Jimmy's Garage Door Service

Did a great job explaining the work that needed to be done and why. Throughly checked our garage door. Spotted several problems and repaired them. Our garage door has never worked as well as it does now since Jimmy came out and repaired it.

Jimmy is a charming guy who clearly knows his business. We had to negotiate the contract a little to have it conform with what he had promised us, but ultimately we agreed. Jimmy arrived today pretty close to on time. The installation was fine although he was a little stressed because he had a job after ours. Then came the fly in the ointment. Jimmy said he would cut up the old door so we could dispose of it. We told him that we assume that he would remove it because we have no way to get rid of it since construction debris is forbidden in our town. He refused at first recommending that we bribe our local sanitation hauler to remove it. Yup, he told us to bribe someone to do what he should do himself. Our town sanitation service is a municipal service not an outside contractor and while bribing people is not the way we live our lives, we certainly wouldn't bribe a local employee. It's immoral and illegal. After some time arguing, he finally took the stuff, remember he was now late for that job after ours. So while the work was good, the service was highly unprofessional.

Received an estimate from a referral, which I found to be completely unreasonable. For that much money I would look into buying new doors. Decided to give Jimmy's a call Friday afternoon, they came out Saturday morning (promptly) for an estimate, which turned out to be about 1/2 the price the other company was charging. I had them start right away. These guys are professional, pleasant and I will be going back to them when I eventually change the doors.

The man is a perfectionist. Replaced some wheels, lubricated the tracks.

It went according to plan and very well done.

It was a pleasant experience with Jimmy. I know he was running late for his schedule but I also know that he only squeezed us in on his schedule. The good thing is that he and wife Sharon keep us updated as to where they are that day. We are not waiting for nothing. He even performed extra service at no cost to me. He explained what is happening with my garage too.

I call the day before the 4th of July weekend. I would like to have my garage fix that Friday since I have some visitor coming. I know they are fully book that day but Sharon told me they will do their best to accommodate us. He did not only fix the problem but also fixed some of the bad rollers making my door operation smoother. WHAT a Guy, Jimmy!!

He was professional quick and tidy.

Jimmy completely solved the problem. He also explained to us how to trouble shoot if it happens again. Fixed the door electronic wall device. ALL IN ALL, JIMMY was excellent, Kind Courteous and knowledgably about Garage Doors. I will feel comfortable referring him to another.

Excellent! Jimmy's Garage Door Service team was professional all the way; from providing a written quotation up to the actual installation of the new doors. Jimmy handled all the details, all we had to was select the type of door we wanted. We moved away from our wooden doors to long lasting, little-no maintenance insulated steel doors. When coordinating an effort that affects 6 property owners, it was very re-assuring that Jimmy committed to a fixed start and end dates. His office staff were very professional and worked with all the challenges of finding a time slot when all property owners would be available. The project started and finished on time (he stayed with our project with no interruptions). The new doors look great, a wonderful face-lift to the condo structure. Jimmy required no supervision, he went from unit to unit himself and worked with each property owner. Very happy with overall effort and the results look great.

Overall good. Jimmy is very capable but seems to be a bit impatient. Especially when I am getting to questions like the spring length, and/or billing, pricing, warranties as well as Angie's list warranties. :-)

The service went really well. I was happy with the service. They came out within or so after I purchased the Big Deal. They are very good.

Jimmy came on time. He was friendly and efficient. The sensor was bent and blocked somewhat. He looked over all the moving parts. The door was shaking, so he WD 40'd it up, so it would run without shimmying. He was here for 15 minutes. He honored my Angies List service coupon. I would highly recommend him. I would use him again.

I have two garage doors which need replacement. I found several vendors on Angie's List who looked like they could do the job and I began to call each of them to have them come to my home and tell me what the job would entail and then give me an estimate. From the Angie's List reviews, Jimmy's looked like a good choice, so I called twice over a 3 day period. On the 4th day someone finally called me back (no apology for not responding more promptly) and I made an appointment for Monday, later in the day. I was told that the men would be on a job and if they could not make the visit or would be late, I would get a phone call. No one showed up and no head's-up call was received. I called the office to let them know they missed the appointment. Once again, there was no apology. I made another appointment for Wednesday, and once again no one showed up and no one called. There are plenty of other reputable door garage installers who know how to make an appointment and show up on time. I'm sorry I wasted my time.

