A Kennedy Perfection

I'd noticed that there was a leak coming into the house next to our stone fireplace. It originated by the masonry of the chimney in the attic. We also did have a brick or two missing from the chimney which was in a poor state of repair. I called Chris who was very good in returning my call. He came out, looked both inside the attic and on the roof to assess the situation. He picked out that we had missing bricks and poor masonry and that the flashing was also a likely factor as it had started to lift. We agreed on a date to get the work done, he was very punctual on the day, got started, no fuss or bother, replaced the bricks, did some re-pointing, took out the old flashing and replaced it with new. He also, without being asked or charging, saw that our gutters were strewn with debris, cleaned them out, given that we were about to get Hurricane Sandy. We were very pleased with his timely and courteous work and manner, the job was done in good time and given a rigorous testing by the hurricane and now snow storm. No drips or leaks to report, the chimney is still standing and in perfect repair, outstanding!

This was a first rate experience and was our first experience with this contractor. The price was fair, thw work was done in a timely and professional manner. More impressive after the work was completed, it rained and again we had problems I consulted Chris once again and he immediately returned and installed new flashing without any addtiional charge. I voluntarily reimbursed him for his out of pocket expenses in connection with the addtional work.

The work proceeded on time and smoothly.

We called A Kennedy Perfection to come out to Morris County to give us an estimate on a major deck repair project. Chris returned our call promptly and came out within a few days. He took his time (in the pouring rain!) to look over the deck and discuss our options. We received a professional and very reasonable quote within a few days.Unfortunately, other projects arose that took precedence over repairing the deck and we will not complete this job until next year. We will definitely work with Chris when the time comes. HIs time, promptness, professionalism and understanding that we cannot do the job at this time was very much appreciated.

We had gotten an estimate on the roof job and it seemed a little high. So, on the recommendation of a co-worker, I called A Kennedy Perfection. My co-worker had used them for 2 other jobs and raved about Chris's work, price and personality. I was shocked and thrilled to get an estimate from Chris that was over 3 thousand dollars lower than the first company I got an estimate from (Up and Above Contracting). Yes, $3000! I checked Angie's list and saw all of the great reviews of A Kennedy Perfection, so it was a "no-brainer". Chris performed the job within a week of us hiring him. He is super polite and was always very punctual. The job was done perfectly! We love the new roof! It was obvious to us that he is a perfectionist who really cares about the quality of his work. We were so impressed that we will be hiring him to build a new deck for us soon. We're very happy to have someone reliable, skilled and reasonable who can perform so many home improvement projects for us. It's a bonus that he's really a nice guy, too...easy to talk to and informative. I learned from talking to him that he is basically a one man operation (but of course he has a crew of workers for big projects like our roof)....but he does the estimates...he returns the phone calls, etc. It's sad that the previous review gave him an "F" for missing an appointment (we're all human!). I believe that if Chris had done the job that reviewer was looking to hire him for he would have gottan an "A" instead and his record on here would not have been tarnished! That being said, A Kennedy Perfection is one of the best experiences I have had with any company in my 20 years of home ownership.

I called trying to get an estimate to redo our front porch. He told me that he thought he could fit me in on that Thursday and would call either way. Thursday came and went with no phone call. Then he called the following Tuesday thinking that the appointment was supposed to be for that Thursday not the previous week. This time we actually set up a time. He was supposed to be at my house at 9am on Wednesday. Time came and went. I called him several times that day to see what happened. Finally he left me a message that he was sorry he missed our appointment AGAIN. I didn't try to set up a third time.

In short, Chris came as promised. Great communication. He had all the supplies needed and made the repairs promptly. This was exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend him!

