Genovese Roofing and Siding

Brian was able to identify the color of my shingles, which I had not been able to identify. I contacted him on Sunday about one spot on my roof. As I looked closer at my roof I noticed shingles missing on a few other locations. He came on Monday with the singles and was able to fix all of the areas. He stayed within the $250 price limit, even with the additonal locations. I would highly recommend this roofing company. I plan to get a price from him for installing a roof ridge in a few months.

He came out, gave an estimate and came a week or so later to do the work. Very professional and timely. Very happy with work. I believe the work was done in September or October 2010.

I called Genovese after searching Angie's List because I had spent a large sum of money getting leaks repaired and a roof replacement done by another vendor. When leaking continued and he wouldn't return my calls or honor the warranty. Seeing how well Genovese was rated, I chose to call him to see if he could look at my roof. Not only did he return my calls promptly, he came the same day, was very professional, repaired the poor job done by the previous contractor and even replaced my attic light bulb for me. He inspected the rest of the roof as well as the interior of the attic for signs of additional leaks, made some recommendations, then scheduled another appointment with me to do some additional work. I haven't had a problem with the roof since then, even after our very snowy winter! I love this contractor and would use him again.

Arrived promptly, gave estimate and performed work at that time. The worker was the company owner who assessed the situation quickly and was able to make the repair at that time. I was impressed with his ability to make the repair quickly with the tools, nails and screws that he had available in his truck. He was very professional and friendly. He cleaned up completely. I was very happy with his work and hired him to repair a siding problem on the house. He came back January 10th and made that repair with the same degree of professionalism.

Inital start date pushed back because of weather. Afterwards everything went on schedule. Arrived on time; cleaned up each day after work was over. Outstanding results!

Roofing crew was sent here a few days after the job was awarded and the repair was made. After the next rain a small leak was found. Once we called, the owner came out and fixed the problem that day. It turned out to be some old rusty nails causing the problem from a previous roofing job. It's been several months now with lot's of rain and snow. No leaks at all. Great job and support.

My neighor had called Genovese for an estimate and had positive comments, so I had Brian come over to give me an estimate for my roof as well. Although his estimate was not the lowest bid, I felt more comfortable with Genovese given their favorable rating on Angie's List and the number of positive comments there. Other than price, I had less information to go on for other roofers. Once the contract was signed, work began about a week later. The crew showed up on time and nearly finished the job in one day, despite the shortness of daylight and the large size of my roof. The job was finished early the next morning. The roof looks good and I have no complaints. I appreciated that the dumpster was placed in the street, so there were no problems with damage to my driveway. The crew did a pretty good job or clean up.

Brian was friendly, courtesous, punctual and very responsive. Rain delayed the project four days and Brian would call every evening to inform us of the delays. On the evening before starting, he called again to confirm. He and his crew of six arrived on time and completed the job in one day. Everyone worked very hard and left the property pristine.

Brian from Genovese was very easy to get a hold of, he made an appointment to see the job rather quickly, was responsive to comments and questions, was competitively priced, and kept us very informed of his schedule/start date. AND he finished the job in a day like he said he would. Very professional...very nice to deal with.

It went great, very smooth and easy to work with. Brian, owner, quoted our job in early spring. He arrived promptly at the scheduled appointment was prepared and gave a verbal quote on the spot. He returned a written write up of the job within a few days. In addition he had his insurance agency send us copies of his proof of insurance, at our request. Due some difficulties we had with another contractor our job was delayed until September. I did my best to stay in touch with Brian each time I called his office his secretary either connected us on the spot or he phoned me back within a matter of hours, I also had his cell phone if I needed it which I chose not to use since I didn't have a roofing emergency, just another question or delay. He was understanding regarding the delays and always remembered who I was and what was included in our job. When we finally sorted everything out Brian was ready for us and scheduled our job to begin within a week. He was also very gracious about my millions of questions about the procedure for roofing and my additions to the job namely the removal of the chimeny which he quoted at $200 but later charged less because as he said, "it turned out to be easier than they anticipated." He willingly offered to speak directly to our mason when I expressed concern over trying to explain what Brian told me he expected the mason to do and what the mason was telling me he was going to do. The entire job took two days as I was told. One day for the roofing and one for the gutters. The roofing team arrived at the scheduled time and began work immediately. They were all very nice the job foreman was well versed with the job and remained on-site through completion, He also took time to discuss the job and of course answer more of my questions and address all my concerns. The roofing crew worked steadily and cleanly from dawn until dusk they worked a very long day staying until they completed the job, including cleaning up. When I expressed concern about the clean up (I found too many roofing nails in the yard around the house) Brian sent a couple of guys back to the house and they spent a few hours very carefully and methodically going back over the entire area. I think the reason the nails were a problem was solely because it was dusk when they were cleaning up which hampered visibility and in no way suggests that the original team was sloppy or did a bad job. The gutter installation ended up taking a few days to coordinate. They didn't show up at the scheduled time nor did they phone to say they'd be late. After tracking them down and them arriving they completed job efficiently and cleanly. They helped with the layout of the gutters which previously had been a bit odd and ineffective due to an awkward addition we have. Their fix to the layout has worked wonderfully and really served to move the water away from the foundation, which is especially important to us as we are on a hill. The new gutters look great and as I mentioned work even better than before.

They did an excellent job, came when expected were very neat and cleaned up well when they were finished. We felt the price was very reasonable as well.

