The maintenance/service man was very friendly when working on my steam boiler. There was a minor issue with the water gauge being clogged and thus water was not receding when it should. He fixed it and provided maintenance to the rest of the steam boiler. Took about an hour and a half or so. Very professional and courteous. I will be using them again for maintenance on my Central AC units and perhaps to install a new ductless AC unit next year in the spring. Thanks!

The job went well. There was a minor technical glitch when work was first done, If I understand correctly, but the company returned and fixed this promptly. The thing that I remember most is that the company was courteous and took the time and energy to be empathetic and listen to my concerns and questions. Also, they were able to schedule and re-schedule promptly, and showed up on time.

They did not accept the Angie's List coupon they said it was only for certain things. That was disappointing to me. The furnace did work after he left, but I will not use them again. He couldn't tell me exactly what he fixed on the unit.

It went very well. I called after my original company never got back to me. So I went on Angie's list to find a new company. I have to say all the women I spoke to at the company were soooo nice. Brian was the man who came to service my ac. He was really very nice, very courteous. I had an appointment between 1-5 he arrived at 1:00. He went right to work cleaning the compressor and also let me know that the wires outside should be replaced. He came in with booties covering his shoes so he wouldn't dirty the floor. I mention this because no one else does. He did all the work down the basement and cleaned up thoroughly after he was done. The next day one of the woman from the company called to see if everything went well. She also told me that Brian noted the wire replacement and said when I was ready they would come and replace them. I also want to make note of the fact that their price for spring cleaning was better than I paid from my other company. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Cannot say enough about them. When we were getting estimates, they were the only contractor who actually took the time to measure each room to assure that we would be getting the correct size unit (this was a replacement; our unit died). The owner was thorough when he gathered the information for our estimate. He explained everything that was offered. The estimate packet that was hand delivered to us was complete and easy to understand. When I brought the paperwork to the office, the office staff was so pleasant and delightful to work with. As for the two young men who did the actual installation, they were extremely polite, professional and fastidious! It was a very long, hot day for them; they were pleasant and polite from start to finish! We were teasing them about the foot covers that they were using, even telling them that they were not necessary. They politely declined and kept them on! Two terrific young men. The electricians that came later in the day were also polite, professional, and courteous. I would recommend Bloomfield Heating & Air Conditioning without hesitation. We know that our heating system is next to be replaced and will most definitely return to them.

I can't say ENOUGH positive things about Bloomfield Heating and Cooling. We had some major challenges to work with in our house as the plaster has asbestos in it. Therefore, they had to come out several times to mark where the duct holes would go and then my asbestos contractor had to execute the work. They were professional and worked closely with my asbestos contractor and ultimately got the job done in under 2 weeks. Other positives: 1. All their workers, Tai, Miguel, Anthony, Rueben , introduced themselves upon entering the house. They were polite and pleasant to have in the house. 2. They were clean and tidy. They wore blue booties before they put down drop cloths. 3. Jim, the manager, came around often to inspect the work and to talk to me about what needed to be done. 4. They didn't break anything! and we had piles of possessions shoved in corners to get out of their way. 5. They try to hide and minimize all the duct work - placing ducts at the back or corner of a closet, hiding duct work in the basement ceiling etc. They are not a 'chop shop'. They really try to hide as much of the duct work as possible. 6. Kathy, who works in the office, was efficient and always got back to me in a timely manner thru email and phone. This is a company that cares about doing good work. 7. They include patching the holes they make in their bid. A huge plus. When Mike the owner heard we had asbestos, I sensed he wanted to walk away from a major headache, but he didn't. I really appreciate that he worked with us to get the holes cut with our asbestos abatement team. I interviewed 2 other AC companies and Bloomfield H & C was competitive and offered us free financing thru Wells Fargo. (That was a special they had on in in the spring of 2013). Again, I think they are a true blue company that stands by their word and executes the work in as unobtrusive a manner as possible. A++++

Our central air conditioning was having trouble keeping up with the 98 degree weather so we called Bloomfield Cooling and Heating. They were able to fit us in quickly and the technician was very professional and knowledgable. The service was thorough and very reasonably priced. We bought the house a little over a year ago and we didn't realize until it was serviced that the A/C is 23 years old. I will happily call Bloomfield again the next time I need service.

A day after this call I rec'd an email reply to my original online contact request saying they did NOT service my area and giving me the name of another company. While I appreciated that they took the time to offer a referral, I would have been much happier to have been told the truth in the first place and not given the run around.

I would definitely refer them to somebody else. They're very professional and courteous. They got the job done in the week.

They were very punctual and pleasant on the phone. My wife said they were competent and got the job done.

Asked for specifics to be put in estimate as it needed to be approved by our Association and asked if we could get it ASAP. Had to call them over a week later to finally get it emailed and it did not include any of the specifics I asked for. Called the office and explained the problem (the office personnel were extremely helpful) and a more detailed estimate was emailed out. I also asked if the representative who gave the estimate would call as we had some questions. Never heard from him and a few days later I called again requesting a call from him. Got an apology and was told he was busy covering someone who was out but that he would call me. A couple of days later he left a voice mail saying he would get back to us. Never heard from him or anyone else after that.

