Protex Termite & Pest Control Inc

I have been a good customer for more than one year. I made an appointment for pest control. I Had a sick child. I called to reschedule in advance. I was told "two strikes and your out"! Protex told me because I have rescheduled my appointment they would no longer service me. I never expected a company such as Protex can do this. I guess they have more customers and don't need my business so I will have to look for another pest control company which hopefully would be more professional to me when it comes to appointments.

Bob just left our house. I wanted a general spray to be done to my house because we are very close to the woods. He came in, did a inspection in basement and around the house, told my husband everything is fine and left. I was a little skeptical the other day when I saw another review said it cost him nothing, now I really believe it! I would totally use Pretex again if there is any pest problems in my house.

The treatment seems fine. It takes some time to work, but I haven't seen any ants. Two guys came out. One gave me an estimate, and the other did the treatment. They both had great personalities. They have a one year guarantee on the treatment as well. They have been responsive so far. I have not had any issues with them.

I found the experience to be very easy from the beginning. I called and did not get someone at first but received a call shortly after by who I believe was the owner. He was very nice and very informative. I told him my situation and I felt that he understood it right away. I did call another company for an estimate but they were twice the price and charged for traveling. Anyway, I called Protex back because I had a couple of questions. The office manager took my questions and relayed them to the owner and he called me back right away and remembered our original conversation. He was again very informative and I decided to hire them to do the work. When he got here I took him around the house to show him everything and I felt like I called the right person to do the job. He was here for about a hour or so. When he was done he showed me everything he did and cautioned me about some of the spots he placed bait for the critters (because I have kids). He put everything pretty much out of reach so the kids couldn't get into it. He mentioned that we may not have a bad infestation because he didn't see many while he was here. It was a very easy experience and a professional job. I am getting better at going into my basement at night because I have not seen anything yet (but I still wear sneakers or something just in case). I will definitely call them back to do our next spring treatment.

It was satisfactory. They were very responsive and I think the price was okay. They said that I had rats and I never saw one. They put all these traps around and they came and picked them up. There was nothing that was every caught. Now I see the evidences of mice and I haven’t had mice since they were here. They never caught any mice either. They never caught anything so I don’t know how to judge that. I would call them again and I think I have to because I saw a mouse outside. They came in and the guy talked to me about what he was doing. He also advised what to do and what not to do as far as moving stuff around. A guy came in to fix the wall and they thought that they were getting in through the wall in the back. I had a guy come in and he took of the siding to fix up the hole. There was no hole there. I don’t think they actually found where the rats were coming in. I don’t know how they get in and they are impossible to figure out. I don’t think I have any problem anymore but they never caught any rodents. I am assuming that they fixed it but I do not know how. They were professional and they explained as they went along. They had a 90 day guarantee which was good. I had them come back at one point because I thought that there was something going on and there wasn’t. They gave me a 10 percent discount because I was on Angie’s List member. That was fine. They were very nice and I was very happy with them. They did what they said they were going to do. I thought that it was a good price and I just wished that they had actually caught something. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I had jsut moved to a new home. I had been using a major national extermianting company for over 10 years in my former house. I tried to get them to come in to do the new house but it was such a hassle because the appointment had to go through the national office and I had to wait to get a call back. I checked Angleslist and found Protex. I got an estimate over the phone and the service tech came to my house that afternoon to treat it. The following day I got a call back from the national company to set up a service date and I told them that I already had it done. There was a problem with returning ants due to continuing new construction right near my house. I called Protex and they came back immediately and provided at stronger service at no additional charge. They were very professional and they explained everything they did and why there were doing it. I havene't seen an ant since they did the second service. If I have ants again, I will definitely call them. Fast service and great price.

It went very well. The technician came on time and explained in detail what he was going to do. And he also gave me a lot of good tips about how to check and treat the house for other insects. He was very efficient and did a good job. I will definitely use their service again if I need it in the future.

The owner Robert came out to do an ant inspection and he found that we had a mouse problem. I learned a TON about ant infestation and mice issues. Robert was knowledgable, thorough and spent a lot of time explaining the issues. The price is right and I felt completely comfortable having Robert in my home. After receiving a few estimates from different companies, we selected Protex and they were excellent. We had the outside of our house treated for termite control. Brian provided both professional and detailed service in first providing an estimate, and then treating the house. Additionally, he was very knowledgeable in his field of expertise and worked very neatly and efficiently. Great work at a fair price is a fine combination that is important to have in any economy. Everything went well. Protex arrived promptly and was very knowledgeable.

