Bloomfield Heating and Cooling replaced our Air Conditioning unit and furnace in July, 2017. They were very professional, prompt, and helpful throughout the planning and installation process. Our AC broke during a heat wave over July 4th weekend. When Michael, the owner, came for the estimate, he was thorough in measuring the house in order to recommend the most efficient unit. He was friendly, professional, and reassured me that the job could be completed quickly. His crew installed the units in a 1 day period. They were respectful of our home and made every effort to keep it clean; all garbage and old parts were taken away. Afterwards, they patiently and thoroughly explained the system and parts to us. They weren't sure they would be able to address my problem right away. However, they were able to assign someone who working on another call and would be able to address my problem today after he finished.They gave me a time frame for this evening and the service technician, Paul, arrived well within that slot. He was very confident and professional and replaced the clogged part that was causing the problem. I would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: It was during the recent high heat and humidity days that my central air conditioning unit wasn't functioning properly. I called Bloomfield Cooling hoping they would be able to address my problem knowing that their service men would be very busy during this hot muggy weather.

3 years ago our tech diagnosed a bad thermostat which turned out to be the batteries. Our fault and we have reached out to the homeowner to issue a credit. The customer did not want that tech to return. He is a highly skilled. This year on an after hours no heat call. The same service tech was on call and responded. The customer was upset he came even though he was able to fix the heat. He demanded a discount for this which we coudn't comply. I couldn't be happier with the work of Bloomfield. They were professional from start to finish. Calling the office always resulted in a friendly person answering the phone, no call went unanswered. Brianna and everyone else I spoke to was very helpful and patient. Nick and his crew came on time every single morning, worked tirelessly, were courteous, professional, clean, and filled me in on anything that came up. I've also setup two service calls, both were handled the same day by techs that came in and were more than thorough in testing out the system, and also in explaining what the issue was and what was done. The office and/or tech also called to confirm each appointment, and one time they also sent an email reminder with a picture of the tech scheduled to visit. They even submitted all equipment warranties in my name and then mailed me the information. Everything they do goes to show that this is a well managed and organized company, true professionals who do the job right with above and beyond customer service.

Technician came out and was at my home for about 2 hours. Ruled the furnace wasn't working due to it being dirty. He did a deep clean and changed the filter. The next day, my furnace was not working again. I called and a technician came out. He was there for 2 hours and was unable to fix it. Left me with no heat and said there was nothing they could do until Monday. This was a Friday, with expected snow the next day. The next morning I called PSE&G and within 10 minutes, they were able to get my furnace working. Said it was a faulty wire and any technician should have been able to fix it. Monday morning, I complained to Bloomfield Cooling Heating and the woman said she would talk to her supervisor and I never heard back from them. VERY disappointed with their service.

Good thing for the customer that pseg was finally able to find the problem. It was obvious either the homeowner or someone else unqualified worked on it in the past. Wanted a professional opinion on whether we need to replace furnaces or not. Bloomfield came for inspection and suggested that they give us estimate for replacement. They charged $150 each for the inspection but we have never received the estimate. They said they needed to come by again for the estimate, but they canceled the appointment in the last minute.

Both installations were prefect. Bloomfield installed the air-conditioning equipment and ductwork, patched up and cleaned up everything within a week. Excellent workmanship! There is very little loss of closet space. After some cooling air flow rebalancing among rooms during the past summer, we have ended up with a nice system which does not seem consume a lot of electricity and provides a comfortable ambient everywhere in the house. The equipment installation, gas piping, and electrical work associated with the Generac generator was also completed with great workmanship, in about three days.
Description of Work: Bloomfield performed two separate projects for us: central air conditioning and standby electric generator. We have steam radiator heating. For central air, they installed a two-zone system, one for first floor and the other for the second floor, with a single circulation fan (air handling unit) located in the attic. The air supply registers were in the ceilings, which makes for better cool air distribution than grills located on the floor. We are fortunate that house layout and closets used to run the ductwork made that possible. The Carrier compressor/condenser unit is in the back yard. The Generac 20KW natural gas fueled standby generator is also in the back yard, next to the air conditioner unit. The electrical switchgear is at the back of the house, mounted on an exterior wall with close proximity to the electrical panel located in the basement.

Excellent. It was a Saturday morning and I woke up and my house was over 80 it was 90+ outside. I didn't think I would be able to get anyone to come on a Saturday during a heat wave. We called and told them the situation and said they would check with their on call guys, to see if anyone was available. Luckily their tech "Santene" was in the area and could get to us in an hour. He was their on time and quickly identified the issue and was able to make an on the spot repair. He was courteous, and knowledgeable. and also had the part in his work van. I have used them before, but this was above and beyond good service

we install two sets of furnance/ac/humidifer at the end of 2014. Now humidifier start leaking.
Description of Work: They spend two days to have everything installed. But the furnace for the first floor doesn't work. It takes them more than 3 days to fix the issue. Now it's one and half years later, the humidify they installed start leaking. I made the service call, and they called there is no warranty for it. I have to pay everything out of my pocket for the brand unit they installed for us 1.5 years ago. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. THE SERVICE QUALITY IS VERY BAD.

I was so disappointed with my experience. They installed a new HVAC system 4 years ago and we have used them loyally ever since. The technician was nice and polite as always. After fixing the problem he had to replace the thermostat on the wall because we had removed it to try to solve the problem on our own. He did not reset the date and time that had been changed when the thermostat lost power. When I realized this a few days later and tried to fix I realized that the button I needed to enter the info was broken. I called to have the tech come out again and they wanted to charge me $150 for a visit. I felt the tech should have adjusted the date and time when he was here and I shouldn't be charged. As a loyal customer I felt the tech was responsible for completing the job and failed. It got to the point where the owner even called me to try to get my business back. He was completely condescending, it was so insulting. They have no customer loyalty and our new $8,000 system is being installed next week by another company.