The work was performed well. Units work fine and thermostat works. Absolutely outrageous that they charged $371 to replace the themostat. The thermostat was a $35 retail part, charged over $330 to install the thermostat, which required disconnecting two wires and reconnecting. When questioned about the pricing was advised that they work out of the "book". Asked for secondary book price since he was already on site doing maintenance and was told that it did not qualify for a secondary price because tech was not making a "repair" when he found the issue with the thermostat. They could be the best HVAC company in the state but their pricing is completely out of line with the actual worked involved for a project. If expecting a fair price look for a different company. RESPONSE TO OWNER: The discount I received was an Angie's List special, not some special deal you gave me. I know there are only two wires to swap out because I replaced the thermostat the last time. I don't deny that your technician gave me a price quote before he started work but he also said I was getting an upgraded thermostat, and the one installed was not an upgrade from my existing. The bad review is because I know the book has multiple prices and you could have tried to work with a new customer so that you get repeat business. If you were really concerned about this you would have returned my call after you came back from vacation to discuss.

I was told the technician would arrive between 3 and 6 and he showed up a little before 4, which is a great surprise because usually that would mean closer to 6 or after. The maintenance cost $90 but apparently we were a little low on refrigerant and it cost $165 for 2 pounds. Also, our contactor was rusted so we need a new one, that would cost us $153. We have PSE&G worry free contract and they will replace our contactor for free but I looked it up and $153 is actually a very good price. The refrigerant price was on par with others but since we use R-22 and that is no longer being offered, the price for that will only keep rising. I was told that our refrigerant being low could be caused by a leak or it wasn't charged correctly before. If the refrigerant is low next year, then we definitely have a leak and that will cost us $600 just to test the leak! Not sure if that price is good or not, can't find too much info on it. I'll definitely be using them for future maintenance.

I was very happy with them. I have used them to service my AC. I do not have any issues with them.

They arrived at 8 am, as they had arranged. A crew of 4 workers accompanied by their leader Mike went to work quickly and efficiently. They took great care to avoid any dirt in the house. When they were finished, the work was neat, complete and well explained. The crew chiel explained all the details and provided all written information and a CD of important facts. I have also been impressed by the friendliness of the office staff.

A technician came and did a complete and thorough tune-up of my central air conditioning system. Re, checked thermostat operation, replaced the dirty air filter, cleaned the condenser coil, checked all electrical connections, flushed out the lines and checked refrigerant pressure. I ended up purchasing an extended year-long service contract from them for my central air conditioner and my furnace. They ended up giving me a discounted price of $51.01 for this first visit because I purchased the annual service contract.

The Bloomfield team that installed the generator could not have been more professional and efficient. They were quite simply, awesome! Jack Lamb was excellent as he greeted me in the morning outlining what was to be done. He had scoped out the needs of my home initially and was spot on in his assessment. His team of Mike, John, and Steve made sure they wore protective boot coverings so as not to trudge any dirt into the house and were friendly and professional. They worked properly and diligently, making sure to keep each other apprised of the progress. We're talking team here. This installation is no small task, let me tell you as it involved natural gas lines, electrical lines, circuit panels, etc. just to name a few. But they showed that they had done this many times before as the installation went without a hitch. John Torres came at the end of the day to check the work and explained the generator to me finishing with a couple of dry runs to test the machine accordingly. Everything was done to code regulations, from paperwork to placement. I am very, very satisfied and have already spoken to Jack about future work to be done at my home. From the initial call from the awesome ladies at the office to the installation team, this experience epitomizes how a top notch service organization should operate. Thank you, all! I have used Bloomfield Cooling, Heating and Electric for many years for AC and furnace maintenance and have always been satisfied.

When our A/C went out in the heat of August, 4 days after purchasing the home, we were kind of desperate to get the A/C fixed. The system was too old, so we went with a new system. Michael made the process simple, including taking care of the permits and providing all the energy tax credit paperwork. The workers were neat, always covering the floor

We had used this company for seasonal service on our furnace and AC unit at our former home & were always pleased with the quality of service so we used them for the autumn checkup when we moved into our new home in October. Everything seemed fine with the service but we weren't overly thrilled with the technicians. No big deal but we decided to try another vendor for our spring checkup. We were extremely upset to discover that the filter that Bloomfield had put into our attic furnace was not the correct one. In fact, it was a cheap one and they charged us $60 for it!! It was replaced with the correct, high-quality filter and this company only charged us $45 for it. We are dismayed at being ripped off in this way. Also, we went through the winter with the wrong filter installed on the furnace that runs where we sleep. And I was almost 5 months pregnant when it was installed so I was breathing in poorly filtered air for the last 4 months of my pregnancy and my son was, as well, during the first 7 weeks of his life! This is not an acceptable business practice! I am only giving them an overall C grade b/c of satisfactory past experiences. We will never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone.
