+ -1 moreGreat. Prompt, courteous, on time and they did backbreaking work in 90 plus degree heat. It took 2 guys more than 3 hours. Initial price was 900 but Vanessa came down to 750, and after 4 years of trying to get this done I am glad it's taken care of.
Description of Work: Hauled away layers of weed control plastic and landscaping rocks.

She said that within 45 minutes she can get her guys out to my place to give me an estimate and if I agree with the price they would take the garbage right away. I was so surprised she told me that she could get guys over to me so quickly, and sure enough 45 minutes later appears a huge truck with 2 guys. We agreed on price and they got eveything out with 1 hour. The men were pleasant and very professional, and hard working. I will 100% use them again! Vanessa who handled my call was a pleasure to work with, incredibly kind and easy to deal with. Thanks!!
Description of Work: I am purchased a rental property and I am working on restoring it back to it's old glory. The house had old drop ceilings so I needed to throw away all of the ceiling tiles, wood from the ceiling grids, and lots of plaster from the walls among other things removed from the house. It was something I could have never been able to get rid of myself.

+ -1 moreOur street is a dead end and very narrow, so i was nervous about them scratching or bumping into the neighbor's car. However, they did an excellent job dropping it off. It's very easy to throw large bulky items like old kitchen cabinets in there. There's a side latch door that we opened to throw things in there. I called them up when we were done and they picked it up no problem and very professional. Overall, it went very well. They did their job. No complaints.
Description of Work: They dropped off a 15cy (with a 2 ton limit) dumpster bin in my driveway. I called them to pick it up when I was done throwing trash in it. They came and picked it up without any damages or extra charges. very hassle free.

+ -1 moreIt went fine. I would suggest that if the lady dispacher is told that the purchaser is a " newbe" that she tell the "newbe" to separate the metal out and not fill above the dumpster height line. But she was great otherwiseVERY PATIENT. which was essential to me
Description of Work: I thought this was a good co. I didn't rate the price because I didn't cost shop. Last year a contractor I hired used a different dumpster company and I vowed I would never use that blue diamond dumpster company that he had used because they were rude to me the homeowner. So I did not price shop. I am really glad I chose Rick's. They were patient with me as I did not know all the ins and outs of dumpster ordering. And importantly they were on time and friendly and professional. I would and perhaps may need to call them again. I would not hesitate to use them again.

On the morning of the 6th we were told that the size dumpster that we ordered wasn't available, but the next size up was. We received it, and we were still charged for the smaller size. It was delivered on time, and removed later that afternoon. We had plenty of time to complete the job.

Description of Work: Hired Ricks to clean out a 2 story home with 3 bedrooms, full basement, and a garage. They did a great job. A little pricey but there was quite a bit of stuff. I would definitely recommend them to someone or use them again myself.

+ 2 moreThe 2 workers arrived. They razed the garage and loaded the debris in the dumpster they came with. The area was completely clean when they left. No dos and don'ts. Hire them and let them do the job.
Description of Work: I've reviewed Rick's Cleanouts once for this work so this is a duplicate. They tore down a decrepit garage and hauled the debris away. The 2 workers arrived on time when scheduled. The garage was down and all the debris cleaned up in about 6 hours. I was completely satisfied. From my experience if Rick says he can do a job the company can be depended upon to do the work right and efficiently.

Rick runs a solid operation - I've used his company in the past, and will use them in the future.

+ -1 moreUpon our initial contact with Rick's Cleanout over the phone, their staff was helpful, informative and accommodating. The crew they sent out - two men - showed up on time with a well sized truck, which at first we weren't sure would fit all the garbage. But I have to say, the men did an excellent job neatly piling up the garbage, sorting it out by metal, wood, glass and just plain trash and fitting it all in the truck. They worked diligently, professionally and knocked it out in about 4-5 hours. They went over everything with us before they started the work, making sure they knew what was going and what was staying. As the work progressed they asked us anytime they had any questions about any items before packing it in the truck. Items that were not garbage and was staying they moved out of the way while they worked, and once they finished packing all the garbage they replaced the items that were staying, storing them back neatly and organized in the garage (frankly, more organized than I had them) and swept up the garage and backyard, leaving each area neat and clean. Once they were done, we checked everything out; once satisfied the work had been done properly and completely, we gave them a check, shook hands and off they went.
Description of Work: We've been doing some DIY extensive home renovation work and needed to have a LOT of rubbish/garbage removed. I mean A LOT. Literally an entire one-car garage full of garbage, a large room's worth of removed paneling, bathroom fixtures (toilet, sink and cabinets) and 21 "original" window frames and glass that had been replaced; also 12-15 contractor bags piled in the backyard full of ceiling tiles, broken sheet rock and empty paint cans and a nice large pile of wood from storage cabinets we ripped out. We contacted Rick's Cleanouts to get an estimate on renting a dumpster and during our phone conversation we were informed they could also send out a crew with a truck, review the refuse that needed to be removed and quote a price to haul it away. Given the choice of having to do all the removal work ourselves and filling a dumpster, or have some one else do it - and save my iffy back - we went with the latter. We set up a date; Rick's Cleanout crew showed up at the designated time, looked at all the stuff and quoted us $800, which at first I thought was a bit steep. But, we went for it and as I watched how much stuff had to be removed and piled in their truck, the amount of time and effort it took and I had to do nothing more than point my finger to show them what needed to go - I came to the conclusion it was a reasonable deal.

