Had a little misunderstanding with how the work was going to be done but in the end Bloomfield worked with us and we found a solution that would work for both of us. I would hire them again because of that.

It went well. They came out qucikly and got the furnace running again (it was VERY cold out) They recommended additional service which we have not had done yet.

The services provided were excellent. The technicians were kind and professional. They discovered that our problem was due to one particular electrical outlet in our kitchen and promptly fixed it.

Responded amazingly fast. Great technician, professional and knowledgeable. Will be using them again in the future.

They diagnosed the problem and did a good job.

Tried to use igniter from truck, but didn't fit. Gave price of additional $250 to put in $30 part, requiring about 1 minute of 'installation' time and said he wasn't sure that would fix the problem. Total would have been $350 for a $30 part and almost no time required (loosen and tighten 1 screw and plug one wire into another, easy access). I had seen a similar comment from another customer but did not pay enough attention. The technician seemed nice, but I felt the price he got from calling the office was too high for what needed to be done. The technician mentioned a concern about freezing pipes, which was obvious. I felt taken advantage of due to the possibility of freezing pipes and told them so. I was also disappointed in the provider that referred them. I had work done for a fraction of the price by someone else.

It was a very easy experience and he was very helpful. I wish I had gone with them.

The Issue: I had originally called Bloomfield Cooling and Heating to come out to my house to troubleshoot a specific problem I was having with my furnace (roll out fuse on furnace jacket was tripping every 2-3 days requiring the fuse to be replaced in order for the electronic gas valve to receive voltage and turn on the burners). Unfortunately the tech came to the house while I was at work and I didn't get a chance to see his work first hand but when I got home I was surprised by what I had found. The troubleshooting that the tech performed led him to two conclusions: 1. The chimney was clogged/dirty to the point that it was blocking airflow from the furnace to the chimney causing the furnace to overheat. 2. The heat exchanger was rotting and breaking apart from the over heating which in turn also caused the roll out fuse to trip. (104 degrees celcius). The tech called me after he completed his work to let me know his findings and was both professional and courteous. While at my house, he cleaned out the heat exchanger ($125 approximate charge on top of the $125 diagnostic fee), replaced the fuse with a replacement I had ordered (said he didn't have any), cleaned out the flue and chimney opening and told me he'd email me the invoice later detailing the work. He stated that I need to get a cap installed on my chimney and also clean it out to remedy the situation but also told me I needed a new furnace since the one I had was about to crumble apart at any moment. He informed me I'd have to call the office to schedule another person to come out to give me a quote on a new furnace. Not great news... Got home that night to take a look and noticed something strange. The roll out fuse he installed was already tripped and completely bypassed?! It wasn't cabled correctly at all. (Full Discolsure: It was temporarily wired this way so I could at least get heat until the fuse issue was sorted out - hopefully by the tech that was servicing my furnace at this point). That's when I started to doubt the advice I had been given. So for the next few days I went about monitoring the temperature of the furnace (and the surrounding ambient temperature around the furnace, furnace jacket, exhaust hood, etc) with an IR thermometer. The ambient temperature didn't seem to be getting above 35 degrees celcius so I didn't see how it was possible for the roll out fuse to be tripping. I was stumped. Called Bloomfield again to get another tech out to my house and reached an on call tech who said they'd be at my house in an hour but they never showed and never called. Tried reaching them on the number they called me from but it always went straight to voicemail. What gives? At that point it looked like I'd have to figure this out on my own so I continued to monitor the temperatures of the furnace and did some research on the furnace from the manufacturer's website. While looking at the manufacturer's documentation, I noticed that the furnace jacket has a thick walling of HTIW (high temperature insulating wool) lining the entire inside of the jacket which guards the jacket from the high temps of the furnace. So I reached underneath the jacket to check the lining and lo and behold, the lining had been pushed away from the very spot where the roll out fuse was attached to the jacket of the furnace (bottom side of where the diagnostic panel is between the gas valve and the burners). Once the thermal wool was repositioned and in the right place the fuse stopped tripping. I decided that I'd give Bloomfield one last shot and see what their estimate came out to for a new furnace since I wasn't able to see what the tech saw when he cleaned out the heat exchanger but I just couldn't trust them because they refused to tell me what the break down of the quote was for the new furnace (parts vs. labor). When I called back asking how much of the quote was for the actual furnace and how much was for the labor of the installation, they told me they couldn't do that and all they could give me was a flat price (which I had never heard of before in any service business). Maybe that's normal for HVAC type businesses? Either way, I'll be going somewhere else for a second opinion on a new furnace and won't accept a quote unless they can give me a detailed breakdown of what I'm paying for.

I had a good experience with them. It was easy to make an appointment. They arrived for the appointment on time. They were very professional and courteous. It was an overall good experience.

Needed 24 hour emergency service as they advertise for a broken furnace. I was told to call back in two days because they were closed. I guess it's 24 emergency service some of the time.

Over the last 7 years, they have professionally handled all of my heating and cooling needs. Their technicians are prompt and professional. Provide the details needed to diagnose the issues when they come up. Knowledgable and friendly staff when making appointments. There was a leak issue with the cooling coil. Thankfully, I had a service plan and the repair job cost me significantly less than what otherwise would have been a very expensive repair. Their installation process of a cooling system into older homes is excellent. Minimal cuts into walls and ceilings; thoroughly cleaned after each day they were in my home. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

They worked with me to schedule the appointment to work with my schedule. Technician arrived on time and was most courteous. He did a thorough inspection of my 20+ year old heating unit, answered all my questions plus gave me helpful insights and suggestions. Would definitely employ them again for any future needs.

Michael is a professional and knowledge guy. He came to our house and answered our questions regarding the effeciency/size of the furnace, and promised us he will give us a quote. Two days later, we still didn't receive any message from the company. I called his office. A lady picked up the phone call, and promised she will return my call. I never receive any phone call. What's going on here? If you are probably too busy to do our work, but please let us know. send an email, a text message or make a phone call. it's not that hard. Now I lost the discount from another company(He provided me the discount because he has a slot on this Friday) and have to start over again. Time is precious.

Great. Fast and precise knowledge of the issue.

Technician arrived on time, was extremely courteous, covered his shoes each time he entered the house. His maintenance service was very thorough. He took the time to explain everything to me. I asked about additional services available and their costs and the technician was very knowledgeable and also had brochures to leave behind with the information I requested. As a result, we signed up for annual maintenance service for our furnaces, air conditioners, humidifiers and the generator that Bloomfield installed last year.

The company contacted me to inform me they couldn't service my area. This caused me to have to get a refund.

They put in an A/C system in May and they are coming back this month to install the second system. Everything went really well with them.

It was good. The job was done and they also came during the weekend. It was a little expensive but otherwise the service was very good. They were good and professional. I would consider using them in the future if I did not have any choice.

Technician performed a Clean and Check which I ordered due to the pilot light keeps going out. He said if I needed the thermocouple replaced I should call in for a repair. The pilot light kept going out so I called again to request repair service. On service viisit he came back and replaced the thermocouple. Pilot light continued to go out so I called PSE&G to check furnace. PSE&G technician cleaned pilot and reseated pilot/thermocouple. Now instead of a lazy flame the pilot light was noticeably stronger. From that time pilot light has stayed lit.
