Description of Work: A clogged pipe was found that would have required the breaking of a wall. As we wanted our old bathroom updated, we obtained quotes for the work that was needed for tiles and tub in our bathroom. Dr rooter came in with a competitive price. While the professionalism of the owner could have been better during the initial discussions, his tile-man Vinnie wasvery professional. |I was worried about using what appeared to be a plumbing service to do tile work, but once the initial concerns I had were out of the way, Vinnie and the rest of the workers from Dr. Rooter did an excellent job. Vinnie took the time to do everything right and even assisted with the fitting of a bathroom cabinet that was too large for the space. That he was able to do the carpentry work needed, allowed us to get the cabinet we wanted and did not have to settle for less. A+ on the quality of the work. Beautiful job.

Description of Work: Had a sewage back up due to roots in a pipe which was leaking. Had to dig up a bush and a piece of the pipe. Laid stone and replaced a small portion of the pipe. Took him about an hour and a half. The service was excellent. I just thought it was a bit pricy. I didn't have the opportunity to check for additional quotes and this company was the only company who responded to my call and made a special effort to get there that evening.

Description of Work: I needed a new toilet installed to replace my current one, which I purchased separately. They would not quote a price over phone, but would give be a free estimate when they arrived.When they arrived they quoted a $525 price. I said that was way too high and he left. 10 minutes they knocked on my door and said they would do it for $300.

Description of Work: Came from warm and sunny vacation to a freezing home. Heat wasn't working called 3 or 4 plumbers and nobody was able to come.I called Dr. Rooter ,they said somebody will be there in 2 hours. They came in less than an hour,needed a part the man drove back to get a part and all was fixed. Job well done,maybe a little pricey.

Description of Work: We purchased a new washer and drier and the connection was dripping. He repaired it for us. He had to cut a little piece out of the wall and replaced the piping since it was very old.

Knew we had to take care of this and was hoping we could care for it on the next day instead of having to prolong the problem and take a day off to fix. Had no idea who to call... turned to Angie's List. After several calls, found Dr. Rooter. The woman on the phone was pleasant and had a service person here within a few hours. Kevin was a calm and knowledgable service person. Quickly changed a trap under sink that had decayed and cracked like an eggshell. All cleaned up and back in action. I would not hesitate to call again.

Description of Work: Excellent help with emergency sewer backup in my basement. On a Sunday arrived earlier than scheduled (very welcome). Valon was friendly, knowledgeable, got the sewer line to the street rooted out quickly, and explained my longer term options clearly. No pressure to do more extensive work although I need it. Will call them again.

Description of Work: Description of Work: Our main drain was stopped up. This cause our washing machine and toilets to overflow. Member Comments: The owner /operator came within an hour of our phone call. He was very polite and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained our options and gave us a price quote. He completed the work quickly and cleanly. The price was actually a little lower then the estimate but still seems a tad high for about 45 minutes of work but we definitely got what we paid for. I would recommend him to a friend. It would have cost less if we had an accessible drain clean out in the yard.

Description of Work: To begin, I engaged this firm solely because of its profile on Angie's list. I an new to the area and didn't know of a reputable plumber. I discovered a leak near my basement toilet. I closed the shut off valve to the toilet and dried everything up so that the plumber would have easy access to the area. This is one of 4 toilets in the home, so I was not depending on its immediate functioning. The company set up an appointment and the service tech Valon B. arrived on time. He examined the leak and determined that I would need a new fill valve. He told me that it would cost about $250 for the part and about another $275 to install the part. The problem, he explained, was that this was an old model toilet and he doubted that he could even find the part and even if he could, it might take a month for him to get it.. I explained that I was in no rush. The service person, who was very pleasant, patiently explained that it really wasn't worth while spending all that money on an old toilet. He suggested that he could GIVE me a new white American Standard toilet for a total of $637 and left me a written estimate in this amount. The white color would not match the color of the sink and the bathtub as my current toilet did, but some compromises should be expected. I pointed out that this was a Kohler toilet and the model number was stamped on the porcelain tank, so I thought that this might help in locating the replacement part. He gave no response except that he wanted to give me a new toilet. I took his written estimate and told him that I would have to think things over. I thanked him and he left and said that there would be no charge for the service call. I then got on Google and in less than ten minutes found plumbingsupply.com and had located my model and the replacement part. The existing fill valve cost $45. I dicided to get an upgrade with the delux brass fill valve and brass float rod for $66. The postage was $11 for a total of $77. It was in my mailbox 4 days later. I looked at the diagram and the parts. Although I have no pretensions of being a handyman, I decided to try to install the part myself. This took me about an hour and a half, since I had a struggle getting the old valve off. The toilet has been working for some time now and everything is bone dry. I don't feel that this company deserves the high rating it gets on Angie's list. They are predators trying to take advantage of people in need of their services. They must have known that the part was easily available and that it certainly didn't cost $250. I purchased it retail, not wholesale. They knew that all Kohler products have the model number stamped on the porcelain and was easily identified. I can't believe that they are the tallest of the dwarfs, there has to be more forthright plumbers around.

Description of Work: I had a water hook up to city water which ran 285 ft. to the street. Changed my well water supply to city water. Did all necessary water conversions regarding plumbing. Service, workmanship, and price were beyond excellent. The owner, George was right to the point in getting the job done asap. No wasting time . Obtained permit, did job and scheduled an inspection. Highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: We requested a quote for work that needs to be done on our septic tank - this was the 3rd company to come out and the most professional. The second company came and looked, but never returned and we followed up three times with phone calls...the 1st company quoted by phone without seeing the work. Joe was very prompt and professional. He let us know up front that he was more of a plumber/heater/AC and not a detailed septic company...for this I respect him - he didn't try to just get the job. He recommended someone he has worked with before and we will call them for a detailed quote on the larger job with a perk test. On the area he could do, replacing leech pipe to seepage tanks, his quote was much lower then the first company by half.
