We used Family Painters (Tom) to paint the interior and exterior of our Lake House. He was extremely responsive, professional and accommodating throughout the entire process. This property is our weekend place so Tom was great in understanding that we couldn't be there all the time for questions. He was always available when we had a question and did a great job battling the weather to get the exterior stained - showing amazing persistence. In addition to the painting services, Tom went above and beyond the call of duty. We received a call from our alarm company while we were on vacation. We called Tom and he used our spare key to check out to the house and confirm the false alarm. It really put our minds at ease. We would highly recommend Family Painters. Truly excellent work with professional service as well.

I read the past reviews on Family Fainters and sent an email asking for an estimate. Five minutes after I sent the email I received a phone call from Tom Corman, owner of Family Painters asking for an appointment to review and survey the work I needed to be done. It was not just a paint job. He noted that each room had the nail pops, holes and cracks and made suggestions as how to proceed with the job. Before he left, I received a handwritten estimate of the cost and itemized list of things that he was going to do. By mutual consent, the job was started after Memorial day. Tom said it would take himself and a helper 8 days to complete.. The job was completed in 6. I was very impressed with Mr Corman's professionalism, his eye for detail and the determination to do and complete the job correctly. I am very happy with the work he performed. Every day they cleaned up and put their equipment in a neat pile and out of the way. I feel that Family Painters should received an A-plus rating in all aspects of Angie's rating system. I felt I got my money's worth and more and I was not disappointed in any way.

I called Family Painters in March. Tom, the owner, called me back the same day and made arrangements to come the next day to give me an estimate. He went through my entire house and explained exactly what and how he would accomplish what I asked for. He sat down and wrote up the estimate right then and there - no waiting for weeks for an estimate. Based on his professionalism, price and reviews on Angie's List, I signed the contract immediately. He had some other jobs already lined up so he wasn't able to come for about three weeks which was fine because we had a LOT of stuff to pack up and move out of the way. Tom and Paul were very patient with having to work around my piles of stuff. Honestly, it looked like hoarders lived here. They arrived on time every morning and worked the entire day, taking a break only for lunch. Everything was cleaned up at the end of each day and they were very neat. Originally, I had called just to have the walls painted and the ceilings in the bedrooms and bathroom but after they were here a few days, I could see that those old doors had to go. Tom also recommended that the bathroom ceiling and fan be replaced because the ceiling was sagging. We were dealing with a mold problem on the ceiling caused by, we found out later, a ceiling fan that wasn't doing anything but making a lot of noise. So, I asked Tom for an estimate to replace all the doors, knobs, bathroom ceiling and fan. Again, because he already had another job lined up, I had to wait about a week before he was able to come back to do the added on job. And, again, they were here on time, worked all day, did a great job. Tom was very patient in answering any questions I had. The job was totally completed yesterday and I couldn't be happier. My aunt saw my "new" house and is now going to get an estimate from Tom to get her paneling painted. I can't say enough good things about this company. I have no cons to comment on.

My family and I came home from vacation to a hole in our kitchen ceiling due to water damage. We had had a friend replace the whole with sheet rock but Family Painters was able to complete the job and make the ceiling look like brand new by finishing the sanding, patching up other nail poppings and making the whole ceiling even and subsequently painting it. In addition, we had our water damage seeped to our finished basement ceiling so here again he repaired the ceiling and painted the whole basement. I was really happy with the work result and plan on hiring Family Painters again for other work around my house.

We could not be happier!!! Tom was punctual, thorough , clean with an incredible eye to detail . Our guest bathroom is clean and modern, far from the outdated eyesore it was.. In talking with Tom about other prospective work, some of which involved heavier construction tasks , he acknoledged that he had a trrusted colleague he would bring in rather over extending himself. This too is a strength in our view. Finally, as an interior painter, which is what we were originally looking for, Family Painters is first rate, because of the preparation work they do. We did not have any special effects paining done just wall and moldings done in subtle contrasting colors. Wonderful experience.

I called Tom about a week before Christmas to ask about getting an estimate for a long list of projects that I couldn't do on my own. I left a voicemail and he called me back within a few hours and scheduled time to come see the work 2 days later (due to my scheduling conflicts, not his!). He reviewed my list, walked around and looked at things and then drew up a bid while still there. When he returned to start the project (on 12/27) he was on time (8am everyday), had all the supplies ready to go and was getting set up to work by 8:05. He was polite (put up with my dog, my daughter and nosy me for more than 3.5 days!), thorough, very neat and did an awesome job! A few items took longer than expected and required some creativity to complete but Tom did a fantastic job on those almost impossible tasks. I couldn't be happier. I had a friend stop by and I referred her to Tom for a few projects. My fiancé also needs help on several projects and he'll likely call Tom as well. I think my kitchen floor was cleaner after he vacuumed than when he started. No messes left behind, nothing left over for me to fix and very reasonable price for everything. I'll be calling him again.

