About us

We are a small, family-owned business. Sam is the primary technician with 2 helpers when needed. There is a $50.00 - $70.00 service charge depending on distance (not including tax) for Sam to come out and diagnose the problem. We prefer not to bill and payment is expected at the time of service. We do accept checks but not credit cards. At present, we are offering a $10.00 discount on any repair over $75 for Angie's List members who are first-time customers.

Services we offer

We repair and service most major appliances such as central air and individual air conditioning units, furnaces, garbage disposal units, cook tops, range hoods, washers, dryers & dishwashers. In most instances, we offer same day service with special consideration given to emergency situations. We believe our fees to be fair and pride ourselves in going above and beyond in any given situation. We are closed on Sundays but will consider an emergency call for a service charge of $90.00 plus tax.

Services we don't offer

In most instantances, our services are flexible but depend on reasonable requests. It is to be noted that WE DO NOT SERVICE MICROWAVE OVENS, oil burners nor high end appliances, such as Electrolux, etc. WE CAN NO LONGER INSTALL A.C. UNITS OR FURNACES. We are closed on Sundays but will consider a true EMERGENCY call for an additional service charge plus tax. PLEASE NOTE: We reserve the right to refuse service where parking and/or accessing a premises becomes a challenge.

Overall was very happy with the service & cost. Called in the morning and he worked around our schedule to come in the early evening when we called back that we were home. All was fixed within an hour and our cost was $75, with the coupon. Sears, where we bought the dryer, wanted $130 just to come out and look at the dryer.
Description of Work: Our dryer that wasn't working, it ran but didn't heat up to dry the clothes. He came & replaced the part we needed, had it with him and all work was done within a hour.

Poorly, the business should not have counties listed that they don't service. In fact if they can't drive 20 miles to a client they probably shoud not be in business.
Description of Work: This business states that they service monmouth county, however, after I gave the operator my address they told me that is a little to far for them. I live 20 miles from there business and they list counties that are more than 40 miles away. What a waste of time, I will never refer this company.

Description of Work: I had a problem with the light in my stove staying on and clicking on for no reason. Sam at first thought it was the switch, but after investigating it turned out it was a blown circuit in the mother board. He disconnected the light. I will think about replacing the board as it will be a large expense.

He was very honest. He told me that I didn't need freon, unlike some people who I worked with before who charged me for freon I did not need.

DO CALL THIS COMPANY FOR APPLIANCE REPAIR. YOU WILL BE VERY PLEASED.
Description of Work: Gas Dryer heat would get cold while trying to dry clothes. D.A.S. came over within 2 hours after I called (on a Sunday morning) and was able to repair the Dryer unit with a new part he carried on his vehicle. Professional, friendly and easy to deal with. GREAT DECISION to call him. Saved about $600 because did not need to buy a new dryer. THANKS D.A.S.

Sam called to advise he was on his way and appeared as per appoinment going to work immediately. After reviewing the problem he conducted a systematic check of the electrical system and A/C, found the problem and fixed same. Professional and friendly service at a most reasonable charge.
Description of Work: Central airconditioning motor was not working though all power to unit appeared to be functional. I assumed a new motor was needed. Sam came out at the appointed time with the proper tools, etc and began examining and testing the entire electrical system to the A/C. Bottom line was a break in a feed line that was repaired quickly and efficiently. A less than honest mechanic could have sold me a new motor with installation for many. many hundreds of dollars. A pleasure doing business with DAS.

On a holiday weekend with a house full of company and two babies, they fixed my washing machine the same day as called. In comparison, the authorized dealer couldn't even promise service two days ahead. They were fast, neat, and left no mess behind.

He gave us an appointment the next day but then he had to reschedule a couple of times. He did come and complete the job. I thought the price was expensive because it was just a fuse. He was quick and knew the job. He was good and knew his job. I would use him again but I would try to find someone that was cheaper.

We would like to respond to the member's comments as follows: Our repair services are flexible but depend on reasonable requests. While we were available during our normal business hours when the call was received during the week, the member could only be available after 5:00 pm. Our availability after normal business hours are at times difficult to predict with special consideration being given to emergency situations. We do not consider a fuse for a front-loader dryer to be an emergency situation. The repair service was completed on the weekend when the member made herself available. As far as the cost for the repair is concerned, we charge a $45 service charge which covers our gas, wear and tear on our truck and travel time. The remaining $30 was for the cost of the fuse and for our experience in making the repair. All in all, we think the cost of $75 is beyond reasonable and wish the member the best of luck in locating a less expensive service.

Sam was given the wrong part initially by the local supply store. He persevered and obtained the correct part. Resulted in two trips to our house. Would not hesitate to call him again.
Description of Work: Replaced the washer switch that controls the agitation and spin speeds (5 settings). The old switch was stuck on Permanent Press. Maytag washer approximately 5 years old.

He really helped me out. I thought that I was going to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars. At the end, though he could have taken me for a ride, he checked what he could and said there was nothing he really could do for the garage door and the central air is working fine, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us. He just charged us for the service call. I should also mention this was all on a Sunday. He is local to us, and said being that you are close I'll just come by and take care of it now. He was very professional and yet very human. He didn't try and take advantage and he could have. I would highly recommend this contractor!
Description of Work: I went through a big lightning and thunder storm. Most of my appliances were fried. He came and basically looked at the system and it was working OK. He gave it a quick once over but found all was working fine. He looked at my garage door opener and tried to repair that, but that was totally down.

Excellent work, excellent prices. Honesty and integrity. I am a picky person and never compliment easily. We have DAS's number in our fridge now. Anything that comes up we will be calling Sam! Thanks SAM! On second visit, he was excellent. I trust DAS with all my repair issues....DAS and Sam have given me a new found trust in home repair.
Description of Work: Both our Air conditioning & our fridge broke at the same time during a heat wave. Our home warranty company provided us with several service technicians whom were not interested nor motivated to perform the job. I found DAS in the yellow pages & he was prompt. I told him that I have a toddler at home w/ no air conditioning or milk. He came within an hour and fixed the fridge on the spot. What I really liked about Sam & DAS is that they are honest, sincere and prompt. In my LIFE, I have always waited for a service tech. Sam gave me a time and was prompt. He was very honest with his pricing - a little on the cheap side if you ask me ($85). On second visit, our heat was not working properly...Sam at DAS came by immediately & attended to the problem. He also found other potential problems besides the initial call. He explained everything in detail to help me better understand the issue. Again, he fixed the problem to my satisfaction and a very COMPETITIVE price. And he's never late ($75)
