DOWNES TREE SERVICE

I had preliminary work done by another contractor and I was not totally satisfied. I called Downes to give me an estimate on the second stump. They did an excellent job. They were prompt, clean and thorough. They checked back with me to see if I was satisfied. They were competitively priced. They had all the equipment to do this job plus a job 10 times more difficult. I was very impressed with the whole quality of their service.

Estimate was in line with other ones received.

The truckload was good. My problem was that I inadvertently ordered 2 truckloads and could only use 1. I asked the provider if I could postpone the delivery of the 2nd truck until next spring and he declined. I later made arrangements for the 2nd delivery and the provider was totally amenable to the arrangement.

Downes Tree Service called immediately after I paid for the Angie's List offer. When I had to delay the delivery they accomodated that. The mulch was high quality hardwood. In addition, I had Downes give an estimate on a couple of trees that I needed taken down. The representative (unfortunately, I've misplaced his card) told me that one tree was fine. He was friendly and provided a wealth of information about various concerns that I had. I was very pleased with Downes's service.

Downes Tree Service is top notch. We recently bought a house that had a sick pine in the front yard growing into the power lines and starting to lean. We knew it was one big storm away from taking the power lines down. The backyard had fallen branches in the yard and three maples that had branches leaning towards the roof and in desperate need of trimming. A flowering dogwood tree was also encroaching on our neighbor's property. I called Downes based on the reviews on Angie's list and we were impressed on all points. Tom Youmans came out for the estimate and told us about the trees and shrubs in our front and back yard. Even showed me how to deadhead the rose bushes. We thought the sick pine was the priority but Tom told us the backyard trees were actually more cause for concern due to close proximity to our roof and a branch growing towards the ground. He gave us a reasonable quote for all the tree trimming and removal and scheduled the work two weeks out. Crew showed up promptly and completed all the work within 2 hours and hauled everything away. I got home that day and not a spec of debris in sight. A few days later the stump grinding crew arrived and finished within 25 mins. Our final invoice was exact to the estimate, no surprises there. And one of our neighbors came and thanked us for removing the sick tree! We are very pleased with the work and will use Downes again.

They were extremely fast and thorough. The job was done in about two hours. The total time between my phone call and the completion of the job was about 5 hours. I highly recommend them. Thank you.

The job went very smoothly. The crane truck needed to be "cribbed" due to the severity of the slope. They were able to secure the truck so that the jacks could level it, and the job went off without a hitch. They used plywood to protect the lawn. They were efficient, personable and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending their work.

The mulch was deljvered on time at advertised cost. I did not find the quality of the mulch to be that great. It did start to mold in some areas after a while.

Great. I asked if they could drop off the mulch on July 3 (request made on July 2) the day before a holiday and they accommodated me. the mulch is okay. I did have to pick out some plastic and other trash, but overall it was okay.r

The mulch was promptly and timely delivered as promised after we called to arreange delivery.

The crew came on time early in the morning and got to work right away. They removed 6 large, tall trees from our yard. I was very impressed by how well the team worked together. While a few of them are cutting, the others on the ground are taking away the cut trees AND cleaning up. When Downes left my yard was absolutely clean as if nobody had worked there all day. They were very professional and their price was the most reasonable. I would absolutely refer them and use them again.

Perfectly. They even came back when, on their first attempt to deliver, a car was parked blocking them from delivering to the spot I described, instead of simply putting the load somewhere else. (We wern't home, at the time)

I found them from the offer emailed on Angie's list for a mulch delivery. So I decided to talk to them about a delivery of topsoil also and got a price over the phone. I didn't confirm the order on this call, as they have a minimum delivery of 5 cubic yards and I wanted to consider the amount of soil. Within a half an hour I decided to use them for both mulch & top soil and the mulch was ordered through Angies List. Then a few minutes later while I was setting up the order for the top soil over the phone, my Angie's List order came through their system and I was able to set up both deliveries for the very next day. For me on this delivery, it was not necessary to have a delivery window as I was home all day, but it would have been nice to have a smaller delivery window rather then sometime during normal business hours (8am-4pm). Or at least an advanced call saying they would be there in the next 30minutes. The delivery drivers were great and were able to maneuver into my long narrow driveway to make the delivery quickly. There was a mistake on the invoice I received later for the top soil. The original quoted price was not given, but it only took one simple call to get the price corrected and a credit to be apply to my credit card.

Mulch and topsoil delivered promptly on day requested and located where requested.. Staff was helpful and had no issue with a request to reschedule delivery. Product was very good quality. Topsoil was well-screened (3/8" or 1/2" is seems); no rocks, glass or other debris; fair to good amount of organic matter present

I bought 5 yards of hardwood mulch from an Angie's list special promotion with Downes Landscaping. I called the same day for delivery and was told they could deliver the next day. They came when they said they would, they called me ahead of time to let me know they were coming and dumped the mulch exactly as directed even though I was not home at the time

Downes Tree Service cut down a large maple tree on our front lawn. They came with a bucket to reach the top and a wood chipper to chop up the branches. The tree was down and the place was all cleaned up in a couple of hours. Then a week or so later they came back again to grind up the tree stump. Again they cleaned up the area. Everything went smoothly. We would highly recommend them.

Excellent provider. Courteous and helpful on the phone, delivery was right on time and exactly where I wanted it. Mulch is good quality, clean and nicely processed - no stones or sticks in it like I gotten with other providers. Very pleased with the provider and the deal, will definitely look to use them again.

They were here bright and early, and we would use them again in the future.

Went well... Came quick & mulch was great !!

It went great, by the time I completed the purchase online their office was calling my house to set up a delivery date. I set up a delivery date with a note to call before delivery. The driver called when he was loaded and ready to leave. He dumped the mulch as close to where I needed it as he could.

Easy to set up the appointment, they delivered the mulch in the time period provided. Great service.
