I was pleased with the big deal as it was a good price including delivery. The company was very responsive and scheduled delivery on the date requested.

Delivery was smooth and on time. Product is very good. Good service.

The big problem I had was they delivered it a day before it was scheduled. He said the paperwork showed that date and so I said I could rush home and be there. When I got there I saw the paperwork and showed that the date had been crossed out and the driver said he did not know who did that.

They called me 5 minutes after I purchased a deal on mulch...they were great!

We were very much pleased with the overall experience we ha with Downes Tree Service. The office staff was helpful and the delivery of mulch was done in a timely and professional manner.

I checked with my lawn people and confirmed that this was a good price assuming the mulch was from healthy, non-infested trees. I took that chance and was very pleasantly surprised. The mulch is dark, rich and of very good quality. The only drawback is that I had only a vague idea of what 5 cubic yards looked like so I ordered two coupons. Spoiler alert: 10 cubic yards is a LOT of mulch! In fact, it is a full dump truck load. But I am sure I will use it all eventually. My other reminder would be that mulch is part organic decay so there is a bit of a barnyard smell to it but that diminishes as it is spread and it airs out. I am quite pleased with this purchase and the prompt delivery from Downes Tree Service.

Overall Excellent Service and very professional staff. Amazing work considering the number of trees I had to have removed or Pruned. Watching them do thier work was somewhat hair raising almost like watching a high wire act or ballet combined! Incredibly I had this scheduled a week before Sandy so Timing could not have been better. almost divinely inspired to have these folks come out. I'm sure my house would have been destroyed if I hadn't called these guys. Real Pros would definitely use again.

Very smooth process. Called the office to request an estimate and was given three options. Once selected I was given the individual's name who would be completing the estimate. Estimate was completed as scheduled and service was scheduled for two weeks later. Service was completed with no issues or complaints. Very happy with work that was done, no debris left on property and all interaction with company representatives was very professional. Will use again.

like everyone else around here, we ended up with fallen trees. We Called Downe they came gave us an estimate and advised us we would be on a waiting list as there were trees on roads and peoples homes. They are very professional and came within 2 weeks. This is a followup review since they had been here before during the last storm

Downes had excellent equipment and they came to me with a plan to trim and another, seperate recommendation to feed the trees but I didn't hire them because their price was too high.

ftThe people working in the sales office were friendly and gave me a date for an estimate quickly. Tom, the sales person was very knowledgeable and friendly. He carefully viewed the branches to be cut and inspected my other plantings. He spotted some insects on some of my trees and shrubs and suggested a maintenance plan for next year which was not overly entailed or expensive. He wasn't completely sure of a fungus on one of my trees,but the next day he came back and left a note concerning his findings. I did not wait long for a service date. The crew arrived right on time. Tom reviewed with them what needed top be done . They did a great job and a wonderful clean up. I did have one area of concern. Their work truck was driven over my driveway edging leaving ruts in my lawn in a few spots. When I mentioned this to Downes they said they would come and correct the situation. I was pleasantly surprised when I returned home one day shortly afterwards and found my lawn so nicely repaired with top soil and seed! This is a top notch tree company!

DOWNES's estimate was nearly TWICE what I ultimately paid another contractor for the same job. The other contractor I hired was polite and professional, and did the whole job in 2 1/2 hours for about HALF the price.

I called and requested a quote for removal of one large tree and cutting large limbs off of two others. Scott arrived on time, discussed the job and gave me the quotation on 9/7/12. He told me that they would call to schedule the job within the next two weeks. The following day he called and asked if they could schedule the work the following Monday; to which I was more than happy to agree. The crew arrived very early Monday morning after I received a call from Scott that they were on their way. They confirmed the work I wanted done, set up and started. The work was performed very quickly in a very professional manner. They asked, as they were finishing, if they had trimmed everything I had wanted and then cleaned up the entire area. Just watching them work was almost worth the cost of the job.

We've been in our home for over 4 years. We have no large trees on our property, but there were many overhanging branches from the neighbor's trees, which probably had not been pruned in over 20 years. Since that house is vacant and in foreclosure, we took it upon ourselves to have those bothersome branches trimmed, for our own safety and peace of mind.Mike came to see us on a Saturday morning, arriving exactly on time. He's a Certified Tree Expert who answered all my husband's questions and offered his own recommendations for work that had to be done. His thinking was exactly in line with our own. Based on the rave reviews from Angie's List, we did not contact any other tree service providers. We knew from having work done on other property that Downe's pricing was fair and reasonable. They gladly honored the Angie's list discount and suggested that we wait for an invoice in the mail before paying. That alone shows how much integrity this company has.Within two weeks, we received a call that they would be doing the work for us that day. Matthew, a Certified Tree Expert, and his crew could not have been better! They spent over 3 hours carefully cutting and mulching all the branches which had caused us some level of anxiety in every storm. We now have more sunlight on our front, side, and back lawns, and we anticipate an even greener lawn next season. The men picked up every branch .. They were professional and courteous and clearly well trained in their work.We were so pleased with the work that we told our back neighbor about Downes. They also hired Downes to cut down the same neighbor's trees on their side of the property. They were equally pleased with their pricing and their service. So its thumbs up from TWO households .. Great job!

Downes was very respondsive to my request for a quote, so much so that Tom (estimator) prepared quote on weekend so I could review it quickly. Once I approve the quote we were alomost immediately given a time slot in the work schedule (approx 7:30 AM the following Monday morning. I did receive a call, text and email that time would have to be adjusted to late morning. Downes is obviously a company who prides itself on communicating with the customer if changes occur in the schedule. Work was preformed to our satisfaction. Only slight negative, was that crew left two (2) small evergreen branches on side of driveway. Since town was picking up vegetation (grass clipping, branches etc), the next morning I put the two (2) branches on the curb and town picked them up. I thoought overall a great job and the price was more than fair.

I contacted Downes and 3 other Tree Service companies to bid on the work. Got various advice from each of them. One recommended that I should have one of the Red Maples removed completely and another suggested "topping" it. Excluding the verbal price I got to remove the one Red Maple tree, (this service never delivered a written quote), Downes price was pretty much right in the middle with their pricing when compared to the rest. I know that the trees are near their end of life, but I wanted to preserve them, while making sure the deadwood was removed to prevent injury to a person walking underneath or damage to parked or passing vehicles. Downes worked with me to achieve that goal and their representative seemed the most knowledgeable. They arrived about a week or so after I gave them the go ahead and the crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves. They were careful not to damage the flowers and landscaping under the trees as well. As promised, when I received my bill, they provided the discount they promised verbally at the time of quote if I did all of the work with them. They have a good reputation in town and now I see why. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to others needing tree work.

They did a lot of work, and the price was reasonble. They came when they were suppose to. They came earlier and called my cell phone to let me know. They did what they had to do.

I engaged this company because of the consistently excellent reviews that they received on Angie's list. I learned that they deserve such excellent reviews.

No surprises-everything was explained and I would use this company again
