They were very thorough and explained what they were going to do and answered all my questions. They put down something to attract the ants that would have them bring the poison back to the nest. He also put a treatment around the house. I still had some ants a few weeks later and I called them back. No problem. They came the next day and re-applied more poison for the ants. Fantastic job. not more ants and I recommended them to my daughter recently with the same problem.

Showed up early and completed work. No more bees or hornets since they were here.

I purchased the big deal. Good price. Everything went well until about a week after he came and sprayed. We started seeing spiders and centipedes again. I called and asked for a re-do. The girl who answers the phones said they would come back out for an additional charge. I asked for someone to call me back to discuss. I never received that callback. I would like a refund. I am have no dillusions of that happening.

Setting of the appointment after the purchase was quick and hassle-free. However, you need to read the fine print with this company - "not a guarantee" meaning that Angie's List hands are tied which excuses this company for the lack of results. I discussed with the owner, and my specific problem was with brown ants coming inside my kitchen and ending up on the countertops. Later on the owner states that they will need to provide me a separate estimate for this special pest treatment. This service needs to specify the target pest and the exact limitations of the service solicited.

Tech was on time, professional and thorough. They noted that it would take a few weeks to work however we noticed an immediate decline of the ants coming in and they were complete gone after a week.

Blake came out and was extremely nice, polite and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained everything that that he was doing and educated us on how bees and wasps boar.

After I bought the package, I expected the call from them to schedule. I didn't get a call so I called them myself to make an appointment. It was easy enough to get an appointment setup. The technician came on time and was courteous and friendly. I had a little extra problem below my deck and he accommodated and sprayed solution there as well. On time, friendly and efficient.

I am so happy I found these guys on Angie's list. I have had a mouse "problem" since I moved into my home almost 4 years ago. I have gone through several exterminators since my move and these Protex guys really know their stuff! They noticed things no one else noticed before and gave me great advice and suggestions. I was very very impressed. It's been a week and no signs of mice. No spiders and centipedes creeping and crawling around the place either. So far the best exterminators I have had, and at a great price too especially for the outstanding service! I have already started recommending Protex to my family and friends. It went well. It was just more complication with a free consultation. I do not know if they get any treatments done. They just came out and gave an evaluation. He walked around the house, showed me, and told me I did not have termites which is good for it was just water damage, talked about any problem that I had that could possibly do with that. Because I did not have termite, so, in that point, I did not feel like I really needed to pursue anything further which is water damage and not termite damage. I might call him back at some point for the end.

It worked out really well. They were prompt and courteous. There were no issues. The price was fair.

Overall, my experience was just OK. I called over the winter and told them we had a problem with carpenter ants. They said no problem, and sent someone out to eradicate the pests in our house. Unfortunately, when the guy arrived he basically said he couldn't do much since he couldn't spray outside and snow was still on the ground. I was a bit disappointed since my understanding was always that exterminators could drill small holes to find the nests in your house and eliminate the pests (and had read as much in Angies List reviews). I mentioned that solution and said it would be ok to drill small holes but was told they wouldn't be able to locate the nest. He left and said he would come back in a few months to spray outside. He eventually did come back and the spraying did eliminate them. Only problem was that was a few months later so we had to live with carpenter ants in our house in the meantime. Oh, and the guy used our hose to fill up his spray and literally pulled the hose rack off the side of my house and left it like that.

I have been using Protex since 2005 and have never been dissatisfied.

I give them all A's. They were just excellent and there always the best. They are prompt, honest, nice, pleasant to deal with and reasonable. Everything but A's. They were just great.

They were nice, I would give them an A in all aspect, he was very courteous, he's concentrated, very pleasant person. He's professional, they have good value service and very punctual, I'm very happy with them, pretty good service.

I got the big deal to get rid of bees/wasps. Blake came, was incredibly nice, sprayed my roof where the bees were hiding out (which we saw on the day the work was done), and I have never seen them again. What more can I ask for?

