Very good service. Good value, stayed in touch throughout the process. On time. Completely cleaned up everything. The install date ended up being very, very cold. But they never complained or tried to hurry up the work so they could get out of the weather. Very professional.

We had an absolutely fabulous experience with Universal Windows and Doors. Their estimate was spot on - and remained despite some extra work required on their behalf for the door install. Every single employee (and their were 5) working on our job was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and took extra time to make sure we knew everything that was going on. They worked straight through for hours without stop. Cleanup was amazing - better than before they came! The outside capping looks better than I'd anticipated. I am SO thrilled that I used them, and would use them again in a second. Thanks!

From start to finish everything went so smoothly. Excellent communication, workmanship and follow through are keys to any business and Universal has all three in spades. I'd highly recommend them for any project.

The entire process was seamless and a pleasure. Their representative visited my home at a convenient time for me, where he went thru the products and the ordering process. His prices were very fair and we ordered immediately and received product in a timely fashion. Their office staff kept me in the loop with regards to install dates and times regularly. Installers arrived on time and i was amazed with not only the overall neatness of the new window installation itself, but the overall cleanliness in which they left our home after complete work. Highly recommended and will use again. PS - New windows look great and we can already feel a difference in the home.

Very happy that I chose Universal Windows. Understand that my old windows were barely thermopane, difficult to open and close, and not at all energy efficient. So any new windows would have been a clear improvement. Having said that, the Universal windows seem very high quality with all the modern features and no imperfections noted in any of the seven I had installed. After I contacted Universal, Mindy was very helpful and arranged for Doug to meet with me within one day. Doug, who arrived exactly at the scheduled time, is very knowledgeable and he's not at all a pushy salesman. He evaluated my situation, recommended the right window (and did not try to up-sell me) and quoted me a fair price. Anytime you install replacement windows it's highly likely that some type of molding strip is needed around the interior of the window to cover any slight gaps. Doug advised me to purchase the molding myself which allowed me to apply a stain that matched the existing molding prior to installation (and there was no extra charge for the installer to measure, cut and install the molding strips!) Doug told me it might be 6-8 weeks before the windows could be installed but about 3 weeks later I got the call to set up an installation date. The entire process from ordering to installation was only 4 weeks. I was told the installers would arrive between 8 and 10 am and they arrived promptly at 8 am. The installer, Kelley, and his helper were both true professionals. They did the installation, thoroughly caulked the outside of the windows, installed all the molding strips, cleaned up everything, took away the old windows, and demonstrated all the features and how to use and clean the new windows. I couldn't be happier with the way things went. I would use Universal again without hesitation and will be highly recommending them to anyone I know that's looking for replacement windows.

I'm very happy with the quality of the windows and they look beautiful. They arrived when promised, and installation of every window in my house was completed in only one day. The installers worked together like a well oiled machine, and did the high quality work of experienced craftsmen who take pride in their finished work. I appreciate that they were careful to minimize the impact to me and my cat while I was working from home. They also have a real person, who knows the process, working in the back office to handle scheduling and answer any questions, which is helpful because not all contractors do that.

Universal Windows did a fantastic job with replacing our porch windows and installing new siding and gutters on our house. We are extremely happy with how quickly they the job done and the price was great!!!

Patio door was professionally installed in a couple of hours. The installers took away the old door and insured that the area was cleaned of garbage and debris. After they left, I noticed the door lock was extremely tight and the door was at a slant. I called the next day and they came back in a couple of hours and corrected the problems. I am extremely satisfied with their product and meticulous installation. I will hire them again for future window replacement.

Doug provided me with a date that the job would start and he actually was able to start a couple of days earlier. Work was completed in about a week and a half, as expected. Everything looks good!

Overall, Doug and team did a good job replacing our windows. We have a 90 year old home and wanted to retain much of the original look and Doug was helpful in ensuring that everything came out as expected. Especially one very unique shaped half moon window that we were very happy with how it came out. They came and did everything in one day which we appreciated as we had a new baby due any week. The windows were as described and came out as we were hoping. I think the pricing was good and in line (maybe slightly below) some competitors. My only small gripe is they could have been a little tidier cleaning up some of the debris from the old windows. That said, I have no issue recommending Doug and team to others.

Doug and his crew were punctual and responsive to questions. Replies were always within 24 hrs and usually less. No hidden fees or surprises. Very pleased with the job they did.