They arrived on time, gave us a quick quote, and then began tearing out our chain link fence (after we gave the go ahead) and picking up a large amount of debris that had accumulated between the fence and the building next door. They were fast and efficient. We will definitely have them back in the spring to help with the clean out of the basement.

+ -1 moreThis was the poorest experience I have ever had with workers in my home. I strongly advise against anyone using this company as they will change the price when they get there and will send workers that are unable to communicate in english. In addition the mess the left was horrible. We were afraid to make a direct complaint for fear of an aggressive attack response. In addition we did request a receipt (again the guys who did the work were unable to leave a document in english) and much to our shock other items suck as several TV's and a big cabinet were added to it - this was an out right LIE but because the workers were unable to communicate in english I had no means of proving that the bill was wrong. If you need a clean out company and you are in North NJ don't use Ricks!
Description of Work: When I called Rick's I was given a price for the removal of a small child's desk, a mini sofa and a large 1960's style TV. The owner Rick quoted me $175.00. When the guys arrived the next day they spoke basically no english and called into the office. They were somewhat rude and I could tell they were arguing in spanish. Then I got a phone call from the owner's wife and she said that because I added extra items the price would be increased to $350.00. I was in shock but it was the day before thanksgiving and did not have time to call someone else. There were NO extra items. One of the guys offered to take a small mini TV (this was a portable hand held TV that was broken) and that was the extent of the additions. My personal garbage man would have taken it for free. I gave Rick's the money and they took the items. They left a large amount od debris as they chose to chop up the sofa (there was no need to do this as it came apart ). Again the worker had NO verbal english communication skills. Four weeks later I am still finding and cleaning up debris.

Several hours later, with four to 6 men working, they hauled away several truck loads of years of basement accumulation, including a pool table and a piano that they had to break apart. They kept to the estimate and left a nice clean swept out basement. I'd use them again.

Not only did they come probably within an hour after my calling, but the two gentlemen who arrived were polite and wonderful to work with. I could not recommend Rick's Cleanout any more highly. You do want to call to get a price estimate before. It was a fair price, but a little unexpected. In hindsight, I think it was well, well worth the price. Thanks again and I look forward to using their services in the future. They made our move a little bit happier.

+ 0 moreAfter checking Angie's list i selected rick's cleanout. i called with a request for an estimate and a possible appointment. After answering some questions i was given a date for the survey of the materials to be hauled away . Rick's crew arrived on time on the day of the survey. after a review of the work to be done, a price was agreed to. Rick's crew went to work right away with speed and enthusiasm. by the end of the day all refuse was put into the dumpster and the areas cleaned up.I paid the bill with a check. and the crew left.
Description of Work: removed and hauled away many items from my basement and back yard. a small dumpster was used to contain the refuse. the dumpster was filled to the brim,and then hauled away. there will be another phase to my cleanup work and i will ask rick's crew to help me with the work at that time.

+ 0 moreCalled Rick's on a Saturday afternoon and left a message. Vanessa returned the call that afternoon--professional and personable. Made an appointment for two men and a truck to come out an give me an estimate. Time frame for arrival was between 1:30 and 2:30 the following Tuesday. They called at 1:10 and said they would be here in 30-40 minutes, and they were. Two men arrived with a moving-type truck, not a dump truck. They took a look at everything I wanted removed, called the office and gave me an estimate which I accepted. The men were polite, professional and friendly and worked for the next 5 hours or so to get the job done with temps in the 90's. The job would have been completed faster, but they had to break and/or cut objects to fit them carefully on the truck, as it was already partially full--all other trucks were being used. They left the garage, basement, and backyard swept and or raked up nicely. Though the job was a little expensive, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Description of Work: Removed LOTS of accumulated junk (including furniture ruined by water damage and mildew) from garage and basement. Dismantled and removed wooden swingset.

+ 0 moreAdmittedly I was a bit skeptical when 2 men showed up with only the roll off container, a sledge hammer, chain saw and a few assorted hand tools (crowbar, rake. shovel. etc.). But the men knew what they were doing. When they were done the job was completed. No need for me to do any cleanup. Just park my car on the old concrete slab. I research everything from contractors to stereos online before I give anybody my money. I hired Rick's because of favorable reviews on Angie's List. So here's another one. There wasn't much info on demolition contractors in Bergen County, N.J. Rick's trucks say they go anywhere (obviously within reason). If you have a job like this or just debris removal, in northern N.J., call Rick's Cleanouts Inc.. Maybe you can find a cheaper price elsewhere. Remember some contractors may require you to bring in a dumpster at additional cost. But if you just want the job done reasonably with no hassles try Rick's Cleanouts Inc.
Description of Work: Rick's Cleanouts Inc. demolished my standing but falling apart 1 car garage. They scheduled arrival for between 10:00 and 10:30 AM on 7/5/2011 and came about 10:20 AM. By 4:30 PM the garage was down and all the debris loaded into their roll off container (dumpster). The price was all inclusive: demolition, removal and tax. The concrete garage floor was not ripped up for this price but I wanted that left for car parking.