There were some weather delays, but Brian called me each day to tell me why we were not on the schedule for the day (he was backed up on the other jobs due to the rain). He was supposed to start on a Monday, but finally was able to do the roof on Friday of that same week. The foreman arrived at 7:00 AM, introduced himself, and the crew of about 10 men finsihed the job in one day. The gutters were scheduled for Monday of the next week, but it rained for 3 more days. Brian called to tell us that they would start the gutters as soon as the weather cleared (more rain!). The gutter crew (2 men) showed up on Monday, 10/18, (two days late due to rain delay) and put up the gutters in 2.5 hours. They were short 20 feet of material, and are scheduled to finish the section this Friday (10/22). Brian and his crew were efficient, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. He is now doing the roofs of my two neighbors! Brian is coming back in the spring to re-roof our back porch and replace the skylights. I would not hesitate to recommend Genovese Roofing and siding to my friends and family.

I was putting down plywood in the attic above my garage to create some extra storage space when I noticed some daylight peaking through the ceiling. I started looking for possible signs of water damage afterwards and noticed a couple small water spots on the dry-wall in the ceiling of my garage which I never noticed before. I contacted GENOVESE ROOFING & SIDING who were able to come out promptly to inspect our roof. He looked over the roof and even peaked into the attic to see where the light was coming in. He said we had a few other problems besides the cracks in the ridge shingles but came up with, what sounded to me like, a pretty reasonable price so we scheduled a time in the near future for them to come out. I did not get on the roof before or after they did the work so I can't comment on the quality of their work other then that I could still see daylight in the ceiling of my attic where I saw it before. There was less light but it was definitely still there which is why I rated them down to good for quality. I would have rated them as fair but we have had a few pretty bad rain/wind storms since the work has been done and I haven't noticed any signs of water getting in which was my whole reason for calling in the first place.

Called Brian, he came out and completed an estimate the next day. I took a while to purchase, but when I was ready, so was he -- within a week his crew was at my house tearing off the old roof. Service was fast (1 day), well done, and professional. Price included all the bells and whistles.

Wonderful job! Called two companies because of good ratings on Angie's List. Genovese Roofing (Brian- owner) called back that day and came out to assess/quote within 24 hours. He scheduled the work to be completed within the next two days, got backed up, called immediately and scheduled for the third day. Came with a crew that was fast and cleaned up all the mess. My husband, who has knowledge and some experience in the building trades, was very happy with the quality of the work. Would certainly recommend!

I thought they did a very good job.

We've had a few big storms, and so far everything looks good. He did a good job. I was very pleased with the work.

Called on the 9th of june spoke to Brian who came out the next day for the estimate,Brian was great ,easy to talk to not pushy answered all my questions and gave an estimate in line with the others and i chose Genovese because of Angies List rating. He had a whole crew out on the 16th of june, had a dumpster delivered tore off the old roof and put on the new one the crew was fast and good they covered everything with tarps and had one person that did nothing but clean up. i had no problems and every thing went smooth a few days later they came out did the gutters and again all went smooth. We are very happy with Genovese and the job they did!

A few days after I called Brian he came to give us a free estimate. He was running a little late and called. Two days later Brian emailed us a resonable estimate. We had a lot of questions and Brian patiently answered all of them. Even when we called him numerous times, he was easy to reach or he called us right back. The job took two days. One to do the roof and one to reside the chimney. The crew was on time and worked hard. Through the process, Brian answered any questions we had about what they were doing. Even when we didn't feel comfortable with what they were doing on the lower part of the chimney, Brian explained to us why it was like that and offered suggestions to make it look nicer. Brian even repaired a small problem on the roof over the main house and didn't charge us. The clean up was pretty good. They took all their trash. However, we found a few stray nails. Through the process Brian was very polite, and willing to make us happy customers. We went through numerous rainstorms since then and NO LEAKS!

We sold our house and during inspection found that the chimney flashing was leaking (rough winter). We found Genovese on Angie's list and also saw his signs in our neighborhood. Brian came out promptly and gave us a reasonable quote to replace the vent covers, replace some missing shingles, replace the sheathing around the chimney and install new flashing. After this was accepted by our buyers, Brian and his crew were here promptly on the day that he said he would be here. The site was very clean (I saw one of his crew members pick up a small plastic bag and put it in the trash while they were waiting for me to pay the invoice).

I spent about $1,000 on that work. I wasn?t available when they came out and did the work and I think they showed up on time.

Brian Genovese called me in response to my e-mail. I asked for an estimate for repairs to a section of damaged shingles on the main roof. He promised to visit the property and give me an estimate. About a week later, he did call, but not with an estimate. His opinion was that the damaged roof shingles were better NOT being replaced. The damage may be related to the heat of the day when they were installed, possibly due to workers walking on them, etc. He felt that the roof was close to the end of its life anyway, that removing the shingles could lead to larger problems with the planking underneath, and that it could be difficult to match the older shingles without the repair being obvious. Since there is no evidence of water leakage, Mr. Genovese recommended leaving the existing shingles alone but planning to replace the entire roof, down to the beams, in the near future. My one concern is that he stated that he only viewed the roof from the ground and did not climb a ladder for closer inspection of the shingles.

I was very happy with him. His name is Brian Genovese. He went the less expensive route first to see if that is what it is. If it doesn't work then he will have to replace all of the shingles and roofing He was great. Our house is at the 10-11 year mark and I would definitely use him again. He called me back within an hour. I recommended him to my neighbor.

We didn't find any fault with them it was just that the price was a little higher. It was close race. They were professional and one of the first to bring out samples. I was very impressed and would recommend them.

He changed the ridge vent and also replaced a couple of shingles. He did a really good job, but he was more expensive than another person who had come out. However, he was the only person who had climbed into my attic to look at the problem from the inside. I haven?t had a problem since the issue was fixed.
