I was getting little or no cold water from the control & I was getting mostly hot water & I was not able to control the temperture of the water which make it too hot when taking a shower. They were able to replaced ceramic disc cartridge seal & now works fine. I used the Angie's List to find for a good plumber in my area. They have done other works for me in the past. They replaced a water pump on our heating system a few months ago. They did a great job. I am also looking into replacing our old water softner which is not working now & planning to have that work done in the spring 2015. I am planning to have them do the work installing a new one for me.

These guys are outstanding. Extremely professional and friendly. Arrived exactly when they said they would. They were very neat and methodical. Couldn't ask for anything to be better. Thank you Matt and Jeff!

Charlie picked up a new 75 gallon gas water heater and a hour later, professionally installed it and removed the old unit. I was so thankful that I didn't have to go several days without hot water and they also took care of the permits. Did a great job and cleaned up as well as putting down cloth runners to protect the hardwood floors. Hoffmann and Sons will be my first call the next time I need plumbing work done!

Very friendly and very reliable. They installed a new kitchen faucet and also connected the drain to my new sink. They actually charged me less than originally quoted which was a nice surprise! They came on time and they were neat and friendly, I would gladly use them again.

I had multiple outside water pipes frozen and broke this past winter. I contacted Hoffman & Sons to repair all the broken pipes due to the positive reviews here on Angie's list and I was not disappointed. The 2 plumbers arrived exactly on the time specified. I showed them all of the broken pipes and they took time to explain exactly how they will going to fix it and provided me the best options to choose how, as they required to cut a hole in my basement wall to get to one of the broken pipes. Gave a price quote before they started working, which seemed a little high, but not unreasonable for the work that needed to get done. The job took a couple hours and when they were done they fully cleaned up, patched up the wall they cut, showed me exactly what they did and gave advice so this doesn't happen in the future. They were both very professional and friendly throughout the visit and not only fixed the broken pipes but reinforced the pipe to my deck and added new valves. Since they did such a great job, afterwards I asked them about providing me an estimate to run a new Gas Line to my Kitchen stove. They were happy to do some measuring and said they will get a quote to me in a few days. Hoping this new job with Hoffman & Sons will work out just as well.

Hoffmann & Sons Plumbing & Heating were great. They came on an emergency call, they were great. They were extremely professional, they are small company, they are responsive and reasonable. They are great team workers, it is a small company, they are in contact with each other, they consult with each other to make sure they have got it right or if they are not sure, they talk to each other. They are just very, very competent. I would use them in the future if needed.

Jeff came out (on time) for the free estimate - he showed his card prior to entering. He inspected the sink, shower and we had him provide a separate quote for future work. He was very professional. One of his staff showed up later that week, on time, to perform the work. He did a great job! After replacing the strainer in the kitchen, he moved onto the shower drain. He then went back to check on the pipe in the kitchen. He didn't like the way it sealed and corrected it. (without having to be asked) They were clean, efficient and polite. We will definitely use them again.

The 2 guys that came over were terrific. I paid a fair price and highly recommend Hoffman & Sons to anyone needing a plumber.

I called for emergency service on a Sunday afternoon. Got a call back very quickly and was fully debriefed on the cost of the emergency service. The repairman showed up within 45 minutes. The job was done quickly, professionally and carefully. I would use Hoffman again.

Jeff Hoffmann came out to do the estimate and even though theirs wasn't the lowest estimate, I felt that this company was the right one to complete this project. As a side note, almost all of the other plumbers charge for an estimate, but Hoffmann and Sons did not. The technician who came to do the work, Matthew, was very personable and knowledgeable. At first, I thought he might be a bit young to know how do these things that I consider complicated, but he really did know how to get the job done right. He got right to work and took out my musty old sink and put in a shining new Franke sink. The old sink was a "double" but the new one is a single and it works better for my purposes. Then he replaced the guts of my toilet so it no longer makes a terrible "strangling" noise all the time. The work was done within two and a half hours, as stated in the estimate. Matthew respected my space and cleaned up everything well, just as it was before the work began. The only slight issue that arose was that the estimate Jeff wrote up factored in two technicians at 2.5 hours and only one came - I asked about an adjustment of the price to reflect that only one technician did the work, but the price remained the same. The reason I chose Hoffmann and Sons was due to all the positive reviews here on Angie's List. As others have mentioned, the technician explained each part of the work and it didn't seem to me as if they were trying to convince me that other, even more expensive work needed to be done. For example,I asked Jeff during the evaluation about work that I might need to do for my well (we have well-water); he asked some questions about it and concluded that the well probably didn't need any work done. I was definitely satisfied with the quality of work that Matthew did on behalf of Hoffmann and Sons Plumbing and have more work to be done in the next few months, so I will probably be contacting Hoffmann and Sons again in the future. Update on 3/19/14: I had a minor issue I needed addressed, so Matthew came back out and resolved it with no trouble. So I'll repeat my endorsement - I encourage you to choose these guys for your next plumbing project. You really can't go wrong with Matthew and Hoffman Plumbing. They are the real deal.

