Let me start by saying if you are looking for an air conditioning heating contractor you need to look no further than Bloomfield cooling and heating contractors. I just had a 2 ton ductless air conditioning and heating unit installed by Bloomfield cooling and heating. I must say the men are 100% professionals the quality of workmanship top-quality. The men arrived on the job on time and worked continuously taking no lunch or breaks. The owner Michael D Joseph is extremely knowledgeable and the ultimate professional. I can say this because I to am a licensed electrical contractor with over 50 years in business I know a pro when I see one. If you are looking to have this type of work done save your self some time and just hire Mike you will not be disappointed. Remember the pain of low-quality far outlast the joy of the low price. This was my first major project following the purchase of a century-old townhouse. The former owners used steam radiators and at least five window air conditioners for heating and cooling, respectively. I decided to keep the steam heat, but add air ducts throughout the house and a new central air conditioning system. I placed bids with three different companies. Due to the nature of the house (space is stacked vertically), two of the companies specified that two separate systems would be needed, as one large system would be extremely difficult to balance for a uniform temperature and humidity throughout the house. I chose to go with Bloomfield based in part on the owner, who performed the initial analysis. He didn?t come across as a smooth-talking salesman, but someone who clearly wanted to create a good, finished product. He had a plainspoken confidence about his work, and asked me the most questions about my needs of the three contractors. Work commenced on 15 October 2012. After I provided the foreman with the keys, they let themselves in and locked up after they were done each day. I let them know it was okay to track mud and dust on the hardwood floors, since I?d need to clean them after moving in anyway, but they were still pretty conscientious about neatness. At the end of the project, the office manager explicitly asked me on the phone if they had been wearing their protective booties throughout the project, which seems to be one of their hallmarks. Drop cloths were used from the basement entrance up three floors to the attic. I stopped by every two or three days to check on the progress, and found that the house was mostly swept up after they left each day. The evaporator (the indoor piece) and the duct work were all finished within the time specified. However, I was called by the owner of the company partway through the project to ask me to follow up with the town on a missing survey, which was holding up the final permits. He was not willing to risk a confrontation with the town by installing the condenser (the outdoor component of the system) without that permit. This was perfectly understandable, but I wish this had been addressed much earlier on in the process. I spoke with no fewer than five people within the town offices to find out what was required. In the end, I was able to re-use an old survey from a project in the 1980s that the town still had on file, since there were no material changes to the property in that time. Once that was cleared up, the condenser was installed and hooked up the evaporator. The contractors installed a gutter drainpipe down the side of the house to protect and hide the small pipes. Partway through the project, I decided where I wanted to put the bed in the master bedroom (something I hadn?t considered two months earlier), and decided to change the location of the duct and louver in that room as a result. We found a mutually agreeable location for the new opening, and the old hole was patched up neatly (for an extra charge, since the old hole is where I initially agreed to place it). Another modification was the addition of a small return air duct in a closet that I chose to make a data closet (computer networking hardware). The foreman agreed to add it for no charge, as the original spec called for an air duct in the downstairs bathroom, and it would have taken a lot of work to get it down there. That bathroom already has a vent fan to the outside, so I could live without that air duct. (The rest of the rooms on the floor are still fully cooled.) Also had a programmable thermostat installed to replace the first-floor thermostat from the 1970s that controlled the boiler. The foreman originally chose a less programmable model, but I had him install a nicer unit. But I liked his thinking: he chose the less programmable model because it was large enough to cover the space left on the wall by the thermostat, without exposing the two generations of wall paint around it. The only problem I had with the installation, other than how the permits were handled by the town, was in the electric hookups in the attic used to add a light and an electrical socket near the evaporator (to make future servicing of the unit much easier). During a subsequent visit by an electrician to clean up unrelated small items around the house, that electrician commented on the quality of a connection that Bloomfield?s electrician made with a junction box. I will chalk this up to a professional difference of opinion, as the town electrical inspector did not comment on it when he approved it. The finished product was neatly installed and paid attention to the quirks in the building style and design. I can?t fully test the functionality of the system (late October isn?t known for warm outdoor temperatures here), but I?m looking forward to that in another two or three months. The installation was done in a timely manner, was neat and attractive, and the workers seemed to have the neatness of the finished work in mind throughout the project?s execution. The price wasn?t the absolute best (price shown does not include $209 in permits), but the workmanship suggests that it?s worth it. If I decide to add another system for the basement level in a year or two, I will go to Bloomfield first.

The service turned out very well. They are very prompt and user friendly. When I decided to buy the generator they did a lot of the work for me. They filled out the paperwork and helped secure a loan for the unit. The day I ordered the generator was the last day of the deal they were running and he made sure I got the deal.

A very positive experience. They are professionals and they know what they are doing. I can't stress enough that it is not an easy job hooking a nat gas generator in a house. A lot of things can go wrong. They were on top of everything. From the outside connection to the inside making sure that all the outlets worked after installation.

Good estimate process. Willing to work on price. Dates were quick considering it was the summer time. Job went a day over but all in workers were polite and efficient.

My heating unit needed service, I singed on to Angies list and refered to the ratings, this company had a A rating, good enough for me. Tech was accurate in his assessment, I had to replace the mother board. Problem solved...

Due to the complexity of the boiler, I couldn't do it myself. Brian from Bloomfield Cooling & Heating came out and the next day and got it working again. He explained the situation for me and explained how to ignite the pilot should it go out again. I will definitely use Bloomfield Cooling & Heating for all my heating needs in the future.

The service tech arrived in the scheduled window of time. He put on booties upon entering my home, was very pleasant and professional. Performed the required checks and routine maintenance on the system.Took time to tell me how the system worked (I recently moved in). Cleaned up thoroughly and left the place as he found it. In addition he answered several questions I had. I also asked him how to change the filter and he showed me step by step how to do it. He was very patient and thorough. I have used this company in the past at a former home and was also very satisfied then and would highly recommend them. They do a great job and are very pleasant and accommodating whenever I have called them.

The technician arrived as scheduled to diagnose the problem with my central air unit. He found the fan motor module needed to be replaced. They were able to obtain the replacement and make the repairs the same day. The technician that came to our home as well as the office staff we dealt with were polite and professional. We are very pleased with the work they did for us and look forward to working with them in the future.

They took care of everything, they showed up on time, they paid meticulous attention to detail, they were never in the way, and left the carpet clean. My central air unit was causing a leak into my bathroom and I called the company in to examine the reason for the leak. The technician did a full inspection and told me that the leak is most likely coming from a rusted coil and a hole in the drip pan. I had the technician come back to provide me with a estimate of a new unit. The company hand delivered the estimate and after reaching out to other companies I contracted with Bloomfield heating and cooling to do the work. I had other technicians examine the central unit in the past and either there was follow-up, no responsiveness, or the cost was not reasonable. The office staff was extremely professional and courteous and the technicians were timely, professional and courteous. One area for improvement is that there wasn't immediate follow-up after the technician provided an estimate of the cost of a new unit. I followed up since I had not heard back from them after two weeks. Other than this, there process went incredibly smoothly, One of my neighbors is now using the same company and told me that the costs are much more reasonable then othet companies that she received estimates from.