I called Chris to get an estimate for a deck repair on a home that we were planning to buy. It took a few calls to get hold of him but once I got hold of him, he was very responsive and came out to give an estimate. We were still not in contract and it was likely that the sellers would use a different contractor. So, he gave me a ballpark estimate and told me to get in touch once I was more clear about the purchase. He seemed to know his stuff about the deck and also told me that he does windows and roofs. I was happy with his knowledge and his diagnosis on the deck. Now that we are closer to closing, I plan on calling him to do the windows. He seemed to be an easy going guy with a good sense of humor and his rates were reasonable. I'll be sure to write a more detailed report once I see his work.

chris returned my call in 24hrs.we made an appointment at my convenience to come and look at the job. i received an estimate in 48hrs. his pricing was very competitive . he answered all my questions.he showed me samples of the product being used.i accepted his bid and we set up a date convenient to my schedule. the job was finished in one day. all construction debris was taken away and my property was left very clean. i would use chris again . i found chris a very easy contractor to work with.

Chris did an excellent job. He arranged for the gutters to be supplied in one length so no seaming was necessary.He I'd the work promptly and completely, even replacing piece of rotted wood where necessary.

Chris returned my initial phone call in a prompt fashion, and came right away to give me an estimate. I needed a large opening that leads to my loft area closed off with a door. I wanted a decorative door, but did not have the time to shop for one. Chris came up with the idea of fabricating a faux stained glass window, and placing it above the door frame. I could not be happier with the results. Chris is reliable, creative and hard-working. The work area was left as neat as he found it. I would gladly recommend A Kennedy Perfection, and look forward to working with Chris again on future projects.

I contacted this contractor for an estimate on replacing a section of gutter and cleaning all gutters. Chris returned my phone call in a timely manner and scheduled an appointment to survey the job. He thoroughly inspected the area and discovered additional roof and fascia damage. While on the roof he cleared my downspouts out of courtesy. I also requested replacement of missing soffit and repair to some loose siding. He called back in a few days with an estimate which I consider reasonable. His schedule didn't allow for an immediate repair and I wasn't in a hurry. He called back in a few week, scheduled a date, but had to postpone one more day because he was still completing a previous job. The day of the job he arrived with one helper, set out all the material for the replacement and began removing the damaged material and installing the new, while his assistant cleaned and secured the gutters. They completed the job in about four hours. It looks as good as new. They removed all the old material and left the property clear of all debris.

We had roof damages resulting from Hurricane Irene. There were holes where shingles, tar paper and even wood had been blown away by the winds, causing rain damage inside the house. I wasn't able to get on the roof, so I couldn't do anything but watch as subsequent storms in September and October brought more rain into my house. I tried 8 different roofers before joining Angie's List, and none would even return my calls. When I subscribed, I found "A Kennedy Perfection". Chris came out (when he said he would!) and performed a free site survey of the damage. He worked within the limits of the insurance report to come up with a reasonable cost for the work to be performed. Although he was swamped with work (true, as everybody had roof damages in the area), we agreed to a price and set a date for the start. He came (on his own initiative!) a few days early and tarped the damaged areas of my roof when rain threatenned, prior to the scheduled start date. In fact, that tarp saved me further damages, as there was an early winter storm that dropped 19" of heavy, wet snow. He came out with his (local) crew and worked quickly and efficiently (I did watch) to remove all of the damaged materials. Then, he addressed all of the concerned areas, recommended sound improvements to preclude further problems and re-roofed the rear slope of the house. He took before-and-after pictures for the insurance company, and arranged for the dumpster and construction permit himself. I was so impressed by his professionalism and the quality of his work that I had him re-roof the front of the house as well (additional cost from above), and I'll probably have him out to address a few other issues in the Spring. There is no question I would call him about anything to do with roofing, and would recommend him to anyone who was looking for a roofer. I would also talk to him about other types of work that he does. We're very happy to add him to our roster of people to call.

I'm so glad I found A. Kennedy Perfection to install much needed gutters on a difficult area of our home. I sought several estimates and opinions on how to handle our gutter situation, but right from the start owner Chris Kennedy stood out with his approach & concern to not only the difficult roof line, but the aesthetics of the finished job on the house. The job was completed in two days. Not only were gutters & downspouts installed, but in addition, runoff leads were put underground past our patio stone walk and shrubbery. The workmanship is excellent. The work-site was left very neat with all excess materials and dirt from digging discarded. Chris Kennedy even called after Hurricane Irene hit that weekend to see if everything weathered the storm okay I'll definitely keep him in mind for other projects!!