I called early in the morning and asked if Jimmy could come out and check my garage door opener which wasn't working anymore. He arrived right on time and gave me two options, replace a part on a 17 year old machine or replace the unit altogether. He suggested a make/model for me to purchase at Home Depot and said he would be back to install it later that afternoon. I called after I picked up the materials and he was back at my house withing 30 minutes to do the installation. He did the installation in about an hour. He was prompt, professional and courteous.

Jimmy was a gentleman with so much knowledge and a passion for what he does. Explained what and why he was doing. Offered up recommended procedures to keep my garge door and opener that I could do myself to maintain and keep it in tip top shape for the long term.

Sharon was very responsive to my initial call. She worked with me to find a time/date that fit my schedule on a Sat. Get a call from Sharon on Sat morning saying that an emergency job came up and they had to reschedule my estimate to Monday evening. She was apologetic. No problem. Monday comes and Sharon calls again saying that their truck was damaged and they were unable to get out to me. She was again apologetic. Strike two. I suggested that someone come by the house the next day to inspect the motor and measure for a new door (since the motor was broken, the door was easily opened from the outside). Tuesday comes and goes, no word from them. Sharon was pleasant and responsive, hence the 'D' instead of an 'F'. However they were unable to deliver on the simplest taks, a free estimate. I obviously can not speak to their work.

Perfectly - they did a great, very clean job.

I tried to call them and I couldn't reach them. After a year, I contacted you and then they reached us. They fixed the roller, but it was low quality so it did not work very well. There was no improvement. I wasted a hundred dollars. It was not great.

Very polite and made a spatial effort to accommodate my schedule.

Staff was pleasant and punctual, and service was overall good.

My 2-car garage door caved in and stopped operating. I called the guy who originally installed the door (installed before I bought the house). This guy could not understand how the panels caved in. He never got back to me with a quote for a replacement. Then I called Jimmy's Garage Door Service. They were very responsive and got right back to me. He came over to the house to look at the door and knew right off the bat why the caved in. He told me it was because there wasn't any support brackets installed on the door. For 2 years the motor was pulling and pushing the door until it finally caved. I likeed Jimmy immediately and I knew I was going to use you him. He got back to me the following day with 2 quotes. One to replace the bent panels and one to replace the entire door with an insulation. I opted for the new door. I said yes and we scheduled the install. He did the job while I was at work. The door is beautiful and expertly installed. I highly recommend Jimmy's Garage Door Service.

He did inspect the system and replaced / changed a wire. He didn't have the rollers for our two door garage system so he had to come back another day to do it. Unfortunately about a month later one of our garage sensors fell off completely. They did come back to fix it and secure it - but I dont like having to pay another 65 dollars for a site visit - in my opinion if they come to inpsect the garage the sensor shouldn't be falling off a month later and they should acknowledge that the inspection wasn't done adequately so i feel like i was overcharged. Right now they came back and I paid an additional 65 for the site visit and another 25 to secure the sensor. If they had secured the sensor on the first visit I would have saved 65 dollars. If the sensor falls off again - I will just view that these people are not that competent but for now they seem fairly responsive so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Jimmy arrived on time, was quick to inspect and provide a reasonable estimate. We agreed to terms and he completed the work promptly. The garage door works really well now, so very pleased.

When Jimmy came out for the estimate, he was punctual, pleasant, and professional. He left me with several brochures, and sent an estimate a few days later. I was surprised to find he could be in and out in 1 day. When the day arrived for installation there was a problem with the door so the worker could only install the motor. He came back a couple days later and installed the door. Unfortunately, he left a couple of pieces off. the door has two large windows and each one has a trim piece. The trim makes it look like it is 4 smaller windows. the worker left the trim in my driveway. Once I called to complain they were very nice and got it fixed next day. The finished product is good but its annoying it took 3 trips to get it right.
