Cavanaugh's Pest Control

This company,Cavanaugh's of Somerville is my favorite customer centered company. We were selling our parents home and after an initial inspection we decided to have the house treated for termites and carpenter ants. This company did an excellent job at a fair price. But what makes this company special are people like Curtis who wrote and rewrote and rewrote again many different reports and certifications that our purchaser's needed. Curtis always did what was asked with a smile. Then on the day of closing we needed a new original termite certification and Dave drove it to the closing! He went 15 miles out of his way so we could close. So Curtis and Dave and the entire staff of Cavanaugh's in Somerville will serve you above and beyond the call of duty.

Not professional during the first contact, so we did not proceed with appointment

Kevin was very professional. He also left a message when he knew he was running late. Explained all in detail. Identified point of entry, set up bait stations. No copper mesh was installed as Angie's deal explained, however. I received an invoice in the mail a month after the service and it said $84.44 for the service plus $5.91 tax for a total of $90.35. I paid $139.00 for this deal that stated the value was $249.00 and feel now that I over paid.

They answered phone quickly and came out within 2 days. They performed a very professional job. My only complaint is they did send out a bill afterwards and I had to clear up that I had paid Angie's List through a special deal. But that was all it took and the account was cleared up. Cavanaugh's is very easy to work with and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for any kind of pest control service.

The young man was very professional. His name was Matt (he is now my regular service guy), he checked area thoroughly and gave me peace of mind as I was very freaked out. When he came to service my home again he was very diligent and professional. I have recommended Cavanaugh to me niece she also was very satisfied.

They were excellent. I have a $400 a year maintenance plan. It is for 4 visits and unlimited callbacks. The gentlemen that came out were cordial and neat. They were differential to the home and people in the home. They were very proper. They gave me some tips on what to keep clean and where the mice could be coming in and how to work on those issues. I didn't compare their prices. I will absolutely continue using them.

The whole process went very well. They were very thorough in their inspection and explained the work they were going to do. They were very responsive to questions and provided prompt service. They discussed signing up for an annual maintenance plan to deal with the rodents they found in addition to the squirrels, but they never pressured us to sign up. One of the more pleasant experiences we've had with a home service provider.

The amount of ants dissipated very soon after treatment but has started to increase again. Getting in touch with the company for follow up treatments has been hit and miss compared to scheduling the first appointment. The initial technician who sprayed the house was very professional. The second technician who came to check the traps was a bit rude.

1) I found soft wood at the bottom of my garage door 2) Person from Cavanaugh came out a week prior to the spraying and did a complete evaluation of my house and garage to determine the cause of the soft wood. Strip of decking adjacent to the house/garage was pulled up to check for termite tunnels. None were found. Spent a couple hours performing a "thorough" inspection with a flashlight. 3) Cause was determined to be carpenter ants 4) Inspector was informed that we had several fur babies and their health and well-being was a major concern of mine. 5) 2-man crew came out on July 2, 2013 and sprayed inside and out for the ants. Our pets were taken next door while the house was sprayed and aired out. 6) They did not repair the damage to the garage since we already had someone lined up to do whatever was needed. All personnel were efficient, extremely courteous, prompt, and professionally friendly. I especially appreciated their consideration of our family's pets.

When I called we were hearing birds inside the vent in the house and there was an odor building. One company told me I had to wait six weeks because the birds were probably babies,but Cavanaugh sent people over two days after I called. Two men came to perform the service. Very knowledgable and professional. Everything done to my satisfaction. Even returned, at no charge, a week or so later when I called to say I was still smelling the animal odor. They took the vent off in the house and sprayed some more disinfectant. Very satisfied. Would use them again.

The field staff was excellent, the office staff was a nightmare. I put in several calls to speak to a service manager and all of my requests were ignored. It took me almost 3 weeks to get someone to contact me back to discuss scheduling the installation of the vent, after the animal was trapped. I am lucky that a different animal didn't wind up going back in through the area with the missing vent.

This involved working from the roof, spraying insecticide powder under every fascia board, and inserting copper mesh in the space to prevent further infestation. The two skilled technicians worked efficiently as a team, were very professional, and the whole house was done in less than 1-1/2 hours. I had hired another company to spray the area 2 years ago and the bees returned. The representative who came first to examine the problem explained the process in detail and how the mesh (which I CANNOT see and I have light siding and white trim) would prevent bees, or any other creatures, from getting between the boards. I felt it was worth the price since further damage by carpenter bees could result in having to replace all the fascia boards which was much more expensive.

I would not use them or recommend them.

Found and blocked potential entry points for rodents. Also strategically placed traps. Very courteous and professional.

I heard rustling behind my oven in my kitchen. I assumed it was either a rat or squirrel or some other kind of critter. It was loud especially in the day. I filled out online forms from some of the bigger companies for pest control. they never responded. I called Cavanaugh and they had someone come out with an hour or so. Immediately their representative identified that it was a bird that came in through an outside vent that was attached to the microwave. He unscrewed the microwave which is attached above the stove (I helped him hold it up). He pulled the microwave a bit and revealed the beak of the bird. He grabbed the bird and let it fly away outside. (It came back the next day!) He also attached a wire mesh (which was an added cost) to the outside vent to prevent further intrusions. The guy was really nice, pleasant, professional and knowledgeable.

Reliable, responsive, professional. Only downside is that they have multiple offices and if you need something that one office location doesn't provide, they tell you to call the other office. It doesn't seem as if their offices communicate with one another.

I use Cavanaugh's Pest Control they are great. They are coming out tomorrow. Their services are approximately yearly $250. They are prompt and responsive.

Provider was contracted to deal with apparent squirrels or raccoons in the ceiling. Couldn't find intrusion points nor correctly identified problem, which ended up being flying squirrels. Nice people, though.

Kevin B came out and set traps and sprayed for the ants he identified. He was courteous and professional. We signed up for a yearly contract and feel very good about the pricing and the service provided.

All the gentlemen that vistd my home were courteous and professional. They did not try to oversell me and was punctual and returned when promised. So far, so good.

i had a squirrel in my attic i called cavanughs pest removal about 2:10 i got a call back at 2:11 and they said they would be over within an hour and he was...daniel came in very polite and professional he checked the attic he checked the roof..we decided to leave a trap in the attic overnight and he said he would come back sunday by noon...he came over and we had a squirrel in the trap ...i would use cavanughs pest control service again...i am very happy with their service and the overall outcome...daniel had no problem looking everywhere to see where the squirrels might be,very professional...

The exterminator was extremely thorough, professional and his attention to detail-- like small holes or cracks around the fireplace-- was quite impressive. The warranty is excellent on the service. I would definitely use them again, if ever needed.

They originally stopped a termite infestation in my garage, but they have also gotten rid of black ants. They are very professional and come on time. They come in, spray, and treat the perimeter of the house along with doors, windows, ect.

This company was prompt, able to come the day I called, and did not try to sell me all kinds of protections and warranties I didn't need- which I find common with exterminator companies. He was able to tell us there was no evidence of a critter up there, and told us to call if we heard noises again and they'd come back to look on the roof. was very satisfied with the service person, the service and the entire experience.

Husband and I were experiencing bed bug bites. We were sent Jason.... very nice and personable. He did twoo treatment s two weeks apart and we have a 6-month guarantee. Very nice job no more bites.
