Description of Work: Hard sell tactics with very high price. After my first appointment did not go as well as they wanted, the regional boss showed up unannounced at my home without an appointment - very unprofessional - should not be on Angies List, as this business gives a bad name to any internet service which wants to provide honest and reputable contractors.

Description of Work: They gave a quick high pressure presentation and a deal if you signed up right then. They were the first we looked at, so we thought we would go with them. Then we did some homework and wanted to review some other companies so we cancelled with them. They came back to the house to return our check and sign off on paperwork and we explained at that time that we wanted to wait. After that, we did go with another company, but they kept calling, and calling, and calling! Even when I told them we went with another company, they kept calling. I even told them I was going to report them for harassment if they didn't stop. They finally understood that my basement was already handled and stopped calling.

Description of Work: Original work was install double sump pump and french drain system - with battery back up. Warrantied for seven years on pumps - main pump failed after approx 6.5 years - called the company and they sent out technicians promptly. Confirmed we were under warranty, and replaced entire pump without charge. |Overall have been very satisfied - have not had any water issues since installation and very pleased with outcome of the problem pump.

Description of Work: Waterproofed the basement. Spec's out 2 pumps and installed their "waterproofing system." I'm a skeptic by nature but am happy to say in the last year and half I've had a dry basement, even through the bad rains and heavy snow. When I hear the pumps come on I smile. They do use subcontractors but the team that showed up was absolutely fantastic. I would strongly recommend them.

Description of Work: Here is what happened with their FREE ESTIMATE: A SALESMAN from Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of NJ came out for a free estimate. 1) He proceeded to tell us how great they were and said they had an A listing on Angies list ( NOT TRUE - I challenged that and he said "Oh, that was last year!") 2) Upon viewing our basement - he immediately made "TSK, TSK, TSK" sounds - and oh my, this is bad. He stated that we had mold and it must be taken care of immediately. 3) Price - Gave a price of over $19,000.00 4) Price - when we said no, he then said if we could clear out our basement and have it ready in TWO days, he would drop that price by $4000.00 to $15,000. 5) We then realized we were being taken advantage of and said No thank you. 6) Salesman became angry and left - shaking his head at us and forecasting DOOM & GLOOM for us. 7) Then a higher up (I suppose a CLOSER) called us and said they made a mistake and since we had experienced the storm from Hurricaine Sandy - we were entitled to a lower price -(the storm had nothing to do with the Basement), BUT HE COULD NOT TELL US THE NEW PRICE OVER THE PHONE!! This guy talked for a very long time and kept saying they would give us a better price (you won't believe how low this price will be....) but you have to let us come out to your house and speak with you personally. WE CAN'T tell you over the phone. I advised that we do not play games and I would not play their game. It was so high pressure and the best part is: We had a different company come out who said there was NO MOLD and NO WATER LEAKING IN FROM THE OUTSIDE.This other company went so far as to show us how the clean the walls since there wasn't any mold. He also showed us how to test for MOLD in the future. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of NJ should not be on ANGIE'S list AT ALL.

Description of Work: Started off by sending a nice woman, but she turned very high pressure. I finally gave in because I do believe they do good work. But after reading a blog about how poor their service if you have a problem, I decided to cancel. (It was after the 3 days) The person I called said Jesus Christ under his breath. I said what did you say.. reply.. nothing just talking to myself.. he then wouldnt return my calls.. got someone else who returned the first call, then wouldnt return my calls asking where the check was.. Had to finally go up 2 manager level to get a response to when will my deposit be returned. That man was finally nice. Bottom line got my deposit back..but people were nasty..I should have known better! The first person I spoke to when requesting someone to just give me an estimate gave me a nasty response when I asked him why he was asking for my husbands name (I dont have one).

Description of Work: We had them come out after our basement got flooded. They gave us an estimate on what it would cost to waterproof our basement.

Description of Work: Remove concrete and dig a trench around the inside perimeter of my basement. Drill holes in wall to release and/or dry out cinder blocks. Lay stone and perforated pipe then re-cement. Was to cover with plastic and move anything around the wall area.
