The repairman was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. He detailed all the work that needed to be done before starting. He went over pricing and gave approximate times for the work to be completed.

A very nice young man who put a lot of time and effort into trying to get my heat on - and succeeded!

After moving to the NJ area from the South, we knew the past few winters were especially harsh in NJ and wanted to install a generator. Bloomfield was extremely professional in their estimate, office follow up and install process. We have been dealing with two other heating companies through our home warranty service and Bloomfield kicks their butt in professionalism and ability. For any future electric needs (and heating and ac once our home warranty expires), Bloomfield will be our first contact and we are happy to recommend them.

Their price is excellent and the professionalism is very good. They came in time and did a good job. The technicians knows what they are doing. They explained everything to me and whenever I asked them for some help, they responded very quickly. I've installed the generator for the first time and there were some issues I couldn't understand, they explained those over the phone. They also explained my questions about the humidifier in a very nice manner.

The repair technician was very knowledgable, did the repair once which took most of a day; then after it was clear that there was still a failure in the solder joint, spent most of his July 4th in my beastly hot attic redoing the repair. The first repair was done at a fair price, then the redo of the repair was at no cost to me. I take the conversations with the technician at face value, that these things do happen, not sign of sloppy original work.Constructive criticism for Bloomfield: the one thing I suggest is, make your customers aware before you undertake any repair that the cost of the refrigerant that may need to be replenished in the system will be in addition to the estimate, and is impossible to estimate up front. I do understand, in hindsight, why this is the case, but it becomes an unpleasant surprise the first time it happens. Can add a lot to the cost of the repair.

I will also be having them install a generator and outdoor lighting.

It didn't take very long to do. They sent out a small crew. I had no problems with them at all.

It took 2 days to complete.The boiler is working fine, 2 weeks after the job was done and they cleaned up well.

They inspected the system and it was a good value for the money, but they tried to pressure me for an annual service contract. I knew my system was fairly new, as I'd just purchased my townhouse, and didn't want to purchase a regular maintenance contract.

Everything went well, and we were pleased with the job that they did. It took about two days to complete (4 hours each day). They sent out about 5 techs to install the A/C unit.

Brian from Bloomfield arrived promptly and was courteous and professional, including putting new booties over his boots as he walked through my home. What was going to be an $89 routine inspection of my furnace and humidifier - however - became an emergency repair. So a blessing in disguise even though it was an expensive repair. Because it was an emergency, I do not have a frame of reference to know if the price is in keeping with what other service providers would charge. When we walked into the finished basement - we saw that half of the basement was covered in water. Brian was very calm and quiet (as opposed to me) and I immediately thought there had been a sump pump failure. However, my sump pump was working fine. What had happened was the condensate drain was clogged with what appeared to be mud and clearly my sump pump drain is not placed where water coming from elsewhere would slope into it. Meanwhile -- Brian quietly got his wet vac working while I tried mopping up water to move it from his work area into the sump pump. All the time, Brian just quietly continued working exploring what were the problems and correcting them - explaining to me what he found. ServePro via Steve McCauley from Northwest Bergen came within the hour to access the damage and had his workers at my house within a half hour to begin clean up. (That will be another good review.) The Bloomfield cost was $483.64 which included the $89.99 fall maintenance; $313.00 to repair the clogged PVC pipe and fittings; replace the Aprilaire filter $40.00 and the furnace filter at $10.00. He checked the electrical work; thermostat; cleaned the safetts and set up the humidifier properly. This all points to how homeowners when we schedule these maintenance checks we believe the work is done properly and often it is not. Now my insurance company will contact the last person who did the maintenance to discuss the work. Be sure to use insured workers is the moral of the story. But overall I'm very pleased by the work Brian did and especially how calm he was in light of my panic.

It took 2 guys about a day and a half to do this. They were really professional. They handled things really well. They also followed up to make sure that everything went well. They got all the compartments. It was done on time too. I have years warranty and they will be standing behind that. Scheduling was easy and there was no rush. They gave me choices for prices; and I thought their prices were fair. Everything was done exactly how we wanted.

Prior to using this contractor for this job, I engaged him for maintenance of the existing system. As noted in my previous comments, the results were less than stellar. He subsequently made every effort to regain my confidence and when it became time to replace the system, I decided to give him another chance and included him in on the request for proposals. I received proposals from four HVAC firms in the area and awarded the contract to this firm based on the quality of equipment quoted and the price. The installation was in a crawl space on one of the coldest days of the year. The contractor arrived promptly as specified. The installers were professional, clean and courteous. They worked throughout the day and past normal quitting time, in order to assure that my furnace was in working order for the night. They promptly returned the next morning and completed the installation and hookup of the air conditioning unit. I received a follow-up call from Mike, the owner, to assure that everything was completed to my satisfaction. Although we got off to a rocky start with the maintenance call, I 'm completely satisfied with its resolution and the subsequent installation work. I would highly recommend Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric Inc to anyone considering this type of work.

