Rick's Cleanouts Inc

This is the second time I used Ricks Cleanouts. They took about 30-45 minutes to remove assorted items - including old CRT TV's and exercise equipment - from my basement. Total Cost $550.

They were supposed to come last Sept 14 but did not come. He already gave me a quote ($300).

Perfect. Used them before and will use them again.

Very well. Needed to remove items to set up room for hospital bed and equipment the following day. Called the office & was very pleased with the professionalism and understanding of the woman taking the information. Two men came the same day to assess and quote price. I asked if they could possibly remove a computer monitor from the attic & they agreed. A reasonable price was quoted & they removed all the items quickly and carefully. Will hire again.

Absolutely loved their services. Office administrator is supper communicative, negotiator, excellent in work and professionalism. I did same job twice by paying $600 each time. Actual worker are funny hard working and they cleaned the place after taking away all debris. So far I have used four services from Angies List and their services is the best.

Two men arrived to assess the job and an estimate was given by the office, via a phone call, to get rid of boxed trash in my basement. The price was $50 higher than the price I had landed on in my mind as the top price for the job. I decided it was worth it to get the job done then and there. The men took everything away and loaded it up and were gone within an hour. They were thorough and careful.

The crew members were excellent; they have hauled stuff from my place twice before, and each time they did a fine job, as they did on this third visit. (By the way, if you hire a crew to move out stuff, be prepared to provide a decent tip. These guys work hard, and they deserve at least $50 a man, which I always provide. I used to work in a warehouse when I was young, and I respect this kind of labor. Don't short change them.) My problem was not with the service. My problem was with the fee: $550. I thought I had a good relationship with this company, having hired them twice before, and I was charged what I considered a reasonable price both previous times. This third time, I had even agreed to push the arrival time from the morning to the afternoon in order to accommodate the company's schedule. Yes, I agreed to the $550, because I felt I had no choice. I have visitors arriving this weekend, and the stuff absolutely had to go. The crew, by the way, do not set the price; it's set by the management office by phone. Apparently, depending on who sets the price at the management office, you're supposed to haggle over it, something new to me. Others may have better luck. The company got $550, and I learned an expensive lesson: Have a Plan B in place, in case the price ain't right. Nevertheless, this company does a good job, the crew are efficient and even congenial. I regret that this experience precludes my doing business with the company again.

It went very well. The two men did an excellent job, especially given the fact that I live on the fourth floor of an apartment building without an elevator. They were highly professional and even congenial. I will certainly do business with them again. The cost of service was quite fair.

It was good, very good. They were very prompt and very good. I thought the price was slightly higher. I think 2 to 3 people came out to do the work. I am not sure exactly. They were quick. It took 15 minutes. They were prompt, returned phones calls, scheduled within 24 hours, they came to the house punctually, and completed the job quickly.

Excellant. No hassles, took all the trash and materials, worked quickly, cleaned up brrom clean.

They did a wonderful job and then they cleaned everything up so it was immaculate when they left. It turned out very well. It was a pretty good price. They came the same day.

The workers showed up promptly, but without a wheel barrow or hand truck, and so they had to carry the pieces of concrete either on their shoulders or together in a heavy plastic garbage can from the rear of my property to their dumpster in my driveway. This was despite the fact that I made it clear to the dispatcher that the debris was chunks of concrete. Also, the initial price was exorbitant and I had to negotiate it down. This was also true the last time I used them.

They didn't send enough men or the right equipment, but the people they did send struggled to do it and in the end did it properly, if not promptly. You will need to bargain on the price. It can come down by as much as 1/3.

I'm pretty sure we used them and they were fantastic. They called to come the next day. We're like, "No. We need a couple of days." Usually, when you call somebody, it's like a week or something, we kind of need to get stuff organized, but they were ready to come the next day.They were very prompt and very professional. They came and they were very reasonable. I kept their number because if I need anything else done, that's where I'm calling. My husband said they were just fantastic. Price is very reasonable. Actually, I think we called them twice. We had to use them another time.

They were fantastic both times. I gave their name to anybody who asked me. They're A on everything.

The crew showed up on time and did the job quickly and professionally.

Smooth as silk. Rick's office manager called back promptly at start of next business day after I called last Sunday evening, arranged for a window at my convenience @ 2pm the following Saturday. She called early on pickup day to ask if her team could swing by early, I declined as I was away. She then called 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, letting me know they were on their way. The two gentlemen arrived exactly on time, quite personable with smiles on their faces in the 100-degree heat. I showed them the items to be removed, asked me what I was looking to pay, left to call their office from the truck. A few minutes later, the office called and gave me the price. Exactly in the range I was looking for after reading various Angie's list reviews on costs from Rick's and other removal services. They removed all the items from upstairs and the basement, being very careful not to hit the door frames, walls, etc. My wife even added a few small items to be hauled away during their trips to the truck, no problem they said, with no add-on costs. Entire process was completed within 20-25 minutes. Truly excellent service with very personable office management and hard-working gents schlepping out the junk. When the time comes, I will use their services again, including far larger items.

Great. I called and got an appt. for an estimate, They then told me I could text a picture of the debris pile. I sent it and got back a quick response. $250.00 was the quote which was a great price, compared to the 300-350 I got from others, They could schedule it for the next day and I met them at my house. They were on time and ready to work. There was a tiny $50.00 hike in the Quote for more realistic quote since Photos aren't 3D. That covered the extra disposal fee. The crew of two got it done in a quick 45 - 55 min. Outstanding job and they left the entire area cleared of any trace of the debris.