Really great experience. I found Family Painters, owned and operated by Tom, through a deal he listed on Angie's List for 8 hours of painting for $300. That was a much be was a much better deal than any other painter I found and his reviews were great. Tom was quick to reply to my phone calls for estimates and he was very prompt and punctual during the two days of work. His painting work was stellar and he was able to give me a brief education in painting along the way. He was very patient with all of my questions, and I'm very inquisitive about the whats, whys and hows when someone's working on something in my home, so that was greatly appreciated. We have two smallish bedrooms--about 12' X12' each--that needed painting. My wife and I tried to do it ourselves, but we kept screwing things up. (Left the painter's tape on for too long, causing small but noticeable tears in the paint, painted the walls before the trim--which is backwards, apparently--stuff like that.) Tom was able to come in behind us and fix our mistakes so that you'd never know we were there! He took his time, didn't rush, and paid a lot of attention to detail, all of which made for a very high quality paint job. We also had a few minor things on my honey-do list that needed addressing, and while the paint was drying in the two rooms Tom was able to address these issues. I could have fixed these things myself, but it would've taken two or three times as long, and I would've probably made things worse before making them better, thereby costing myself more money and time. The way I see it, it was worth the money to have Tom do it in a fraction of the time and with professional tools and know-how. Tom is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and I would employ him again in a heartbeat. The rest of the interior of our house will need a fresh coat of paint in a few years, and it'll need a detailed painter since the house is FILLED with beadboard wainscoting and built-in cabinets and bookcases, and I plan on calling Tom when that time comes. Tom also does roof cleaning without a power washer, and he was very knowledgeable on that aspect of home maintenance as well. When the time comes to address the dark stains on my roof, I'll be calling Tom then as well.

Tom called after my request for a painter and he was prompt for the estimate and was able to complete the job withing a few days. I am thrilled with the service provided and the new room I have. I left him quite a job/the room was desperate for a makeover and he definitely made the room look clean and bright and new.

When we called him for a quote, he responded quickly. He was flexible and responsive to our needs and was able to accommodate the hours that we were be available for him to do the work. He was neat and clean and conducted himself in a professional manner. We are planning on calling him again to paint other areas of our house this spring.

I could not be more pleased! What started off as a simple bathroom painting job turned into a much bigger job. When Tom arrived to paint, I asked him about installing new flooring. When the old flooring was removed, Tom discovered mold on the sub floor. He immediately brought it to my attention, and we decided to rip out the floor and start from scratch. The fact that he was able to replace the subfloor was perfect and saved me from having to hire another contractor. He built me a new closet, installed wainscoting and all new trim, fixed the shower head that went wrong, installed the new floor, then finally got to paint. Tom was extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and on time everyday. He was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Family Painters to anyone looking for work to be done!

We've used Family Painters before and knew that we would receive excellent service and top-notch, quality work. Tom tore out all existing cabinets, flooring, walls, and ceilings down to the studs. He then checked for damages, rot, mold etc... fixed any problem areas and rebuilt all of the walls using special mold resistant cement board for the areas that were to be tiled and mold resistant dry-wall for the rest of the walls and ceiling. After he finished all the taping and sparkling he started the tile work He followed our design plan to a 'T' and tiled the entire bathroom--and paid extra attention to the decorative tile work to ensure that it was level throughout the entire bathroom. When the tiling was finished he painted the walls (using a fancy roller that makes the walls look amazing--zero brush strokes!), installed the vanity, sink, and toilet and finished off by installing our new door. Tom started working on December 13th and was finished on January 3rd! He even came all the way down to work after our Christmas blizzard of 34 inches of snow just to make sure that we could have our bathroom back a.s.a.p. Absolute professionalism and dedication!

I am extremely happy with Family Painters. In addition to Tom's responsiveness and willingness to work with my schedule - he ALWAYS showed up when he said he was going to. He ensured that the rooms were kept clean and looked the same when he arrived - except for the great paint job! In addition, Tom assisted in installing a double door and stained and hung wood paneling. Everything looks amazing and Tom takes the time to do things right. He insisted on removing a section of the wall paneling and re-cutting because it did not look just perfect. Family Painters stands behind their work and is reliable and honest.

Our projects went very well. I would have no reservations about recommending Tom and Family Painters for any painting job big or small.
