My yard had not been touched in over 6 years because I was taking care of my mother. I would mow the grass a few times a year. I joined Angie's List and read some reviews, found Green Star Lawn Care and went with my gut. Luis promptly answered my call and texts. He is one busy man. He contacted me the night before doing the work and showed up on time. He left one man here to do the work....what an amazing job he did!! Now the yard does not look like a jungle anymore. Will definitely call him again for future work. Don't listen to one bad review!

started out good but then got a message saying he couldn't find my house. His gps would not bring him to the correct house. My house number is 12 and his gps was bring him to 16 which is only 2 houses away but he could not find mine.

I spoke with them on a Monday and they seemed very professional. I was told they would be out to my property that week and provide me an estimate. Unfortunately that was the last that I heard from them. They never came to my house. I have since called them every day for the last two weeks. Some days their voicemail was so full they couldn't even accept messages. On the days that I could leave messages they were never returned. Apparently they have enough money that they do not need to take it from anyone else so if you are looking for a new provider look elsewhere.

The owner of Green Star came to my house and we went over what needed to be done. I had made a list of tasks and we discussed which tasks he thought his worker could do in the allotted time of 8 hours. He thought that a few of my tasks could be done. On the day of the service he dropped off a man who didn't speak English and explained to him what tasks I needed done(I think). The man started out by weeding my pachysandra patch. He was using a forked tool to remove the little onion sprouts that plagued the patch. It took him nearly six hours to weed the patch. Now, I don't pretend to be an expert on weeding but six hours seemed a bit long. After he was done he started to dig a hole for a bush I needed planting. I asked him to stop. Since it took him 6 hours to weed and he had very little time left I tried to get him to do some more weeding in the front of the house. He had to call his boss to verify that it was OK for him to do this. He couldn't reach his boss so he started to dig again. I had to stop him again. I then had him spread some mulch under some trees from bags that I had put there while he was weeding. Finally he reached his boss and started to weed the front. He had very little time to weed at this point so he did only a fair job. While I believe that every onion sprout and weed in the pachysandra is probably gone, I won't know till next year so I can't really be sure it was worth the six hours he spent in there. (I had a neighborhood kid do it last year for 50 bucks and it looked good.) I had hoped that some of my other tasks would be completed in the allotted 8 hour span. I had some digging and more mulching that needed to be done. In conclusion, be aware that your task list, honey-do list or whatever list may need to be completed by you.

In spite of how busy they were, Luis made sure that the team was able to do the cleanup and mowing at my house as soon as possible. With all the rain the grass was already growing long. They did an excellent job on the cleanup. Much better than my previous landscaping company. I will be signing a contract with them for ongoing services.

I bought the 8 hour Landscaping package. Owner - Luis met with us to walk over the property in advance so he knows what type of work is needed. Luis was very professional and provided some good tips. He and his crew came on time as promised. Overall, I thought they did a good job and will consider using them for future

These guys do a great job. They are reliable, and the owner (Luis) is a really great guy. He is a striking contrast to the sea of unreliable, unresponsive contractors out there that never pick up their phone, don't show up, etc. The only reason we stopped using Green Star is because we were way out on the edge of the geographical area they service, and their business was growing so fast in their core area of service, that it was really hard for them to do projects on short notice, which is often my need. It was more our location then their responsiveness or ability to start a job quickly. If you're in their area, Green Star is a winner.

We played a little bit of phone tag, but they gave me an estimate without my having to be home and took care of the job as promised. I will be continuing to use them for an every other week program for $40 plus tax.

Louis answered my call promptly. We met to discuss what we were looking for. Louis provided an estimate promptly through email and we comfirmed back through email (which made it really easy). I had already used a chimney service through Angie's List and was delighted so I hoped all would go well. As one can imagine, Louis was already somewhat backed up with business so it took a couple of weeks for him to fit us in to do the clean up. We were so happy we waited. We came home to cleaned beds that had been dressed with a beautiful black mulch. All beds were edged and the whole yard had been weeded. He also cut the lawn. It was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend using Green Star to my friends and family. Louis is very easy to work with, I trust his opinion and will use his services to do a fall clean up of our trees and fixing the grass in our lawn. He cuts our lawn every 2 weeks. I think a long term relationship has bloomed.