I called Bob early in the day to inquire about treating for carpenter bees. He explained the treatment and the length of the guarantee. I asked why the guarantee period could not be extended and he advised me that the powder or spray was only effective for that amount of time. Based on his knowledge, I selected a recurring yearly plan. Bob was very professional and his crew was out the same day. No one was home, so I didn't see the process, but within 2 days, the bees were gone. I was very satisfied with the whole process.

It went well! They did exactly what I needed. I didn't see them do the work so I can't really assess the quality. They were pretty professional and cordial, though. I'd recommend the Deal to anyone else who needs it.

Bob, calling first,just because he was going to be just a tiny few minutes late, arrived and I instantly got the feeling of comfort that you get when someone is professional, personable and genuine. In inspecting the basement beam damage he quickly pointed out that damage was not active because of lack of shavings, and pointed out that the beams of the basement were incredibly strong oak ("they don't build them like they used to") What a relief. First that I didn't have someone coming in with false alarms to take unnecessary, costly measures, and also to know that this historic building is doing so well. He complemented the drainage and masonry that had been performed on the basement to deal with rising water table, OLD stone walls etc, and informed me that powder post beetles cannot exist in very low humidity, indicating a further need for dehumidifiers. He then asked about and inspected the crawl space, which to his horror had standing water. We already have someone contracted to deal with that, which of course he indicated was VERY important (and not even a job he would reap any benefits from!) He simply suggested a spray around the perimeter of house and barn, just twice a year and I am DEFINITELY having him come back for that. A great guy, like one would expect from his many ratings!

Extremely thorough and professional. Showed up on time. Went through what treatment was covered. The only disappointment that I had was that he said carpenter ants were not covered but common ants were. Being a first time homeowner, I had thought a pest control would cover all types of pests, but it seemed like specific pest types were not a part of the package. However, we will be using their service on an ongoing basis as they were upfront and honest about how we should go about.

Bob showed up on time and did the spraying first, and then he did the internal work of setting traps for the mouse/mice in the basement and in the dropped ceiling. He needed to get some supplies to do the exterior work of filling in any gaps around the perimeter of the house where mice could get in. He came back the same afternoon and finished off the exterior work. Also, in the course of the inspection, he discovered that our water main ,which is behind a panel, had a slight leak, which alerted us to that problem and helped avert a much worse problem we had fixed later. Protex called back as promised in five business days to set up a follow-up to the rodent problem. Bob came at the appointed time exactly on time, and removed the traps from the dropped ceiling, along with an unusually large field mouse. Bob also told us during the first visit that he saw evidence of previous mouse treatments, and that the problem with previous treatments is that poison was left inside, not outside, the house. His strategy was to put bait traps with poison outside the house in areas where mice might enter the home, and he put the mousetraps and one big one they call "the Raptor" in the basement and then sealed up entry points. The hope being that any mice still in the house would seek the poison bait outside and die outside, preventing the problem of "where's the rodent's body decaying?" inside my walls. Before he left, he also reinterated that if we heard mice, to call back, as the work is guaranteed.

Bob came and immediately introduced himself and explained exactly what he was going to do. He was thorough in his application of spray to all the windows, doors and the perimeter of the house as well as the basement and the baseboard in the house. He was professional and courteous. I highly recommend this company based on this experience.

I contacted ProTex a few years ago because I was having trouble in the spring with ants. They were very pleasant to work with, came out quickly (I was really getting freaked out by the ants and they were very sympathetic and responsive). I ended up with an annual contract and they were great about coming out and doing preventive treatment in the spring and would come again in the fall if I saw even a couple of ants. Administrative and exterminating staff were very friendly and easy to deal with.

It was fine. It turned out that I didn't have actually squirrels but they treated me for what the mice they find that I had instead. They were very prompt, very nice; they showed me everything that they were doing. They did an excellent job.
