Genovese Roofing and Siding

Our house needed a new roof; after researching several roofers, and having 5 come out to inspect our roof and give us a quote, we decided on Genovese Roofing and Siding. Brian (the owner) provided us with a formal written estimate, which was a plus ? we had one who refused to give us written estimate (?I don?t have any paper in my truck?), as well as one who simply stood on our roof and shouted down a number. Brian?s estimate was very thorough; he took the time to actually measure our roof ? one contractor simply ?eyeballed? the roof to estimate the size, his estimated size (and the corresponding price) happened to be almost 700 square feet more than the actual size of our roof. Brian also was very straightforward in answering questions concerning the details of the actual roofing work. Brian was very responsive to both phone calls and emails, and answered all of our questions completely; he also was very patient with last-minute changes and additions. The actual roofing work went very smoothly, and his crew did a very good job of cleaning up when they were finished. Our new roof has had no problems at all, even during the recent hurricane - we previously had a small leak in our old roof, but there has been no sign any leaks since the new roof was installed. We were very happy with our experience with Brian; we've already recommended him to friend who needed a leak repaired - Brian did his work, as well, and our friend was also very happy with work and price. Our freind had called several local roofers, and Brian was also the one who returned his call

Brian arrived to give me a quote on the day and time promised. I received a written estimate the following evening by email. After a couple of revisions, we arrived at a contract to repair my roof, which required removal of some of my siding. He called me on a Sunday night and asked if he could come the next day. He and his crew arrived 8:00, right on time and did the repairs exactly as quoted. The only negative was that I had to do some follow-up cleaning of some greasy fingerprints on the siding that they re-installed. All in all...good job.

Their price was comparable. They were very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. I wanted to have a few other estimates before making my final decision.

Brian was professional, on time and easy to work with from the very beginning. He worked with our schedule and his team were clean, respectful of our property, hardworking and on time. A great experience overall.

I woke up to my roof leaking at 4 a.m. I called Genovese at 7 a.m. and left a message -- I got a call back in seven minutes, and a roofing foreman at my house in thirty minutes! The roofing foreman took pictures of the damaged area on his iPad, then emailed them to his boss while still at my house. They called me with a reasonable price to put emergency measures in place, while I got quotes for permanent repairs. By noon, the emergency tarp was up over my leaking roof. This all took place before I knew that Genovese has done the roofing jobs on two of my neighbors' homes!

Called on holiday weekend and got a quick response. Fast email estimate. Fast appointment to see job. Work was done quickly and cleaned up nicely. Quality of work top notch. No problems at all. Price and service were the best of all 3 companies I contacted. Will recommend to my friends.

I got estimates from 4 roofing contractors with good ratings on Angie's list. After applying coupons and discounts, Genovese roofing was the lowest estimate (and best rated) of the 4. We contacted them and set up a install date for the next week. They took care of all permits, showed up early on the install date and finished by the afternoon. Brian Genovese was a pleasure to deal with and we're happy with the work.

I am very satisified with the work that Genovese provided. Brian Genovese (the owner) was very professional, punctual, and efficient. The services provided were also very fairly priced. About a year ago, I received a quote for gutter guards from one of the national gutter franchises. The price i was quoted at the time was for $1050. Brian and his crew completed the same job for $360! The gutter guards are also of the same, or better, quality. Overall, I would definitely use Genovese Roofing and Siding again and would recommend them to anyone.

I haven't followed through on it yet. He was very responsive. I got brochures, samples and references.

He never called back. I tried calling twice. I spoke to someone in the office but he didn’t call back. He did good work but didn’t call. I think that’s unreliable. I would never use him again in the future.

The overall job went fine. When I got home that day, I noticed that they did not do the roof fascia above the back door - they did around the inside of the back door. I called Brian and he sent them back the next day. They obviously misunderstood what they were supposed to do. Then they came back the next day and did what they had to do. They had to fix something on the door that wasn't right and the one guy didn't understand what he was supposed to do. I had left a note on the door since I work. If I didn't come home early, it would not have been fixed. I think it would have been better if they had come out for the estimate when I was home. It turned out good.

Good price ,good work, just took a lot longer than I was told initially to finish the job as they were busy on other jobs and due to weather.

Estimate was competitive with two others. Communications with Brian were excellent. The job went very fast and, as far as I can tell, with no sacrifice in quality. Clean-up was better than expected. A lot of care was taken to protect plants around the outside of the house. I would suggest specifically pointing out concerns such as this ahead of time. This was a much better experience than we had with a reroofing job at another house we owned several years ago. A rain gutter was bent and some siding slightly damaged during the job. A crew came back and took care of these minor problems quickly and with a good attitude.

Brian Genovese came out and provided an estimate promptly at the times promised. He promptly answered any questions about the estimate whether by email or phone. If I couldn't reach him by phone he returned my call within an hour or two. In addition, his price was the best I was quoted although all quotes were within 10% of each other. Once I contracted for the re-roofing, he met his schedule commitments, finished the job in one day, and cleaned up meticulously. He also replaced the skylights in my screened in porch and spent the time with me to select the best skylights for the application. I would recommend him to anyone needing a new roof.

Brian is an excellent and professional workman. The work was done in an extremely prompt time frame and at an extremely reasonable cost.

Estimate was $2000 less than others. Completed job very quickly. Great communication, nice people. Completely satisfied.

Quick response to request for quote. Quick scheduling of work. Work delayed one day due to rain. On day of the work theystarted at 7:30 AM stripping the old roof. Old roof was off by 9:30 AM. They were careful about protecting plantings and flowers. By 3:00 PM the roof was complete, they were cleaning up the yard including using a magnet on wheels to look for stray nails and metal. Dumpster was removed the next day. Excellent job. Would recommend them.

Brian was very nice and professional, both during the estimate process and during the actual work. He explained everything along the way. This was my first time getting any roof work done, so I was clueless and worried that the estimate would be lower than the actual work. But Brian explained what the worst case scenario would be, so I was prepared. The final cost was several hundred dollars LOWER than I expected it to be. The roof is brand new, so I can't speak to the longevity, but I am very pleased with the way the Genovese team worked with me. They came when they said they were going to and they finished on time. Can't ask for more than that.

We needed a new roof on our house. We contacted a few roofers from Angie's list. We decided to go with Genovese Roofing & Siding. (The price was not the lowest) However, we felt comfortable with Bryan. He answered all our questions, explained how things would be done, and away we went! We had the old roofing totally torn off. And a complete new roof put on. The crew was on time, it was done in the time they said it would take, the property was well protected and the new roof looks great! It has already been battle tested by all the rain lately and we are proud to report, no problems. Bryan was really easy to get a hold of, he was really great to talk with and explain things to us. He even went a little above and beyond with helping with some existing satellite cables that were on my roof. And, we got to use a 350 dollar coupon from Genovese for angie's list members.

Brian Genovese sent me pictures via email which was helpful since I don't live in NJ and needed to hire someone to work on my mother's house. The pictures showed the old gutters falling off the house so I could understand just how bad the situation was. Genovese's price was lower than another gutter repair outfit. There was some debris left over from the old supports and it would have been good if they could have cleaned that up. Other than that they did a fine job.