Luiz was responsive and honest through out our contract period. My Lawn looked great in Green Star care and I was a relieved person. Recently Luiz came up to me and said that lately due to weather conditions and the distance between him and my property (>20 miles) he has not be able to do the justice to my lawn and its hard for him to business this way; though I'd hate to see him go, for the mutual benefit we decided to part ways. I would not think twice before contracting him again! Comes highly recommended from me. All the best Luiz!

This year I finally got tired of cutting my lawns each week. I recieved recommendations from some friends about other lawn care businesses, but found them to be unresponsive and unreliable. From the first time I contacted Luis, he was incredibly professional and responsive to every inquiry via email or phone. He came out and gave me a very fair estimate for weekly lawn service and edging, as well as for some additional landscape work. Hiring Green Star Lawn Care was one of the best decisions I've made. Every Friday I come home to a beautifully manicured and edged yard, without the sense of dread of knowing I would have to lose a big chunk of time on the weekend dragging out the mower and weed whacker. I could not be happier with the work that Luis and his crew do, and will likely use them for additional landscaping services in the future.

We recently retained Green Star Lawn Care to replace our previous landscaper and have thus far been very pleased. They are punctual and do a very nice job with the lawn, edging and trimming, etc. They have also done a superb job cleaning up after themselves. One of the first things we had done when we hired them was a general spring clean-up. We had a number of trees removed recently and also had a lot of old bushes, etc. removed so the yard was a real mess. Green Star did a terrific job getting the yard and lawn back into shape for the season. Though we have yet to task Green Star with a major landscaping job beyond lawn mowing/spring clean up, we have already seen a noticeable difference with the quality of the work compared to other landscapers we have used in the past. We also feel that the prices Green Star has charged have been fair and reasonable. The owner of the company, Luis, has been very responsive and professional. So far, so good. Looks like we might have a keeper.

They are professional and reasonable. The workers and the quality of their work are both very good. They do a good job and they keep the lawn the way we want it.

Called based on Angie's List review. Received a quick return call followed up by a visit to the house to get the estimate on the work and walk through expectations. Walked through what ideas I had and welcomed the feedback on ways to cut costs as well as improve the look. I had to start with the spring clean up of leaves and branches left over from Sandy...followed by a fresh mow. I Then had the neglected beds weeded and edges were brought back to their proper shape. The time and effort that was put into the work was beyond my expectations. I was informed on how to best maintain the look and improve other areas on my own.

Green Star Lawn Care staff are personable and down-to-earth. They did a really good job on the lawn.

They did very well and their price was very good. They stuck to their price and they did exactly what I asked them to do. They did it in the time frames I gave them. I am planning to give them a call to come out and do some more work but I haven’t got to it as yet. I would probably have them back at some point either this summer or fall. They were quite good and the quality was good too. His responsiveness was quite good and he called me right back in an hour from the time I left a message on his answering machine. They were on time and they came when they said they were going to. The guy was well organized and he had a crew of guys and they distributed the work. They did the work in little more than a day and half. I plan to have them come back.

The owner, Luis Hernandez,returned calls and e-mail's promptly and quickly provided a quote. He and his crew showed up on time and did an excpetional job. On the weekly mowing, it's clear Luis takes pride in his work and makes suggestions that he beleives will be the best fit for the job. I am very satisfied with his level of responsiveness and the quality of the work he and his crew perform.

.I found this service on Angie's List and he was excellent. Very nice fellow who was very professional. He was held up by bad weather and constantly kept in touch with me to update me, which was something I really appreciated. I plan on using him in the future. The thing that impressed me the most was how communicative he was when there was an issue.

Green Star quoted me the lowest price by far and the quality of the work was excellent. Looks like I've found my new contractor for all my future lawn and garden work.
