Genovese Roofing and Siding

On Thursday 9/20 I called to have an estimate on roof repair. Spoke to a pleasant women who said they would try to get some one out the next day (Friday) to have a look at the requireed work. She did say they were a bit busy due to recent storms so they might not be out until Monday (9/24). It's now Monday 10/1. Haven't heard a peep. You'd think a company would want to get their foot in the door with a customer that has a 21 year old roof.

They were really quick about getting their estimate to me - the next day. I didn't hire them because they didn't do gutter work which I also needed at the same. Their price was not the best but it was reasonable.

The inspector we hired to look at the house we are wanted to buy indicated that the property needed a roof. It was not leaking, but because of some design features in the ventilation system, some of the plywood in the sheathing had de-laminated. We had several bids and felt that Brian Genovese was the one we wanted to work with. Our first scheduled date was rained out, and we re-scheduled for the end of that week. The crew arrived at 7:45 and set to work tearing off the two layers of roof (house is 34 years old), replaced the defective plywood, and were installing the roof by early afternoon. Halted by darkness, they came back in the morning and finished it off. Good thing, it rained later in the day. Great crew to work with. We would give them an A+.

This was a small job for Genovese, but gave me the same treatment as if it were a $10,000.00 job.I am very pleased from my initial contact to the finish. I would not hesitate to contact Genovese for my next rooofing or siding job. He is the real McCoy.

All scheduling was done through Hope, a very nice woman who was pleasant and accommodating. I called midway through one week and as the employees were at a conference, the estimate was scheduled for first thing the following Monday morning which was fine as this was not an emergency repair. The man who came to do the estimate was friendly and took a picture of the old flanges to show me what the problem was. He said that my roof was in pretty good shape otherwise, though there is one area of possible concern that we should just keep our eyes on. I was very pleased that he didn't seem to be trying to get more money out of us, and in fact there was no attempt to get payment until the job was completely done. The repair happened just two days later and this employee was also very nice. He explained what he would be doing and even asked permission to pull his truck into the driveway. He did not show me pictures of the finished work, but explained what he had done and I had no reason for complaint. The final price did not deviate from the estimate at all, and though I did not seek estimates from other companies, I felt that I payed a fair price. They accept credit cards which I always appreciate (Awards $$!) I will definitely contact this company for future roofing needs!

Contacted two contractors who had favorable ratings, but neither called back at all. Then contacted another two favorably rated contractors, and only Genovese responded. Arranged an appointment, at which I received a competitive estimate, and had the work done during that same visit. Professional, friendly, and also let me know that the roof was otherwise in great condition and in need of nothing. While actually a very minor repair, it is nonetheless quite upsetting to have water leaking through interior ceilings. During my calls to each of the contractors, I made mention of how the leaks lined up with the vent pipes and how it was likely a matter of failed flanges. Unlike the nonresponsive contractors, Genovese made it clear that while large projects are naturally preferable, they are there to address small repairs as well.

We have had a difficult time finding contractors for small jobs. I don't like roof work, so replacing the attic fan was not something that I wanted to do. We have tried to get several other contratcors to install the attic fan, and they either never returned calls, never showed up after scheduling an appointment, or were too pricey. I joined Angie's List primarily to find someone who we could get to do this attic fan replacement. I saw that Genovese Roofing had excellent ratings and reviews. They absolutely lived up to their reputation. I emailed on a Saturday morning, and by the late afternoon, already had a reply from Randi. By Sunday, we had confirmed an installation for that Friday. Brian showed up at 8am on day of install, and was done in a hour! I would absolutely recommend them to other people for their promptness and relaibility. We're thinking about installing a ventilation exhaust fan in the bathroom, and we'll be calling Genovese Roofing again.

The employees were very nice and returned phone calls as promised. They were not set up to offer free financing. They said it would be avilable at a future date.