Our technician went to the home only to find the thermostat hanging off the wall. it was shared that her husband tried to fix the system that was not working got angry and pulled it off the wall. Our technician re-installed the thermostat. After further investigation my tech found an emergency switch turned off. He turned the switch back on and tested the heat. All was working fine. we found nothing was broken on the thermostat and we left with the heat working. It worked for 4 more weeks. The problems started when we asked for payment. The owner felt they shouldn't have to pay since it was only a switch. Prior to my tech going out to the home he tried to walk the customer through an exercise that would have revealed a switch was off and we wouldn't have to make the visit. The customer was reluctant and preferred we make the visit. We told the customer what the diagnostic fee would be and they asked us to come out. (it was a 40 minute trip each way) We re-mounted the thermostat at no charge. The unit in four years has never had maintenance or a tune-up which would have prevented any problems. 4 weeks after our visit and leaving them with heat, The customer called with no heat which initiates a diagnostic fee and felt we should come out for free. I called to try to explain and remedy the situation to no avail. The customer hung up and left this review. We always try to be fare and honest with all our customers as they are our most important asset. We truly hate to lose customers. These costly visits and repairs can always be prevented by performing annual maintenance. We even offer it at a discount to our existing customers for only $89.00 instead of the regular price of $149.99. People perform maintenance on their cars by changing the oil. Only to ignore their most important and expensive investment....Their Home. This would have been avoided. I wish the customer good luck with their new vendor. we truly appreciated their business. I called to say that my boiler had stopped working and the pilot was out. The repair man showed up on time and sobered his shoes before he walked on my floors, which I appreciated. We went to the basement, he looked at the boiler and asked me if I had a starter like you would use for your barbecue because he had no means of lighting the pilot. My wife's brother died suddenly two dies ago , I am trying to manage a lot of things and when I think I can cross one off the list I have a repair man who can't light the pilot. I did find the starter bit as I was looking it was added stress hoping it was in the last place I left it in the summer. The repair man changed the wire that he referred to as the thermo coupling and I am sure I mid spelt that. I paid for the service which lasted about fifteen minutes and he left. An hour later the pilot went out and I noticed the temperature in our home was at 67 degrees and the thermostat was set at 70. I called for him to come back. The woman on the phone was helpful and he arrived back in a reasonable amount of time. He then checked the boiler for about forty five minutes and then told me that the gas value was closing the longer the pilot stayed on but he said he jiggled it and he said it had helped the valve stay open .Then he put his stuff away and just when I thought we were good he turned to me and said, " you know you really should replace this gas valve soon." I said ," if it's broken isn't that what you should be fixing now." He told me he didn't have the part and he would call the office and find out when they can get the part and how much it was. I asked him for a guesstimate and he said," between $300 and $500. Two days later I have not received any call back and my pilot is still going out. I have to go down re light it and jiggle the same conne tion that he wasm Today, I found the part at General Plumbing, get this, for $116.00. I also realized the manger is the husband of a woman who was a high school VP with me a long time ago. I asked him if he knew anyone who would install it for me and as I write this I am waiting for the man while my electric heaters run and I am suppose to be at the wake for my wife's brother at 2:00pm. I am sure that Bloomfield has done good work before, h*** they get an A rating but on this occasion things couldn't have gone worse for me. I stand by every word I wrote and I hope that your experience with this company is of the A caliber rating that many before me experienced. Wow, doorbells ringing help is here.

Our tech quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the melted thermocouple. He also recommended the gas valve be replaced since the pilot would go out intermittently during testing. Our tech went out to his truck only to find we did not have the valve. When we told the customer how much the valve was he asked us for the part numbers and declined the repair because his heat was now working. The next day his pilot was working intermittently as our tech told him it would, unless the gas valve was replaced. On that day our computers went down and our company was dead in the water with no access to any info from the previous day until 7pm that night. If you ever worked in an office when computers are down nothing can get done. I think I liked it when we wrote things down. However, our office did follow up with him first thing in the morning (during a happy call)only being able to leave a voice mail. We are sorry for the loss in the family which I am sure just made matters worse for the customer. I understood the customers frustration and offered to perform a thorough maintenance on his system at no charge. His boiler was over 10 years old and never had maintenance. The customer purchased the gas valve and hired 2 guys hanging out in front of the supply house for $50.00 to install the part. I am sure if there boss found out they did a side job on his time they would lose their jobs. Our company understands what the customer must have been going through due to the loss in his family. The team from Bloomfield Heating and Cooling continues to be consistent....consistently EXCELLENT. Lori from the office team is excellent when she calls to keep me apprised of a scheduled maintenance visit, always pleasant and always willing to help with any questions that I may have especially with my busy work schedule. Brian Taddeo and Paul Coiro were the excellent technicians who ran though a checklist of items for my two zone furnace and found that my condensate pump had an outflow line that was frozen since it ran to the outside. It could have seized the pump. They quickly apprised me of this and suggested that they could reroute it to a pvc drain in the basement. Brian had done regular maintenance on my generator as well and his knowledge and advice are highly regarded, so I agreed. Having maintenance schedules with BH & C is like having a "Mariano Rivera" in the bullpen....you know the job will be done when asked....consistently.......It is this type of customer service that makes the team from Bloomfield Heating and Cooling consistent.....consistently EXCELLENT!