I did have to pay more than I was initially quoted. He did a good job and the bats went away temporarily. The bats came back again, and I then had to pay extra to have other areas sealed. I am still waiting on a warranty from him, even though I have already contacted the office.

I am a Happy Camper! This is a bit of a story indeed ? but one that I think must be told. After calling a major name brand pest control company that no-showed me the other day, I contacted Bob Coleman of Protest Termite & Pest Control Inc. I was under the impression that I had an infestation of carpenter ants in my home and was preparing to spend upwards of $350 for an annual treatment program and whatever other funds might be necessary for possibly needed house framing repairs. Bob Coleman of Protex showed up at my house as scheduled, greeted my dog and proceeded to look around my home to assess the situation. After closely inspecting some of the debris that the ants had left behind with his microscope, Bob indicated that my problem was not carpenter ants, as I had thought, but rather a colony of harmless paver ants. A nuisance yes, but not a structure damaging issue. He suggested that than rather spending money on his services, I may consider using a standard insect repellent spray, readily available at the hardware store ~ that should do the job. He kindly thanked me for contacting his company and began to walk away. I stopped him to ask what his service charge would be, he just smiled and said thanks, but no charge. I again tried to stop him to at least flip him a $20 or something. He again smiled and said, if ever you need my services, please give me a call. Well, that was indeed a welcome experience. At a time when you feel that nearly everyone out there is ready to rip you off, this man goes and pulls a fast one. He provided the kind of service that I think would be reserved for the very best customers. It?s a nice lesson learned ? there are some good, honest people doing business in this world. They should be praised a little and held in high esteem. Bob Coleman gets my vote of thanks and definitely resides on my highly recommended list indeed.

We called Protex and left a message and the owner returned our call in the same day. We set a time and our serviceman, Brian was at our home promptly at noon which was our appointment time. In my opinion,Brian was extremely thorough and explained to my husband and I exactly what he would be looking for and what type of bates he would be using in our home. He was very good about answering any questions and concerns that we had and he was efficient, thorough and timely. It took about an hour. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Very well. Two men were employed. Both were friendly, polite, informative and, apparently, knowledgable and capable.

PROTEX set up the appoinment within two days of when I called. They came to the house on time, explained every step of the operation, worked quickly and - judging from the evidence - efficiently. I would definitely use them again and refer them to friends.

He explained the problem and the source of the it and how they control it. He was very courteous, professional, and told me if the problem comes back up in 90 days he'll come back out to fix the work. I would use them again in the future if needed.

Initially came in January and gave estimate. Followed up in March when weather was a little warmer and carried out the job. Very professional and a good job. Carried out services as promised and completed the job on time. Will refer in a heartbeat. Krish

It went very well overall. One of the traps in the house caught a mice. We also have not seen anymore mice in the house. We also don't see any more ants. It was a job well done.

Bob was great - extremely professional, punctual and knowledgable. I will call them for any future pest/rodent issues.

They charge pretty well, but they do a nice job. We are happy with them. They were very responsive, very professional and effectively took care of the job. They also gave us advice on how to keep it from happening again. He also got rid of an enormous log from our yard.

We had seen saw dust near the house where no construction had been done and were concerned about termites. We called protex - they made an appointment, showed up on time, did an inspection and reassured us that it was carpenter bees (not termites as we feared) causing the problem. They sprayed the affected area and we haven't had a problem since. If we have pest control problems in the future we will be using Protex.

I left a message for the company to call me, and they returned the call in just over a day. But once contact was established, they were very helpful and informative about the services and options. Since this was not an emergency situation, an appointment was made for a couple of days later, and the person came within the specified time period. The service man was very helpful, discussed the pros and cons of the different approaches, including prices and guarantees, and did a very thorough job.

I have a maintenance contract with Protex. They come out on a annual basis and spray for pests. I like that they remind me of when I should be scheduling my annual maintenance and offer a warranty for all of their work. Last year I had to call them to come out and do an additional pest service for me. They were very quick to come out and perform the additional examination. They analyzed the issue and gave me an assessment. Once they had gone over the assessment with me they provided the treatment and told me that this work was under warranty as well. I was very glad to hear that the work was under warranty and that they would be willing to come back out free of charge if the initial treatment did not work.