I had a great experience with Genovese. I called 3 companies for estimates on my roof. The first company's estimate was $1000 higher than Genovese, and did not include the shed, a replacement skylight window and replacement gutters. The second company was nearby and made an appointment to come and never showed up. I called and left a message, they never returned my call or showed up. Genovese made an appointment for the estimate with me and an hour before the appointment the office called and said Brian would be a half hour late. Brian showed up about a half hour late and was very nice and professional. They started the job a day late due to pouring rain but the crew was here first thing the next morning and Brian was here off and on during the day. The electrician who worked with Genovese came that day too, to do the window. Everything went as planned. The roofs and window were finished that day and the yard was clean. The workers did a good job. Brian was friendly and very nice to work with, as was his sister, Hope, who takes care of everything in the office. They both were very professional answering all my questions. And if Hope didn't know the exact answer about materials etc., she would get back to me right away or have Brian call me. None of my phone calls went unanswered. My roof looks great and the new skylight window is a Velux and is exceptional in looks and quality. My new gutters, done while I was at work, are also a better looking design than the old ones.

Work was completed very fast and neat.

I had shopped this roof replacement with 4 roofers. 2 came back with pricing in the $10K range they other 2 were 30% higher. There was no question to use Brian and Hope, Brian saw the difficulties and the nuances of the job from the get go. Removing cedar is a messy job, the dormers of the house could have been damaged, they would require repainting (which Brian's team offered to do and no one else did), the potential for the gutters to be damaged was also there (Brian fixed and replaced where needed), Brian was the only roofer who wanted to see inside the home just to make sure what was going on and he ended up being the only one to point out a critical detail which was that parts of the ceiling in our formal living room were uninsulated and the bead-board ceiling would be exposed to the elements once the cedar was removed, that smaller nails and care was critical for our 90year old home. The team was courteous, professional, fast, coordinated and tidy. What more could you ask for aside from being competitive?!? We love our new roof and so does everyone on our street! r Very easy to contact. E-mailed the request on a Saturday afternoon and had an e-mail response on Sunday. Had the estimates a few days once the roofing was inspected. OK'ed the replacement on the following Sunday and Brian dropped off shingle sample book. and then followed up with actual samples we were interested in the next day. OK'ed everything and the job was scheduled for the following Thursday. Brian answered all the questions we had and provided recommendations concerning attic ventilation. All quality materials were used. We have a simple A-frame roof. From the time the materials hit our yard to job completion was between 4-5 hours. Unbelievably quick scheduling and completion. Very pleased with evefrything about this job, from the people we dealt with the the materials and finished job. Accurate estimate for final cost. There's a reason they have the ratings they have here! Highly recommend.

Showed up on time, 7:30am, completed job by 2: pm. Cleaned up all debris from yard. Job looks good.

The process to replace the roof was outstanding. Brian was professional every step of the process and helpful even after the job was complete. He was one of two roofers who submitted a proposal of over a dozen we called. He went out onto the roof to survey what had to be done. He followed up with an estimate and any questions I had in a timely fashion. The work was started and completed in a few days, inckuding a day delay due to weather, minimizing any disruptions to us and our tenant.

Overall, it went great, they came on time early in the morning and finished that day. I did my walk thru and Brian walked along with me and addressed any loose ends I found right then and there the right way. They take their time to do the job right the first time.

Everything went satisfactorily. The price was good compared to other rates I received and the performance was good as well.

I have never written any reviews to date and this company is definitely most worthy of a positive review! From start to finish, Brian was extremely patient with all my questions, courteous, and very helpful. My father is an architect who scrutinized his estimate and said it was one of the most thorough he has ever seen and to go with these guys. Genovese is a family owned company and very well run. Their prices are competitive and fair, and the work is amazingly fast but of quality! Brian even came back several times to address my questions and concerns before the job was done. My whole roof was completed in one day and all of my issues were addressed. I have absolute confidence in referring this company and giving them an A+++! I honestly have never had a company THIS wonderful to work with and wished Genovese did more than just roofing. However, it pays to hire roofing experts, because then you know you are getting quality skills and products. There is a high degree of professionalism that is rare in the service industry these days, and Genovese exhibits that. This company is top notch!

Excellent experience. Arrived on time and worked wuickly and cleanly. Went out of his way to help find an unusual product. Kept to estimate and honored discount. Later returned to answer questions which, in retrospect, were not their responsibility. Very impressed in every way.

Very quick response, followed by the owner showing up to look at the roof and then quoting me that night. They were able to complete the work in a few hours a couple of weeks later after several rainshowers delayed their response. Very solid work, no problems since, and it looks a million times better than the cheap job the former homeowners had done.

They are still in the bidding process. They were fine. The experience was completely satisfactory.

They were on time and reasonably priced. They did a good job overall. We have a large Victorian roof with lots of gables; so the price was good. the workers were professional and cleaned up after themselves.
