned up well before leaving.

The person that came checked and said I needed stabilizers which I already knew. He said he will have to order them for me and charged me for it. This was not the first time I had a bad experience with them. I think they ordered the part for me but I was so disgusted with them that I went with another company. Interestingly they called me after two weeks with the price for that part and it was twice the amount I paid with the other company. I called them and asked them to stop sending me the bill for the part. I called them and told them that the mistake was not of the person that came. He was just doing his job. I had spoken to the lady on the phone already about the problem.

Overall, everything turned out well. They called in advance, as they said that they would, and arrived as scheduled. It was a hot day, but John was cheerful and pleasant to work with. He even replaced my filters for free. All in all, it was a good job.