The technician was very pleasant and immediately fixed the problem and showed me how to resolve if this issue happens again. I was so happy with the quality of the service that I will be asking them to come back and provide me a quote on a new heating/ ac unit as mine is quite old.

They came in and gave an estimate but I didn't use their service because I ended up not going through with the service however they were experienced. I ended up changing my mind about the work in general.

My heat in the house was not on and my brother called a different vendor. These vendors wanted me to replace my furnace for $7500 because they said my furnace was emitting carbon monoxide. i was shocked! im a single mother and did not have that amount of money in hand so i said shut the whole thing off and that ill call for a second opinion. also, i was sceptical because these vendors did not even give me an alternate solution such as repairing my furnace. they just concluded right away that i need to replace the whole thing. I signed up at angies list and saw good reviews with Bloomfield cooling. WHen Brian from Bloomfied cooling and heating came, he was on time and even waited a couple of mins for me since i was across the street at the diner with my daughter. Brian was professional and even stayed extra mins to be sure that all heat is fine and that theres no carbon monoxide emitting. Money spent was definitely worth it.

BHC replaced my air conditioner. Easy to work with, professional. quality work. I call them any time I need electrical work.

I asked Bloomfield Heating to tune-up my gas furnace for $90, although another provider was running a special for half the price, since I had used Bloomfield once before. Apart from doing the furnace tune-up, Bloomfield installed a humidifier pad for $40 + taxes, without seeking permission from me or my tenant (who was present at the time of the service). The tenant had changed the pad just 3 months ago and the life of the pad is 1 year - the pad just cost $7 and it takes a minute to install. When I called Bloomfield to reverse the charge because of their mistake, they agreed but with the condition that they would have to uninstall the pad - and they would be unable to install my old pad since they threw it away. Plus someone has to take half a day off to stay home so that Bloomfield can rectify their mistake. I did not agree with that and they did not reverse the charge. Very unresponsive and unprofessional, not using their service again and would not recommend it to anyone. Oct 30 Update: Bloomfield reversed the charge for humidifier pad

I was very pleased with the service. Brian has serviced my furnace and central air conditioning and is very thorough, punctual and professional. The office staff is great also. We will continue to use Bloomfield Cooling"s service.

We wanted to add central ac and a new furnace to our 1890 3-story house with forced air. We received two quotes for the job and both were within a couple hundred dollars of a each other. Both said we'd need two systems. One for downstairs and one for 2/3 floors and new duct work for upstairs. We went with Bloomfield for two reasons. 1) their quote had a little more detail than the other quote so I was able to research the machines they would install. And Michael gave us three quotes "good" "better" " best" and we were able to compare. (We went with best). 2) customer service was excellent. It's a lot of money to spend so I had a lot of questions. I always spoke to same person at office and either had immediate answers or she got back to me quickly. Also Michael inspired a lot of confidence in my wife who's the one who met him for estimate. He gave her a lot of useful information was detailed and easy to talk to. Finally the crew that did installation was courteous, professional and efficient. And going back to customer service when we had a minor glitch in ac after they had finished, they sent a guy over who immediately fixed it. We are very happy with them. If you're thinking of getting ac in time for summer I suggest you book early. Both companies we looked at had 1.5 month delays before they could install. Final thing: If you're a tech nut like me and want a Nest thermometer Bloomfield won't install it. I get the impression they've had customers who have had nest and had negative experience. But I installed two nest thermostats myself (easy) and they're working fine. Bloomfield does offer a couple wi fi thermostats that look good and when you have one therm on 3rd floor and one on 1st it really helps to be able to adjust the temp from your phone or computer.

They are top of the line, and excellent.

The tech arrived on time, calling to make sure we were home. He efficiently cleaned and checked the boiler and answered any questions I had. No attempt to up sell services or sell me something I didn't need. Tech was friendly and polite. I plan to use their services again.

the technician showed up on time and wore booties over his shoes while inside, which is a nice touch. The condo is part of a ten unit building, and each condo has a dual zone heating and cooling system - meaning there are two central AC units on the roof. None of them was numbered, so the first trick was to figure out which units should be inspected. Working together we figured it out, and the technician was very thorough going through all of the units. His primary recommendation was to replace the condenser contactors since, as he explained it, old contactors could fuse together and prevent the unit from turning off. The way Bloomfield handles it, he simply made his recommendation and later on someone from the office called and asked if I wanted to go ahead with replacing them. So there was never any pressure to go ahead with it (this was about $300 of the total bill, the other $200 being the cost of the inspection and filter replacements). I did go ahead with it, and the same technician came back a couple of weeks later to do the work. He showed me how the contactors were pitted and really did need replacing, which again was a nice touch. The other thing I like about this company is that the office made a follow-up call after each visit to ensure that that I was satisfied with the work. Overall I found Bloomfield Cooling to be an honest company doing excellent work that I will call on again in the future. I recommend them highly.
