Well. Very good leadership from the top and clear cut responsiveness. My questions about thermostats, electric and regulation might have been handled more thoroughly, since this is a key to saving money. Overall, a man in excellent control of his business,

Technician Will arrived and proceeded to diagnose issue with heating system during unit startup. Unit was having issue during purge/lightoff when several relays could be heard pulling in/out. Will looked over entire system during several unit starts and noted that the inducer fan sounded sluggish. He disassembled piping and found sleeve filled with condensate due to a clogged drain. Will cleared the drain, put everything back together and checked out unit for proper operation. I was happy with the professionalism, knowledge and attitude of the technician and will be signing up for an annual service contract with Bloomfield Cooling and Heating.

They were excellent in all regards. Their office was helpful in selection the right annual plan for my mom. The technician arrived on time, was very kind to my mom (and her cockatiel, Lucky, who liked him too) and did an excellent job in checking the heating system and proactively spotting two maintenance items (before any problem might occur). We will have Bloomfield Cooling and Heating address these items. Mom is very confident about this company and their work. I highy recommend this Bloomfield Cooling and Heating Co.

The quote was timely, the office staff was responsive and easy to get along with, and the work was great!

He showed up when he said he was going to. They were good at communicating what they were going to do. We decided to not go through with the project. His estimate was better than another company.

Generally, the installation from Bloomfield Heating and Cooling went well. I was only slightly disappointed in the work of their Nutley Electric division that supports the electrical installations for Bloomfield. After wishing for an Angie's List rating choice of A- or B+, I decided to rate my overall experience as an A but have shared some thoughts below to clarify my thoughts as I view the overall experience as slightly less-than-perfect. In short, the "big iron" part of this installation went flawlessly and my lingering issues with Nutley Electric are small by comparison. Mike Bloomfield met me at my home during the proposal stage and shared a very competitive proposal that was leaps and bounds better than 3 other quotes I received (including the local powerhouse in the area, Air Group). By better, I mean the equipment was nicer, had more features, and the proposal cost was $1000 less expensive. Mike also worked with me across multiple changes to the proposal and replied with questions and updated proposals over weekends, including Sundays. I was pleasantly surprised with his personal involvement in my proposal and his quick responses, especially during the busy cooling season. 3 weeks prior to the installation, the install day was delayed by 1 week, but I was offered a free filter replacement and annual servicing for my trouble. This was a nice touch. During the installation, the crew was professional, responsive, and they found a better solution for a return, by placing the return at the top of the stairs rather than through the attic. They also touched up the area around the return with paint that I provided. Nutley Electric, though, installed a thermostat that was only partially functional. When I questioned the thermonstat's lack of functions, I was advised that thermostat was working as expected and the installer had installed many similar thermostats and they all worked the same. After an online search and posting some questions to an online forum, I discovered that the thermostat should present the outside temperature and control the humidity. Both functions were lacking. After a return visit, the same tech then confirmed that the thermostat wasn't working right and ordered a new thermostat (he had shared that he would bring a replacement with him on this second visit, but didn't). On this second visit, he also left the service cover off of the outside condenser of my new unit with the cover screws spread around the unit. With his third visit, everything was installed as expected. Despite this hassle, I would and am planning to use Bloomfield Heating and Cooling again. I just might request that more oversight be placed on the service of Nutley Electric.

It was supposed to be started on Thursday. They did not come until Friday. They provided a free follow up for next year for the inconvenience. Friday was okay except one of the three units was not functioning. They came back Tuesday to replace the faulty unit on Tuesday since I was not available on Monday. The unit a are functioning great. Very happy with the product. They were very nice, neat, and helpful.

They were very professional and did an excellent job.

Young man arrived on time; did work well and quickly, added in a few extras at no cost. Was very personable, gave good advice. Only disappointment was that I was told that I could expect the replacement of the filter would have a substantial positive impact on how the air conditioning system cooled the bedroom. I have experienced litle difference from before the replacement. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with Bloomfield. They have also done work for my child at my recommendation, and she too is happy with their work.

The service agent was very professional and quick in finding out the problem. Seemed very knowledgeable and was courteous. Although $125 diagnosis fee seems a little steep, I think people in this company knows their business when it comes to investigating major problems in A/c, heating units - which, however, was not in my case.

Once they finished they told me that they would have to give me a quote to do the rest of the work. It took them two days to get me the quote, the quote was very expensive, and I found another company that would do the work for a lot less.

Telephone call to schedule an appointment was a little difficult, but since it was beginning of summer, I don't blame them as I'm sure they get A/C maintenance calls all the time. They flushed out my central A/C unit, gave it a good clean, looked over the vents, and they were kind enough to send over a certified electrician to look at an attic fan that wasn't working.

The proposal for the job fell in the middle of the estimates, on the lower estimate the guy spent less than 10 minutes in the house, didn't measure anything and ended up recommending an A/C unit smaller than anyone else (which to me meant undersized). The expensive estimate included service plans and all these convoluted options that seemed random. Mike was the only one to recommend that we go to a two zone system since we have an old house that used the heating ductwork to run the A/C, so the A/C isn't as efficient, a common problem. The 10% Angie?s List discount topped the deal. We didn?t go for the 2 zone because it was more then we could spend. We went with a Carrier system with humidity control fully understanding the limitations. The install took two days, the first day 4 or 5 guys worked all day the second just 1 guy finished the system off. The foreman and all the guys were professional and courteous. Once the job was done the foreman explained everything fully and they left the house cleaner then when they arrived.

They came within hours and found the problems, which other service providers had not been able to fix, over repeated attempts. Very nice, professional, neat cleanup. These people know what they're doing!

Eric, the technician, did a great job. There was a glitch in the installation because there was some kind of sediment in the line and they needed to leave a filter on the unit for 30 days. However, they got the cooling going immediately, and came back 30 days later to remove the filter. While it took more than an hour to remove the filter and hook the unit back up, they only charged me an hour's labor for this.

I called these guys because my boiler LWCO had malfunctioned and needed someone to jumper it out temporarily. It was freezing in my house and needed emergency service. I called at noon and was told they needed my CC info to book the appointment and then they committed to a 6PM service call that day. Since we confirmed the appointment and I had paid them already, I stopped calling other companies. At 6PM, I received a call telling me that they could not do the call after all since they were too busy. Since it was too late to call anyone else and they had my CC info already, I made arrangements for them to come the next day and I froze all night. Ultimately and in all fairness they did arrive and did an OK job jumpering out the switch and got my heat going. They called back the next day and told me the LWCO needed to be replaced and it would cost $1,200. The part seems to be about $200 on line, and looks like a 2-3 hour job, so I think that seems high. When I told them I'd get back to them about doing the job, the owner got on the phone to tell me if I didn't do this now, he'd have to come back and shut the boiler off. I felt like I was being bullied into spending more than I was comfortable with. I am going to call someone else to do the replacement.

Very good. Problem was atypical, the technician had to check a number of possibilities until the problem was found.

We were very satisfied with the service given to us by this contractor. They came when they said they would, did a good job of cleaning up after themselves, and we are thinking of getting a service contract to have this done on a regular basis.

They were polite and very clean. They even wore booties over their shoes while they were working. The job took all day but they provided us with good service. All of the work was done efficiently.

IT WAS AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS. THEY CAME WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO AND THEY GOT THE WORK DONE ON TIME. THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE AND STAYED WITHIN IT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
