I was so pleased with finding Patrick Dowd from Angie's list. He showed up, completed the work in a timely manner. The system works and we will be using him again in the future. He also gave some great advice on our landscaping as well. P.S. Don't use Automatic Sprinklers (I found the women on phone rude and their staff unresponsive/and unhelpful). You'll wait 3 weeks for them to come out and then find out they can't do the job they scheduled, then promised to call back to reschedule, but no call back.

We have been using Dowd Irrigation for the last two seasons to assist us with maintaining the sprinkler system that came with the home we purchased. During the first visit, the owner of the company, Pat Dowd, took the time to explain the system to me since we had not been the ones who installed it. He was very patient and helpful and seemed like he genuinely wanted to help. He also replaced a sprinkler head and got the system up and running for us. Since then, his company has come out to service our sprinkler system about two or three times a year, including a visit in the fall to winterize the sprinklers. We have thus far been very pleased with the quality of those services. Perhaps because of this he seems to have a lot of customers and it can sometimes take a little time for them to come out for non-emergency, routine maintenance, but the quality of the work more than makes up for it. Also, to be fair, we have never had a problem with punctuality when it comes to services that are scheduled for a specific day/date.

no call back despite 2 attempts

Called for a quotation, which was scheduled right away. Pat worked with me to find a convenient time for him to come over. He drew a sketch of the property and explained the proposed work in detail. He had good suggestions on how we could save some money with during the proposed installation and also options to expand the system in the future if needed (e.g. if we were to redo or add on on to some of the landscaping). He explained all the different products to be used during the installation. His electrician and plumber came in on separate occasions to do pre-install work. Both were professional & pleasant. The main install work was completed in a day. Pat then came over on the weekend after the install to walk me through how use the system/program etc. & to test it out together. Pat & team were professional throughout. Everything works great & no surprises. Would definitely recommend/use again.

Process was efficient and quick. Very punctual, courteous, and reasonable! Will definitely use them again!

Overall everything went great. Pat was punctual and completed the work expeditiously. While he was there I mentioned that one of my sprinkler heads will need adjustment in the spring but Pat made the adjustment immediately.

Pat called me within a day of my purchasing his service to fix landscape lighting. We made an appointment for the same week, and he showed up on time with a smile on his face. He reviewed the job and fixed all the lighting. He also added a new light for us. He is very knowledgeable regarding landscape lighting, and he did a great job.

I am going to talk to several other contractors before I make a decision about this project. He came himself to do the quote and was on time and very efficient. His quoted price was about $4,700 which seemed high to me but he quoted for extensive coverage of my land. I will discuss this with him and get other quotes based on less land coverage. When he came to do the quote he showed me pieces of equipment and a layout of his system.

Pat Dowd, the owner, not only sold us the system but was there the entire time directing his men as they dug holes and installed wiring. Job was very neat and since I wanted the home neat for the holidays I was very happy that they left the yard in as good or better shape than when they started. Dowd also made a follow visit about a week later in the evening to make some adjustments and make sure we were happy.

We just moved into a new home and inherited an in-ground sprinkler/irrigation system. I called Dowd Irrigation to winterize the system and when Dowd came to do the job, he helped us troubleshoot the system and identified that the system was compromised and not fully functioning. He could have winterized the system and charged us, but instead he was honest with us and left without taking our money.

Overall, I would say Pat did a fantastic job. He was able to salvage what I had and repair it. And made recommendations to maximize the performance of my lighting. I got 3 estimates and Pat's was the most resonable. I would definitely recommend him in the future to all my friends. a

We left a message and the guy called back on a weekend. We made an appointment at a time that was convenient for us. He showed up, performed the service efficiently, charged a reasonable price, explained the process to us, and then left. He was very nice and professional and we would use the company again.

The winterization of the sprinkler system was pretty straightforward. Price was what was advertised. Came promptly as promised.

He came on time and I like the way he spoke to me. He was very helpful and just gave me some great advice.

He returned my call very promptly and came out the next day. It was perfect, but the other guy I had for 10 years charged less.

It went very well. Paul Dowd came out and gave us a very detailed estimate. He explained all of our options to us. His workers were very clean and professional. The did what they said they would do it and actually did it when they said they would do it. A nice change with Home Improvement companies.

Dowd Irrigation and Landscape Services have maintained my lawn and shrubs for over 15 years; also installed my sprinkler system 18 yrs ago and perform yearly maintenance, head replacement, hose repair when required and moved my lines when I had an addition put on my home several years ago. Very reputable owner, responsive and professional. Dowd's staff preforms good work and is very accommodating when I have asked them to do additional work on occasion such as cutting branches or planting a recently purchased shrub for me, etc.

Dowd recently completed a lighting job for our property. We were concerned with safety of our sidewalks and wanted to enjoy our landscape at night as much as we did during the day. Dowd visited us and gave us a complete 1 hr presenation of the various fixtures we could use and ideas for proper placement. The other firms we called spent 10 minutes or dropped a proposal in the mailbox without even an introduction or idea of what we wanted. We were very happy with Dowd and are now enjoying our property for night time entertaining. Job cost was $14,500. We would highly recommend this contractor. His men were neat and clean and the owner Pat Dowd was on the site the entire install.

I bought a house that came with a sprinkler system. This was the first time that I was using the system and the system was old so I wanted it inspected first. Never had a sprinkler system before so I was a total novice. Dowd came over and tested the system. Told me what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. He was very thorough with his explanation. After making the repairs, Dowd explained how best to make my sprinklers run more effeciently by cutting away some of the greenery. He then very patiently explained to me how my system works, how to use the control box, and set the program.

They were very pleasant and friendly. He was really accommodating. I told him that I won?t be there. He told me how to switch it off from inside. He then came and did whatever he had to do in the garage. He was nice.

We called 3 companies for quotes. Out of the two quotes we received Pat's was the only one in writing and with a warranty IN WRITING. He sat down with us and showed us the products he use and explained the processes. He made an appointment while other quotes were tossed in our mailbox. He showed up promptly for the appointment and brought samples to show us how the system works. The installation only too one day and the owner Pat was there from start to finish working with his crew. He has been very responsive to us with any operational questions and adjustments we needed long after the sale. We will most likely hired him for landscaping lighting for our next product.