We solicited four quotes which ranged from $5,600 to over $10,000. After receiving estimates and further research, I decided on Universal due to lowest price, low-key sales approach and Angie's List reviews. With that said, there was good and there was not so good. The good were pricing, sales approach and punctuality of appointments and installation. However, I would strongly suggest that if this vendor is used, make sure your service requests are completely understood; such as: 1. If you decide not to cap outer window and retain wood frame, insure this is completely understood to avoid damage - this was discussed at length with both sales and installation folks. However, our wooden frames were heavily when storm windows were removed (see pictures). Only solution offered was to cap at a cost of $25-$35 per window. I self corrected. 2. Make it understood you want your home to be "broom clean" upon completion. Due to install, we were finding and cleaning up many shards of broken glass, lots of wood chips, screws and nails as well as construction dust and excess caulking weeks after completion (see picture for example). 3. Insure window frame retention screws are completely installed and flush as well as having screw holes are capped. Of the 11 windows installed, I needed to finish sinking more than 15 screws, purchase and install screw holes caps for 10 windows (20 total). I e-mailed company about one-week after install asking if this was normal but never received a response. 4. Make sure you understand your order before placing. I asked to add grids three days after placing order and was told NO that the order had been placed. 5. Bottom line, windows seem fine - time will determine product quality and function; sales (Doug) and install folks (Rick and family) were nice - but I would expect nice from folks we hired. Despite concerns we paid in full upon completion as were our agreed terms. However, we cleaned up the residual mess and I made all fixes required at our expense using lessons learned as this experience's best value. Given our disappointing overall experience I've offered a "C" rating.

Everything was great! I originally called them for a quote for gutters. When Doug came to give me the quote, I happened to asked him about my windows too. He was great and worked with me so I was able to do both! They did an awesome job! The installers were friendly, professional, quick and efficient. Mindy in the office is friendly and knowledgeable and I enjoyed working with her. When it’s time for my next project I will definitely be calling them.

Very well!. On time for estimate, delivery of windows was earlier than promised ( which was good) and installation went very smoothly in one day.

The installation was performed by a specialist in window replacement that was very professional, courteous and responsive.

Had window installed in July, and front and back doors, storm and security, installed in august. Saw immediate results with AC. The living room was cool and the AC not running all the time. Doug and Mindy were very pleasant, professional, easy to talk with and answered all of our concerns. Lee and his crew were professional and cleaned up after themselves, they worked like they were working on their own home, very refreshing! We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them. I am writing now because I wanted to wait till the cold weather came. I have to say, we really love the window and doors! Our heat is set at 68 and that is where it stays without the heat running all the time or the need to wear a sweater. There used to be a difference of 6 degrees between living room and the next level of the house, which was only 5 steps. Now the temp is equal thru out the house! Thank you so much guys! When we called for estimate to replace our bay window, Doug was quick to come out, was very informative about his products, and was able to answer any of our questions. Mindy was a joy to speak with when it came to schedule appointments and was on top of things when coordinating everything. The window that we needed replaced, was not installed correctly, therefore making it challenging to figure out the measurements. Doug and Lee came out a couple of times to be sure of the correct measurements. Which made me believe they were on top of things and making sure everything would go smoothly when it came to the installation. And it did, the window was installed in a day. The crew was professional, courteous, and had a lot of respect for our home. Everything was cleaned up when they were done. We really LOVE the window, can't stop looking at it! We would highly recommmend them as we are using them again shortly for some more work. We even had a neighbor stop by and comment on how nice the window was!

Extremely professional and accommodating.

The installer used termite infected wood underneath bottom sliding door track during installation. I saw the living insects but I did not know that they were termites at the time. Because the installer insisted on using them, I required to spread the wood with insect killers before the installation. That occurred in Apr 2015. Starting from last year, I had swamps of termites flying out the little gaps of the door track. After failing to kill the termites through the tiny gaps by myself last year, I have to pay big money this year to hire termite company to treat the whole house to prevent the spread. In the meantime, due to miscommunication, Doug came today to my house to cut a piece of aluminum threshold outside of my sliding door, even though it was obvious without the need of cutting that I had PVC material installed outside sliding the door, and thus could not be the source of the termite infection. Now I have a door with ugly cutting outside and the termite infected wood underneath the track. And I am told to pay them more money to fix the problems that they created in the first place. This is a total nightmare. To work this company, you have to be super vigilant. I regret that I did not stop the installation when they insisted on putting the infected wood. I also regret to trust their knowledge that they could distinguish wood from PVC material.

It was a pleasure to work with these people. They were very professional and went above and beyond what they needed to do. I would use them again and also will recommend them to friends and family.

Installation was smooth. Windows look great , patio doors are beautiful ! Will hire them again to replace the rest of my windows.

Work was performed well and our sun room looks great. Since we replaced a single pane glass with the more energy efficient dual pane glass, we can stay longer in the sun room even during the peak summer.
