Jimmy's Garage Door Service

An electrical problem with the wiring of one garage door was fixed and the pulley mechanism was identified as cutting into one of the runners (I had not noticed this but it was responsible for the squealing noise coming from that door. Also he replace a burnt out light socket (one of two in the ceiling unit). For another garage door, the winding mechanism had started to shear off metal fragments and could have failed at any time. This was replaced. Another door had no problems. All doors were lubricated and balanced . Jimmy allowed me to watch all his efforts with the doors and I could see the problems that existed. When I made the appointment I was initially told that it would be over a week, but I said that I was having some work done in the basement and need the door to be fixed before then, so the appointment was brought forward to a Saturday.The call out charge was waived as an Angie's list member.I would very highly recommend Jimmy and would use him again without hesitation. He was very professional about the whole thing.

He was terrific! I called on a Saturday and he arrived within a few hours the same day to repair my garage door. He replaced two pulleys that broke off. Very professional and explained what needed to be done. What I appreciated most is that he was honest...although I will eventually need to replace the door, he was not aggressive or pushy. Will call again on him.

On one garage door the track had broken off the support;. Both doors did not open every time. Jimmy fixed both problems, explaining what he was doing and why at each step. It's been over a month since the service was done, and I have had no problems with the doors opening. I would recommend this company to anyone needing prompt, reasonable, and professional garage door service.

I called his office and he arrived within two hours of my call. Jimmy was on time, pleasant, honest, and reasonable. He went above and beyond what I asked him to do by checking to make sure my other garage door was okay. He then made a small adjustment to that door and did not nickle and dime me. I would definitely recommend him!!

My garage door would open and then close half way. The problem was intermittent and very annoying. Most of the time I'd have to close it manually. It was also noisy and closed with a heavy 'clunking' sound. Jimmey arrived right on time. He was the perfect gentleman. Pleasant, professional and a good sense of humor. First thing he did was to listen and watch like the garage door repair man version of the 'horse whisperer.' The he went ahead and made adjustments to this Sears unit (25 years old). Within a half hour it was opening and closing properly and quiet as a mouse. Jimmey honored his Angie's list coupon, waiving the $85 service call fee and charged me a labor charge of $65. I think he's terrific and would recommend his service to anyone.

Fantastic find, fantastic service. THANK YOU!!! Jimmy's made a prompt appointment, their phone staff was so courteous and considerate. Jimmy's showed up as promised, on time and completed a fantastic repair all for about $130!! What I found most amazing, is that they fixed a problem that a prior vendor said they could not address at all. Before we called Jimmy's we called Precision Garage Doors who we had used for over 10 years (see my other report there). We decided we were getting ripped off by Precision. They told us our door hardware was in need of complete replacement to the tune of a (talked down to) $1100. We said, forget that, let's hit Angie's list and found Jimmy's. Thank you Jimmy's for wonderful, fair and honest service.

Jimmy himself did it and he was fantastic. I was very happy with him. This is the first time I used Angies List. He came out immediately, like that day at 5.30 PM. He did more than what I was expecting. He was excellent.

We really enjoyed our experience with Jimmy. He was very friendly, on time and so meticulous with his work. He spent the entire day, from 9-6pm installing our doors to make sure they were perfectly put together. He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. His prices were also very reasonable. He worked diligently to get the job done to perfection. He takes great pride in his work and is more than willing to help/repair existing equipment (even if he didn't install it, which he did with us) and any other needs you have.We also received a thank you note from him just a week or so after we worked with him which was such a cute and pleasant surprised. Jimmy was incredibly knowledgeable. He instantly was able to troubleshoot every problem we had. Additionally, he encouraged us to watch him as he worked so that he could explain everything and answer any questions. He told us what to look for so we know when parts need to be replaced. And he showed us how to perform routine maintenance. He was incredibly professional and his rates were more than reasonable. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone and will call him again!

Jimmy's returned my call within the hour and scheduled an appointment for same-day service. The service-man was easy going and friendly. He replaced two springs and two wheels for the garage door. He also replaced the rubber gasket on the bottom of the door, and attached two door handles. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. The only reservation I have is the price of the rubber gasket replacement: $80.00. The price of all the other repair work was fair. Overall, the garage door is opening and closing as it should. I would recommend Jimmy for your garage door needs. Good Job.

Was unable to activate my new car's HomeLink service. The auto salesman came over and was also unable to do it. Jimmy arrived and within 5 minutes the procedure was complete. He also did a check of the garage door motors and cables and did some fine tuning. Very professional and likable; very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him and I will definitely use him in the future when I have any issues with the doors.

They came to the appointment. They told me that what was wrong with my garage doors was not included in the Big Deal. They wanted $500 more to tune up the garage doors. I caved and gave in to them. The job was fine; the garage doors run really nicely now. He only worked for maybe 40 minutes to an hour and I know there were cables and springs, but the cost seemed really high. I felt like he was taking advantage of me.

It could not have been smoother. I really understand what needed to be replaced, and saw him fit the new parts into place.

Jimmy obviously knows garage doors....I ran into our garage door as it only went half way up and the top of my car caught it. I thought it would be hundreds to repair and take a good amount of time but Jimmy repaired the panels and had it back on track in about an hour. He's great!

I had a few companies come to give me an estimate. And I was the most comfortable with Jimmy. My garage is very old and hasn't been updated since the 50's/60's. This was a tough job, and I knew right away that Jimmy had the experience and know how to get the job done well. I am very happy with the outcome as is my husband. Jimmy was meticulous and very neat. He is a nice man that will listen to your concerns and assure you that the job will get done on time and correctly. He cares about his work and relations, this is obvious as a job well done!

An hour after I made my first call to Jimmy's Garage Door Service and spoke with the manager, Sharon, Jimmy Patrick was at my house to discuss what I wanted to get done. Unlike contractors that I have hired in the past, Jimmy heard me out completely and was open to suggestions. When we settled on the work, he broke down all the charges itemwise and that is what I liked very much. He even called his vendors to ensure that the materials were in stock/available by a certain date before we settled on the work date in the following week. He would have done the work even sooner but I had some days that posed a conflict. Besides, I wanted to be there to get as much information on the items he was installing, especially since these items (garage doors) would be operational multiple times a day. Jimmy came bright and early on the scheduled day and got to work. Just looking at the amount of work involved in replacing two doors with their retracting units and the electronics, I wondered how he could get it all done in one day! He was so thorough in his work and had a very friendly demeanor throughout the process. When he took a small break, I would ask him how these materials had changed over the years and his experiences in the field. Jimmy impressed me with his know-how and his people skills. What impressed me as he neared the completion of the installation was his need to give the customer the best possible service. As tired as he might have been, he went over every detail to ensure that the doors opened and closed as expected. He made me try out the various combinations as well as the keypad-based entry and wanted to make sure I was absolutely satisfied. I give Jimmy an A+ for his commitment to give the customer the best possible service he had promised. It is three months since he installed our garage doors and they work like a charm! I will recommend Jimmy's Garage Door Service to anyone who needs a similar service done.
