Completely professional and personable. It was a pleasure dealing with them. They show that they really care about their clients. My one choice was not available and they suggested another option that was lower in price. They didn't want to up sell which I thought was commendable. And he used the leftover material to put in a closet that I did not plan on. I would recommend them highly.

The Longest Yard did an excellent job with our carpet needs! The Longest Yard has a beautiful showroom, and every price is listed by every carpet sample. That price included padding and installation, so there was no guessing or haggling involved. Rob (the owner) was attentive, but not pushy. He was happy to show us carpets in a lower pricer range, and never tried to upsell us on things. (This was a welcome change from the experience we had getting a quote from Empire. Empire's quote was much higher than we were expecting, and was just scribbled on a sheet of plain printer paper after the salesman chatted on the phone and punched different numbers in a calculator. Empire never gave us any price lists, and was full of contingencies like "I *might* be able to get you a better price if you agree to have us install in the next two days.") Installation was within two weeks of purchasing and every went smoothly! Rob even moved all of the heavy furniture out of each room, including disassembling and reassembling our large bed frame. We are very happy with the final product and would definitely recommend!

The Longest Yard did a great job on installing carpet to our concrete basement steps and created nice area rugs for us! We found The Longest Yard on Angies List and decided to check them out. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners named Jeanette. She was very nice and knowledgable. Within about two minutes of talking to us, she pinpointed the exact type of carpet that would be both great looking and functional for our stairs. We were originally going to buy premade area rugs from another store, but Jeanette suggested that using the remnants from the stair application for an area rug would be a good idea. She felt it would help complete the look and she was absolutely right. Another reason for our additional purchases was that we saw how honest and efficient Jeanette was in her work. She made us feel comfortable as soon as we met her. Her husband Robert came to install the carpet and did an excellent job. He also helped us decide on the second area rug that we needed for the kids playroom area. His assistance with the sizing and correct softness for this piece was also a great choice. Thankfully, all of our Angie's List finds have been fantastic and The Longest Yard is yet another business that is helping to continue the trend. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to add carpeting to their home!

Robert did excellent work in replacing my mother's kitchen floor. He was extremely helpful and prompt in providing estimates and service. They were very helpful in the materials selection process and providing recommendations for the best pattern and flooring type. The work was performed on schedule and in a very professional manner.

This is the second flooring installation Robert has done in our rather challenging 300 year old house. One was wood plank 5 years ago, and the other was sheet vinyl last week. Robert is a pleasure to work with. His work is very high quality, and he is very professional to do business with. He communicated well, was punctual and was cheerful and friendly despite crooked edges. We admire this family run business and highly recommend their service.

I recently purchased my first home and had to have about 1000 sq feet of floors redone. Robert and Jeanette from Longest Yard helped so much while going through all the carpet and flooring options. After months of weighing all the options in a multitude of stores, they helped me make up my mind within half an hour of being in their store. They were easily the best vendors I worked with throughout my home remodel. Their store is gorgeous and well laid out. I actually ended up using the same flooring they showcase in the majority of the store. They even saved us money by suggesting a vinyl floating floor instead of tile which would have required new subfloors. Their vinyl flooring is far superior than anything else I had looked at previously. Robert was over to do the measurement and estimate within two hours of our first contact, and he was able to expedite the installation date to accommodate my schedule. He and his assistant did a wonderful job with everything, getting the whole apartment done on just one Saturday in time for me to move in the next day. I loved how once the carpet and flooring were put in, the space was transformed from a construction site into actually being a home. The floors look great! I would not hesitate to refer their work and their shop to anyone.

My wife and I recently bought a house in Nutley and were replacing carpets. We had priced out carpet in Lowes and Home Depot before driving passed The Longest Yard and deciding to check them out. Their store is layed out very nicely and they have a large selection to choose from. The owners, Robert and Jeanette are very pleasant people and very easy to work with. Not only were their prices better than Lowes and Home Depot, the carpet we ended up getting with them was much nicer. Overall, it was a great experience working with them and we would highly recommend their services to others.