They were absolutely fantastic. It was a young guy who was extremely friendly and professional. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and was fast and clean in his work. The rates seemed reasonable (especially if you combine more than one thing in the visit). I would highly recommend them.

Jeff was punctual and responded to all of my questions promptly. They completed the work on time and helped us all through the inspection process.

I called Hoffman & Sons on Jan 17 when the water trickled out of my newly replaced kitchen faucet. Jeff returned my call promptly (within 1.5 hour) and asked me some basic questions about the issue with my faucet. Instead of giving me a date that he can stop over to give me an estimate, he proceeded to walk me through the basic troubleshooting questions. Within 10 minutes, he figured out the problem (faucet head) and told me that that this is something that I can fix myself by ordering the replacement part but he can still come out if I needed his services. I asked Jeff if this was a normal practice to try to resolve an issue over the phone and he responded by saying that if an issue was something that can easily be fixed/troubleshooted over the phone, he does not want to waste his customer's money. Jeff was very polite and professional and I would definitely use Hoffmann & Sons again. I think I found my regular plumber going forward.

We called on Monday morning with a heating problem. We told the person who answered the phone that we believed we knew what the problem was and sent her a picture of the faulty valve. She told us that their technician would get back to us that day. No one called. We called them again on Tuesday morning to see what time they would be coming and were told that the technician was and quot;researchingand quot; the problem and would get back to us. Since we did not hear anything by the next afternoon, Wednesdy, we called again. We were told that the technician was waiting for information from the manufacturer and that is why he hadn't called. I believe good customer service would have been to call us and keep us apprised of the situation. Luckily, by this time, my husband was able to fix the problem himself. I will not use Schaible Plumbing again.

We called Hoffman & Sons the morning of Jan 3. They responded promptly and came out to check the issue and provide an estimate. We felt the price was very reasonable and asked them to do the work which they did that day. The day was one in which there was a large snowfall in the East and we really did not expect the work to be done today but were very pleased it was. Jeff was very professional and we would definitely use Hoffmann & Sons again.

Arrived as estimated, Mathew was so helpful & informative & left the area nice & clean & his colleague was polite. They didn't waste time & the job was completed in a timely manner. Both are very efficient.

Excellent. Jeff was here within 10 minutes of my call and it was a Saturday. He quickly diagnosed my problem and put me in touch with a Trane repair man who will be fixing the problem.

Absolutely great. The technician was prompt, professional, and very pleasant. He was very knowledgeable and provided me with his opinion on what needed to be done vs. what could be done, ie. What could wait and what was important. I really appreciated his honesty about proposed future costs of oil/gas conversion. We will schedule the work to be done soon. The owner, Jeff Hoffman, was very professional, skilled, and extremely well priced for the work performed. We own a 1936 colonial and have often called upon a plumber to address unplanned and planned plumbing needs and were never really satisfied with cost/quality of the work performed. So we signed on to Angie's List and found a local plumber with great reviews - Hoffman and Sons will be the first phone call for any plumbing needs in the future.

Excellent plumber! Jeff, the owner is responsive and keeps to his appointments. He explained the process of installing a back up sump pump in my basement. He also replaced 2 outdoor faucets with ease. I have been looking for a good plumber for awhile and am so glad I found Jeff. I would definitely use him again. Some people have told me that I paid too much money for the sump pump but I don't think so. I would definitely use him again. He is knowledgeable and calls if he is not going to be there at the time he scheduled. Highly recommended
