The above doesn't fully explain how much work Protex had to do. Don't let the price scare you, our house is 10.000 Sq Feet and therefore they had a tremendously large area to deal with. I wrestled with making my original decision before selecting Protex but decided to go with them because of other Angie's List comments/reviews. It was a great decision. Bob who is the owner was on site during almost every visit and I believe they were here at least four times. Not because they didn't get it right, it was because of the size of our house and the scope of work that had to be done. We saw fewer ants within a day or so and I haven't seen any in at least the last two weeks. All I can say is to give Protex a chance, you will not be sorry. Also, I signed up for a quarterly maintenance program which will keep things under control going forward.

One the day of the job they were on time and were already working on the exterior of the property. They were up on the roof line, gables, behind shutters spraying for all kinds of pests. Bottom line: All the pests around the house are gone, no more running into bees, wasps and ants.

We had paper wasp and yellow jacket nests all around our house, the person who came out to work with us was prompt and extremely professional. He thoroughly checked and sealed the inside of the house before starting any work outside, he worked quickly, and has arranged for a follow-up in 4 days to make sure that the problem has been taken care of. We will definitley use Protex in the future.

Terrific company. Very professional, prompt, honest and informative. After having a nasty ant problem for a few months out, they provided a solution and it worked! They also have a 90-day warranty and while the problem was 95% solved after the initial visit, they came out 4-weeks later, without hesitation, and now the problem is completely resolved. Would definitely recommend this company.

It went well, the squirrels still came back later in the year, but they weren't nearly as invasive as they were initially.

For the past few years I was using a major lawn service for insect control. They would spray a preventive barrier three times around the exterior of the house during the summer months. Their product was guaranteed to build a barrier that carpenter ants would not get into the house. This year their product did not work and I was killing 10-15 carpenter ants daily on my kitchen counter. This is when I read the reviews on Angie's list and called Protex. Robert Coleman was very professional. He sprayed the interior of the house from the basement, main floor, and upstairs. He also sprayed the exterior of the house and a tree that was close to the house. Robert assured me that his product would work. The ants would bring back the product back to their nest (which was probably behind my dishwasher) and within a few weeks I would not have any more carpenter ants in the house. Robert was right!! I am so happy that I found Protex on Angie's List. I will continue to use them in the years to come.

It was quick and easy. Guy showed up when he said he would be here. Professional, got it done right away and was out within an hour.

We engaged Protex because we were hearing sounds that we thought might be squirrels in our attic. First Bob, our service provider, examined the entire attic to analyze conditions and determine exactly what type of pests had been present. He confirmed that what we heard was a certain type of squirrel that would attempt to re-enter a place of familiarity and comfort. He looked at points of entry and exit, and assured that none was inside at the time. When he was certain that the area was clear, and to preclude any further entry, he installed blocks at all attic vents and places where the squirrels had chewed holes. He explained to us the habits of various rodents and the ways of dealing accordingly. To counter their patterns, he placed lures and locking cages on certain roof locations and he returned to check for any trapped animals. After a few days, we saw that a squirrel was caught. Bob returned again to get the trap and took the squirrel to be released in a remote location. Aside from his successful work, he was patient and answered all of our questions. We found it interesting and educational to hear so much about animal control. He did the work with professionalism and he exceeded our expectations.

Arrived five minutes ahead of schedule, performed all duties and thoroughly explained all chemicals being applied. Pest control doesn't get any better than this, will definitely be using again in the future.

Had a problem with a rat coming in from outside burrowing into crawlspace. I had put down some traps and poison but after 1-2 days of persistent scratching at night looked for a professional. I responded to deal from "Protex Termite & Pest Control Inc" on Angies list entitled "Rodent Abatement Special" for an advertised price of $199. I received a prompt phone call and the technician arrived at my house on schedule (actually called ahead to see if he could come early). He seemed very professional and thorough. After doing complete inspection which included climbing under a cramped deck he informed me that there were indeed signs of a rat and that he had found the point under the desk near an old porch that looked like where the rat was burrowing in. At that point he informed me that the package I had purchased on AngiesList was really for getting rid of mice not rats and I would have to pay an addition $150 or so to treat the rat. I accepted this as still being reasonable although I think the package wording on AngiesList was misleading or too vague. He then informed me that he didn't have rat bait with him but if I had dog or cat food that would be sufficient which I provided him. He went about rearranging the glue traps I had already put down and put the dog food bait leading to the traps and said he would return the following Monday to check on the progress. The following Monday he never returned; no messages or phone calls. As I no longer heard any scratching anymore so I didn't follow-up. its too bad because i thought the price was reasonable and the technician presented himself well.

I used an Angie's List deal. I was able to book an appointment for the weekend within days of calling to make an appointment. They were punctual, professional and got the job done quickly.

Bought a deal through Angie's List. Scheduling was easy - got a date a fews days out from when I called. The exterminator was punctual, pleasant & knowledgeable and treated the whole house. No surprises. Ants died/disappeared. Happy with the service & would use again.

No doubt about it, Bob knows bugs. I found Protex thru Angie's list and I am glad I did. I contacted them, Bob came out and we went thru the house to determine what I would need to have done. I had seen a couple of large ants which he identified as carpenter ants. I also explained that at the edge of my gutter last summer, some type of flying insects had shown up. He identified them as paper wasps( never heard of that) and recommended that we spray for that also. He sent me a quote and bundled my treatments together to give me an excellent price. He worked around my schedule coming on two different days to allow the painters to finish first. I did get a 6 month warranty on the wasps and a full year warranty on the ants. I don't think I will have any trouble. Thanks Bob!!!!!

Due to Sandy storm, we had the attic cover missing. There was also a potential intrusion from the sewer line due to the storm. Basically we noticed rodent activity in our home back in Feb. Bob and Brian were very patient and made numerous visits to our place to slowly seal off different entry points. They also gave us valuable tips on how to monitor the activity. Finally,they were very accommodating with our work schedule. In mid-march, the problem was taken care of and we are very thankful to Bob for help during this stressful time.

This company was great. They answered my call right away. They honored the angie's list price. They scheduled an appointment promptly. The technician showed up in the allotted window of time. He sprayed everywhere that we wanted and we haven't seen any bugs since. The technician was professional, neat and clean. We will use them again.

My husband and I thought we found evidence of what we thought were termites. We contacted Protex after business hours on that day and left our number. They called the next morning and gave us an appointment for 1:00PM....the technician showed up early, gave us a thorough inspection and determined that we just had some ants (not carpenter). They did not accept payment, as they offer a free inspection. We appreciate the honest dealing!

We realized the mice problem, called and had an appointment the day after. A very careful check of our house was done and around 15 traps were placed in-/outside the house. And it worked! Our issue was solved within hours and the traps were cleaned when a re-check was done. We were pleased to see that none of the traps were placed without confirming that children or pets not would have access to the area.
