Description of Work: Mike Chambers is my go to place for any electrical work that I need. I have not had the means to rewire and upgrade the service in my home from 100 amp to a higher level but I do use them for small jobs such as replacing switches, outlets, installing fixtures, and the like. The are always professional, courteous, and prompt. Sometimes I call them and feel awkward because the jobs I ask them to do are so small but they are always responsive and I have never had an issue with their service. I would recommend them to anyone requiring electrical service. On one occasion, I attempted to do an electrical repair myself and screwed it up. I called Chambers on a Saturday to have them come and repair my mess. I was having a house full of company the next day and was desperate. I got a call back from the owner, explained the situation, and he had someone there within the hour. That one cost me a little more because it was an emergency call but well worth it.

+ -1 moreI was having my elderly father's house painted and one of the painters informed me that one of the outside outlets, which had been working previously, was not working on this particular day. He attempted to help me find the problem by looking at the old fuse box down in the basement but we were unable to locate the problem. These were older fuses and the box was basically unlabeled...very frustrating. I called Mike Chamber's Electric, explained the situation and within an hour or so an electrician was at the house. He checked the fuses and found the one that was blown out (but hadn't looked blown out). It was an old fuse that they don't normally have stocked in their trucks, so he had to make a quick run back to his shop (same town so it didn't take long) to see if they had any in stock. He returned in about a half hour, was able to replace the blown fuse and electricity was restored to the problem area of the house. I was pleased that yet another frustration at my Dad's house was taken care of quickly and professionally.
Description of Work: We had lost power to several areas at my elderly father's home. After attempting to locate the problem in an old fuse box that was basically unlabeled, I called Mike Chambers/Oakhurst Electric. An electrician arrived within an hour or two and was able to locate an old fuse that had blown (but hadn't looked blown out). He had to make a quick run to his shop for a replacement fuse because it was an older type that they don't really use much anymore. When he returned, he was able to remedy the situation and restore our power.

+ -1 moreMike came because my central air stopped working and the air conditioner service rep suggested the problem might be in the electrical system. I joined Angie's List on Thursday, received a call from Mike's office on Friday and Mike was at my house to "check and give me an estimate" on Monday at noon. When he saw that he could immediately solve the problem in the short term with equipment he had available he did so for a very reasonable cost and got this heat hater back in my comfort zone. He then suggested a further service that would help to prevent future problems, but used no pressure tactics to coerce me into scheduling the job. I really appreciated that and will definitely give the job to Mike when the time comes.
Description of Work: Mike quickly and efficiently replaced a circuit to allow my central air to work.

+ -1 moreHe took the time to realy find the source of all 3 issues. He thoroughly evaluated and fixed all 3 items in a very professional manner. After the first visit I had another problem with my under cabinet lights, the owner got on the phone with (was very pleasant and quick to help). He sent his employee back out to my house and fixed the problem at no additional charge. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again. Fair, honest and willing to put the customer relationship first...instead of only looking to make a quick buck.
Description of Work: This company was great. I needed some electrical outlets, bathroom fan and under-cabinet lights in my kitchen fixed. The electrician was right on time, very friendly and informative. He took the time to really find the source of all 3 issues. He thoroughly evaluated and fixed all 3 items in a very professional manner.

Description of Work: I received an estimate for a hard wired doorbell. The price was extremely reasonable. The electrician was right on time, super nice and helpful. He gave me the estimate right on the spot. Unfortunately I was layed off the following week and had to stick with my wireless doorbell but I would have used them in a heartbeat and I'm sure the work would have been impecible.

+ -1 moreIt was a pleasure to have the work done so quickly, late on a Saturday after a thunderstorm took out a tree that completely ripped our electric service off the home. If only the power company was this responsive. They did not restore power for 24 hours.
Description of Work: A fallen tree ripped out our electric service. Mike Chambers electric was at our home within 1 hour, completed the reinstall, all between 3PM and 8PM on a Saturday.
