I had a very difficult time getting anyone to even agree to replace my ductwork. I had 3 or 4 other contractors look at the job and decline. I had recently had demolition and renovation in my house, and that crew (Dasa Design Build) had allowed the demolition debris to go down a duct -- so the dust and filth from 1949, when the house was built, were spraying all over my house. Jack Lamb (co-owner) didn't even flinch when I asked him to replace the ductwork. He gets a lot of extra points for that willingness. When assessing the job, he was very attentive to my wishes and concerns, unfortunately he did not communicate them all to his foreman, so some rework had to be done, eg one long run was hung too low and had to be moved up flush with the ceiling. After work began, I realized he was installing some very cheap product (up to code, but not what I thought I would be getting). It was "flexible" ductwork (a mouse could chew through it), and I thought I was getting my metal ducts replaced. Apparently, most customers around here are more worried about price than quality. So I surmised Jack was trying to be considerate. Anyhow, they stopped work, (made me wait a week without being able to use the system), ordered the metal ducts, and proceeded to do a fairly good job. The crew was largely inexperienced (eg, they broke the humidistat and had to replace it, they had to cut an extra hole in the shiny new metal and tape up the mistake hole with ugly wrinkled metal tape, they did not know how to adjust the sheath on the Reme Halo according to specs, the toe kick is not centered under my kitchen sink). One of the electricians was extremely rude (downright flip). The foreman was very cranky and non-communicative. And, there were multiple stops and starts while Jack learned what it was I was really willing to purchase to address my needs (the job was scheduled to take 1 or 2 weeks, but took a month). Since all the vent and return registers were to be replaced, I kept having to pull my furniture away from the wall and put it back each time they went away and made me wait. Some of the holes in the wall where the registers go were left open and were large enough for my little dog to get into and fall down the chute. I ended up covering them myself with foil and painter's tape, and finally gave up moving the furniture back to where it belonged; so it was all out of place and I was tripping over it for a couple or few weeks. I kept expecting that the next time they returned they would put the new registers on, but that was the very last thing to happen. I'm not sure why they didn't just leave the old registers on until the end. So, that seemed to be poor planning and was certainly an avoidable inconvenience. On the last of work, I found the electrician using my vacuum. At the end of the day (and only because I insisted) Jack inspected the work and made the crew fix whatever was done improperly; the air in my house is no longer making me sick. It isn't as smooth and pretty as a proud craftsman would prefer, but it all works fine. I would say that if you use this company, you will have to work very hard at communicating with them, you might expect to be unnecessarily personally inconvenienced, and you will have to follow them around and make sure they are doing what you want. However, on the other hand, I do believe Jack aimed to please, and he is very economical with resources and expenses, so the price is extremely fair. I will use this company again (so I don't have to break in anyone else); in the end, they finally understood what was important to me. I especially love my new Reme Halo (thanks for recommending this, Jack -- I had never heard of this product before), and I highly recommend it to anyone concerned about the quality of their indoor air.

Unfortunately, after losing our heat twice last winter and having problems right off the bat at the start of the fall this year, HVAC technicians confirmed that it was time to change our boiler. I went ahead and got a quote from 4 different companies: two HVAC companies and two plumbers. Not only did Bloomfield offer me the best price, but they were also the most responsive, answered my questions directly and installed, what I feel is, the highest quality boiler. FYI, another company quoted me 2500$ more for the same boiler...! The day of the installation, the guys came in on time, were polite, cleaned up after themselves and finished the work in a day. I really appreciated that the company followed with me the next day to check on my level of satisfaction. Very professional. I highly recommend these guys.

Tech came to service the unit on time, and completed the work in about an hour. He explained the tests he ran to make sure the unit will work smoothly and efficiently. I like.

I couldn't be more pleased with the level of service and professionalism displayed by Bloomfield Heating and Cooling. From first point of contact, to the office staff, sales and installation this company is the epitome of what you want from a contractor. They are responsive, punctual, honest and do neat and thorough work. They exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of heating or cooling services and would definitely use them in the future.

Johnny was on time, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He even checked my attic crawl space unit completely (none of my previous contractors have done that due to the very cramped space). I highly recommend Bloomfield Cooling for their professionalism.

The dealer who installed my generator did not offer service, so I searched a few places in Angie's List and found Bloomfield. Of all the places, their price was the best and they were by far the most organized and professional. Candace, arranged everything on the phone. After giving her my generator specs, she knew everything about my unit. She then arranged for service - THE NEXT DAY - which was really important to me because of a possible hurricane strike in the next week. The paperwork and contract were very professional, and she sent a picture of the technician, Lorenzo, who would service the unit. Lorenzo arrived at my house a few minutes earlier than the scheduled time (imagine that!). He was extremely polite and professional. I'm not a handy person, and I was afraid to touch anything regarding the unit. But I knew that if we lost power for a few days, I might have to change the oil myself after a few days of continuous running. He was patient with me as I watched and he showed me what he was doing. He knew exactly what he doing, and did the job quickly and confidently - including a software update from Generac. He then cleaned all around the generator and then ran it for 10 minutes to make sure everything was working. I have Generac Mobile Link, so get e-mail and text alerts whenever there is any change in status regarding my generator. There is an option to enter a dealer code on the website, so the dealer can receive those as well. Bloomfield participates in that service, which I'm sure a lot of smaller places do not. That's really important to me, because if the power goes out, I need to be sure that my generator will work - WITHOUT FAIL. If they get alerts, they will have the opportunity to proactively contact me to take care of any problems. This is just an additional piece of mind. Overall, an excellent experience. Looking forward to working with them in the future on this and other projects. (I'm in the market for a new furnace).