My sister and I needed help cleaning out our parents' home. There was some furniture and a LOT of metal and wood, some tools, dishes left. First cleanup service we contacted could not seem to give us a clear price, timeline, or even tell us what they planned to do (one day, it was "hold estate sale to defray costs" next day "everything goes to dumpsters"). I called Rick's to arrange a free estimate. I was asked if I was ready to do the work now. I thought they meant "have you sorted through everything and taken out what you want?" so I answered yes. They called before the appointment to tell me the crew and truck would be there in 45 minutes to start the cleanout. I told them I had only wanted an estimate, and they said they'd understood me to say I wanted it done right away, and that the house was a long drive from their company (it is over an hour away). They asked if the price was agreeable, could they start right away since the truck would already be there. I called my sister before the crew arrived, and we decided on a price we were willing to pay. I showed the 2 man crew around the property and explained what we needed to have removed. They called the office and the office staff called me to settle on a price. The initial estimate was $500 above the price we were looking for. I offered to pay them for the estimate (and added that I'd get an estimate from a competitor the next day). They agreed to the lower price, but did not honor their web coupon and did not adjust the price for any money recovered from selling furniture or recycling metal. There was no written estimate. I paid half of the cost before work began. The two workers were very polite and pleasant. I was moving a pile of rocks to the back yard and they offered to help. I left the site an hour after they began, and the crew texted me when they finished that day, and included a photo of the filled truck. They took the next day (Sunday) off, then returned Mon. with several trucks and more crew to finish the job. The company called to let me know they were en route, and again when they reached the home (which was vacant) to ask if it was OK to start. They worked the entire day while my sister and I were not present. The crew contacted me at 7pm to let me know they'd finished. Later that night, office texted to ask me to text my credit card # or, if I prefer, they'd call next morning (I waited). The next day, Tuesday, I received several calls and texts, asking for payment. I told them I was waiting to hear from my sister, who was going to the house to make sure it was in satisfactory condition. She found a mixed bag- the stuff we'd labeled "KEEP" was there. The back door was unlocked and standing open, several windows (including ground level basement window) was open, some junk was left behind (a heavy machine chest, wire, glass panes, jars, tools, coils of rope, plastic bags, etc.), some windows had drapes, or only one drape, or no drapes, and the garbage bin outside had been filled with stuff from someone else's cleanup. The place was not "broom clean" as we had hoped it would be. Since this is the only experience I have with a cleanup company, I didn't know if this is typical. While I was relieved that so much of the junk WAS taken away, I was disappointed that they left junk behind and failed to lock up on the way out. I also did not like feeling pressured to pay before I had the chance to review the work. UPDATE, Weds. morning: I called Rick's and spoke with Office Manager. I described the condition the house had been left in, she said they should not have left things that way, said she'd report this to the company owner and would have a crew return this afternoon to finish the cleanout. She said they'd make things right. At 1pm, the office called and said the crew should arrive at 2pm. They arrived at 4pm. My sister had waited at the house for them to be sure they knew what needed to be taken and to lock up after they'd finished (around 4:45pm).

The quote I was given for this job and the actual price I paid was 1/3 that of a competitor. When I called to arrange the pick up, they were able to come within a few hours on the same day and kept me informed of their arrival time. Everything went smoothly and I was very happy with the service I received. I would definitely use them again when I need household items hauled away especially since I am a senior citizen and live in a second floor apartment in an old house with a very steep staircase.

It went well. They showed up ready to work, finished up quickly and swept up the area as well. I would recommend them.

I called Rick on a Thursday and got a call the same day to set up an appointment the next day for an estimate. He showed up promptly at 10 the next morning, gave me a price approximately $1000 less than other prices I had gotten and because he had a truck and 2 guys with him, was able to start the job right away. I was amazed at what happened that day-the project I assumed would take at least 2-3 days was virtually completed by the end of the day! The 3 men and 1 truck that started the project blossomed into at least 8 guys(more I think sometimes) and 3 to 4 trucks all day. They worked till dark-around 7:30- and by that time had finished the house and basement and most of the garage, coming back the next day to clean up the garage and driveway. Wow! We were amazed at the efficiency of Rick's crew. These guys are truly professional,courteous,careful and hard,hard working and seem to have the facilities needed to accomplish even the biggest jobs. I would highly recommend Rick's Cleanouts to anyone facing a large-or small-cleanout situation in the North Jersey/NY area.

We called on Friday and they came on Friday within the time frame that was quoted. The Laborers were friendly . They hauled over 1/2 of my back deck of disposable items that we put out. When they finish it was spic and span and even the area right next to the cleanup spot --- they cleaned up. A JOB WELL DONE. This was our second time using them and each time they went beyond what we asked for. I would use them again in a heart beat.

Called these guys for a quote on a Thursday, and they were able to accommodate my request for that Saturday (two days later). Gave me a quote for $1,000 and were able to start immediately, same day. Cleaned out and demolished both sheds, and took care of all the debris. Price was fair, and service was great. They had a 25cu yard truck with them, and called in a 2nd truck. They had to empty and fill 1 truck again, and filled the other, for a total of 3 truck loads. 4 guys x 6.5 hours each. Would definitely recommend.

They had 2 people with a truck and a chainsaw. They removed everything within 6 hours, packed it all into the dumpster on their truck, and cleaned the area before they left so you would never know they were there. Very professional and personable.