Mr. Kennedy is very professional from start to finish - very punctual and quality of work is clearly evident. Everything is always cleaned up - no mess ever left. I highly recommend Mr. Kennedy - you won't be disappointed!

Chris was great, he is very busy and so while he might not be the most responsive, he definitely has you on his radar and will meet your demands. He is a one man shop and there is no receptionist so I can't fault him for responsiveness as he was working 10-12 days plus he would check emails in the evening. Everything was done to perfection and unfortunately with dealing with pressure treated lumber, sometimes the material doesn't hold up to everyone's expectations. There were three boards or so that had excessive drying and thus pulled away from the adjoining board, leaving a bit a gap. No worries, even though it was the material failure and not Chris's workmanship, he came out and replaced the boards. Chris cleaned up everyday and it was great to know that when it was on your job he was fully dedicated - as he didn't start one day and then had to go to another customer for a couple days and lengthen the time it took - he was there weather permitting everyday cranking out long hours. Price was very competitive and Chris worked with us around our budget and let us know what we could do that would keep that in mind, but not take away from the quality. When he came back after the job was done to replace those few boards, he even volunteered at no cost to go onto the roof to check the gutters and even sealed around my chimney up there due to cracking. That was unexpected and definitely saved me the trouble of having to pay someone else. Great work from a great guy.

From Chris' first visit to survey the situation, I knew I was in good hands. He really cared about leaving no stone unturned as he sought to remedy my problems. He was thorough, caring, responsible, reasonable and proficient. I would absolutely highly recommend him.

Through a recommendation, I called Chris to repair a piece of fascia that had fallen from the side of my house and reattach some shutters that had fallen off. While at my home, I learned about the other services his company provides, and asked him to give me an estimate on my porch. I felt confident that he would do a good job based on the knowledge he displayed at the time of the estimate. He is a perfectionist at whatever he does and will not not leave until the work meets his high standards. If he notices something additional, he will just go ahead and fix it without inflating the estimate unnecessarily. His honesty was evident when he told me he purchased the pavers at half price and saved me some money on the materials. I have a busy, erratic schedule but scheduling was very easy with him. He is a hard worker and finds the time in his schedule, even if it is an unexpected phone call in the morning to say he can come in the afternoon. There was no fuss and every interaction with him was straight forward. I am very pleased with my porch. It looks wonderful, and I would call this company for any of my home repair needs.

He had the materials, the dumpster delivered and he showed up on time. He draped tarpaulins along the perimeter of the house to protect the plants. He did the tear off and filled the dumpster without too much mess or damage and they cleaned up each night. At the end of each night he gave me a progress report and the plan for the next day. Would I use Chris again...You Bet! It?s good to feel that you received more than you paid for.

Chris Kennedy came to the house and looked at the problem and gave suggestions that would help with water flow. He told me that one of the pieces could be used and did not have to be replaced. He came up with the gutter truck and paid cash to the driver since Saturday was the only day it could be scheduled. So he trusted me for the $500 until Monday. He arrived on time and worked all day. As the last piece of the gutter was being put on a piece of the fascia fell and was clearly rotten. He came back the next day and replace the fascia and finished installing the gutter. He cleaned the area. He communicated clearly about the whole project, pleasantly answered any questions I had. He is the consumate professional and I will use him for an addition next Spring.

Chris was a very professional and courteous workman. He was referred to me by another contractor I hired from Angie's List when a problem was discovered with leaking attic pipes which needed immediate attention. Chris was able to put aside another not-so-emergent job he was working on to replace the pipe vent collars so that the other contractor could complete his job. An action was that was/is very appreciated! I also had Chris install a gutter on one side of my house and, subsequently, an attic fan. He was professional, showed up timely and completed the work expeditiously.