Every step of the process was conducted efficiently and professionally from the estimate to completion of the job. I believe 7 crew members came for the install and were able to complete the job in one day. The condenser malfunctioned about a month or two later. A crew member came out immediately to assess the situation, a new condenser was ordered, and quickly installed at no cost to me. The company representatives were very attentive to all of my questions and concerns. I highly recommend Bloomfield Cooling, Heating, and Electric!

Unsatisfactory and unacceptable service practices. Without even knowing the extent of my job, I was told my the person who answered the phone that they do not go to Newark even though they allege to service all of Essex County. I firmly believe this is unlawful and discriminatory practices.

I called on a Sunday and left a message, and my call was returned on Monday by a receptionist who was helpful in helping me get an idea as to how much to expect for the quote. She says that an actual quote would need to be made by an HVAC technician after a walk-through of our property. However, the only times that a technician can come by is Monday-Thursday during the day, when both my husband and I work, and there is no flexibility around that - even after I offered that I go into work late one day to meet them. I unfortunately will need to go to another provider for this service as I don't believe that I should take a day off of work, lose pay, just so I can hand my money to a business who is not flexible enough to gain my business.

I paid the balance due and about 2-3 weeks later, we got a refund for $347.75. They sent the refund without us even asking. That's the way to do business. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I had a leak in the AC system, another vendor who had come to look at it told me that it would cost me over 3000 dollars repair because my AC's "cooling coils" had ruptured and need to be replaced. Then i called up Bloomfield Cooling and Heating to get an alternate opinion. The service technician Santine Aponte, was a pleasant surprise. Very professional, knowledgeable and honest - who's intent was to help resolve the problem and not gouge money. It was a much simpler fix (a clogged pipe) that cost me a fraction of the $3000 the other vendor suggested. A very pleasant service experience and Santine is a great asset to the company. I would highly recommend this company. Great guys to work with, especially in an industry where everyone is trying to sell you stuff and taking undue advantage of customer ignorance at times.

They did a great job. They completed the job in one day and left the place cleaner than it was before they came. They had one problem. They had ordered the wrong compressor (or the wrong compressor had been delivered to them, I wasn't sure). They were able to substitute another compressor which resulted in a slight upgrade for me at no cost (I was supposed to get a Payne, but got a Carrier). This company uses its own employees, not contractors and I think it makes a big difference. I have used them before and I will use them again.

I was very happy with everything. The guys who worked there were very courteous, they cleaned up extremely well, always updated us on the progress. I waited a couple weeks to write the review to make sure the house was properly cooling. It is. Overall, I was happy with the whole experience.

Their service was okay. I wasn't really happy with the representative. They're an "F". The reason I am saying that is because their representative liked to what's about a potential problem. The price was fine for what they did.

They did a nice job. They cleaned up from behind the fridge for me too! I will use them for all my electrical needs.

2015 The top bedroom in our home can be extremely warm at times. In addition I suffer from seasonal allergies. Going online I found that the Mitsubishi Ductless Cooling System was the perfect solution to the problem and Bloomfield Cooling and Heating was a nearby contractor. I spoke to them regarding installation and told them that because of extreme heat as well as my problems with allergies I had not been able to use the bedroom for a week. They said that because of my problems they could install the system on an upcoming Saturday. Not only that but they would supply me, gratis, a portable air conditioner for me to use until that time. A group of four arrived at our home early Saturday morning. After I showed them where the unit was to be installed they placed drop cloths on the path leading to the upstairs bedroom. We then discussed exactly where the unit was to be placed on the wall. Over the next several hours the indoor unit was secured to the bedroom wall, electrical connections were made in the bedroom as well as from the cellar to an outside wall and a unit was secured to the the outside wall. By mid-afternoon they were finished with the installation and all the drop cloths were removed and the inside and outside areas cleaned up. The operation of the unit was then explained to me and I was given additional paperwork including an operating manual. I was told to contact them in the spring for maintenance including cleaning of the filters. When the truck left, in it was the portable air conditioner they had loaned me. What a fine experience!

Great experience - would use again

I've been a happy customer of Bloomfield air and heat for the last four years. They do my AC tune ups and heating tune up work. Johnnie Aytes is the tech who works on my unit is a very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend the company for heating and AC work

The technicians were professional, courteous and efficient. This the third time they have done work for me and I have never been disappointed.

I am so disappointed with the way in which I was treated by Brianna, the company's scheduling operator. I was first told that any install would have to be completed after June 22nd because they are so busy. Fine. I was only interested in an estimate anyway. I informed Brianna that I wasn't in a rush to install. "In that case, I will just schedule your estimate for later this summer when we slow down..." is what I was told. A bit stunned, I verbalized my position (to no avail) and asked for the owner to give me a call back. That was approximately a week ago. This company's unmistakable greed has left a poor taste in my mouth. They weren't interested in honoring my request for an estimate in the near future because I wasn't necessarily in a rush to install. Essentially, there were other suckers out there ready to drop their cash now...and, as a result, I was thrown to the wayside. Near-sighted greed. I won't hold my breath waiting for the call back from the owner... Incredibly unprofessional and downright indecent. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Mr. Santine Aponte called to let us know he was on his way, he wore disposable shoe covers to keep dirt off the floors and he answered any and all questions we had regarding the servicing our the two systems. We appreciate his professionalism and friendly demeanor and we would recommend Bloomfield HVAC to our friends and family in the future based on this level of service.

I was very impressed with the technician, Lorenzo, that came to our home. He was punctual, detailed, and considerate. I would definitely use their service again.

He explained exactly what he was doing, thoroughly answered some questions that I had, and wore shoe protectors in the house, which was good. I was pleased with the service I was provided.

The first fan they installed was not satisfactory. They replaced it without a great deal of hassle. The service was excellent; the price was high.

They did a good job. Communication with them was also good. I was satisified with the result.
