everything went smoothly. they worked within our budget and contacted in a timely manner when there was a delay in the installation due to bad weather. when we need to replace the rest of our windows, we will call them first.

It was a challenging job & took a while to complete (about a week?) but it is a very sturdy structure & has held up very well. Because of the dimensions (short but wide) the gentlemen really had to build it from scratch, but you would never know to look at it. They did a very professional job & my window is beautiful!

The installers were courteous, but the job was not the best and was not completed. Rather, they said they couldn't finish because the end result wouldn't have been right, but told me what "I" should do.

Universal Windows was found on Angie's List and after getting other quotes, was chosen to install replacement windows at a home owned by our church and used to house homeless families and "Sandy Relief" workers. UWD was chosen for the job because the owner, Doug Conner, was knowledgeable, personable and took the time to explain which windows would be best for our needs. Working within a budget supplied by grant money, we started out replacing only 5 windows, 3 being egress. When Doug found out what the the house was being used for, he replaced all 17 windows and made them all egress to look uniform. He did this at only his cost (not making any profit), and therefore keeping us within our budget! When asked why he did this, he said his conscience told him to. It's nice to know some people still have a conscience, especially in the sales field. Words can not express how overwhelmed we were by this gesture. The windows were installed on schedule by Ed and his assistant. They were great! Ed was very learned and friendly, even offering advice on other things that needed to be addressed at the house. The whole job was done neatly and efficiently within 6 hours. Ed was later hired by our church to do some trim work - again great and reasonably priced. Our committee was so pleased with the windows that we decided to have an open house and invited the entire congregation and the grant people to see the new windows. The windows are now about 9 months old, and we are still so pleased with the look and quality of them. They made such a difference to the groups living at our church home through this long, cold winter, and such a difference in our heating bills. We feel that we got so much more than we paid for. Doug is a very generous, caring man who did more for us than we ever expected, and our church can not thank him enough. He not only provided us with wonderful windows, but his customer service skills are excellent, even taking time to write us a thank you note! I'm sorry it took so long to do the same. I believe in "paying it forward" and am telling everyone about Doug and UWD. I would not hesitate to use UWD again, in fact I just contracted them to do a new front door in my own home - review to follow, (hopefully won.t take me a year). They were very prompt and the product seems to be a good quality. They did good work so I would recommend them.

It was a very good experience, I called every single company to get an estimate, from Renewal by Andersen (24K for the same job) to Castle Windows (horrible experience by the way). They gave me a good price for the composite windows that they offer (their vinyl are not bad), but the composite are better for sure. Installation was great, quick and a teaching experience. I also hope if I ever have a problem with the windows ( I hope not), they will be there as they said. I recommend this company to anyone

I am getting quotes to fix the glass. If I needed replacements windows, they would definitely have gotten the job.

The salesman provided a lot of good information and although, originally, the price was over my budget, the company worked with me on the price. The installers were efficient, helpful, and friendly, completing the job within 6 hours. And they cleaned up afterwards, which is a rarity with any contractor I've ever worked with previously! They accept credit cards. I'm delighted with the result and I would definitely use this company again.

John Heinz spent about 1 1/2 hours at our condo desribing the details of the replacement windows and doors. Once the decision was made John came to my office for me to sign the agreement. Mindy immediately faxed the certificate of insurance to the condo association for the board of trustees to approve the replacements. Mindy called about a week before to schedule the installation. Joe Markey and Marvin arrived early in the morning on the scheduled day and had the old windows out in no time. By mid-afternoon the installation was complete and everything looked great. It poured the next day and I called the tenant to make sure nothing leaked, everything was fine. I was very impressed with John, Mindy, Joe and Marvin's professionalism and courteousness. They were all wonderful and I would definitely use Universal Windows from Fords, NJ for my own home.

This review is long overdue and I apologize. Doug came to give us an estimate. He was very pleasant and explained everything. He called us immediately when he found out that the job would be delayed because the window with with the mini blinds would be a special order due to the size as it was not a standard size. His guys came to install the windows. They were professional, quick and didn't leave a mess. Doug stopped by later in the day to see how the windows looked and to ask if we were satisfied. We were! The windows look great and I'm very happy to have a bay window now. I noticed a little crack in the vinyl on one of the windows and called them. They have been trying to come back to put some liquid vinyl but our schedule has not allowed the time. I will be using them again to replace my sliding door in the kitchen later this year.

After much research and comparison of vinyl replacement window manufacturers & contractors, I chose Universal Windows to replace all the windows and a 9ft. sliding glass patio door in my home. From my initial call to Doug I found him to be knowledgeable and polite, answering all my questions and describing the product in terminology I could understand. The next day he came out with a sample window and presented a demonstration of its features and performance within different temperature settings. The project was estimated to take 4-6 weeks however Doug?s commitment to homeowner satisfaction was evident in his actions as he accommodated my request for an earlier completion date in order to have the windows installed before my birthday. He remained closely involved overseeing the project which took just 3 weeks from start to finish. The quality of work performed was top notch and the installers had an excellent work ethic: professional, courteous, strong safety orientation, emphasizing getting the work done right rather than doing it fast, and most important they were respectful of my property keeping the work area clean and removing all debris. There were no hidden costs, extra expenses or unpleasant surprises. As a homeowner and customer, I felt Doug delivered exactly what he had promised, at the agreed upon price. I paid the price quoted on the Contract. Furthermore, living in an Adult Community there was not one single neighbor complaint! Instead three different neighbors passed on compliments about the work crew (e.g., ?those guys really work hard?). Lastly, I want to mention that the job was finished the first week of November 2013 but I waited to write my review in order to validate the functionality of the product and confirm that my investment was well worth it, and it is! I believe exceptional work should be recognized, and I am extremely pleased with the final result. I recommend Dough and Universal Windows without any reservations.

Installation was done in one day to my total satisfaction. The price of job was excellent compared to other vendors.

Doug came out to see about our windows. He gave us a price that we couldn't replace. We replaced 12 windows. Installation was perfect. A pleasure to do business with.

The guy came, saw and was supposed to get back to me. He didn't bother. He didn't give a quote or tell me if he would do the job. No follow up.

They showed up when they said they were. They were prompted, professional, courteous and neat. Their work was all quality. (I have a neighbor who is a retired inspector and very critical, but he was very impressed with their work and praised it.) I am very happy with my purchase. It feels great to have work done and then feel completely satisfied when it's over. I did have many estimates and decided on Universal Windows because of the friendly, professional manner and excellent price for quality all around.

I have a very good experienced with Universal Windows Direct, from the moment I scheduled an appointment with Doug who is punctual and very professional as we discussed all the work to be done in my house which is 11 Double hung windows , Fiberglass Main Door with Side Lite and a Bay Window, and he provided me the best price at the same time. I can feel Doug honesty and his sincerity so I decided to call him two days later to accept his estimate. He came to my house to formally present the estimate and for me to sign the contract. Then Ed who is also a very nice and very professional called me to schedule the measurement and about 4 weeks later Ed and his assistant came to install the Bay Window and the Fiberglass Main Door with Side Lite . They came back the next day and install the 11 Windows. There are few bumps with the installation but Ed and his assistant (I?m sorry I did not catch his name because he is the one who is working outside the house) handled everything professionally, they did a very good job , installing and also cleaning the area after work. Eveything that Doug promised to me is done. My wife and I are very happy and saitisfied with their work and I definitely recommend this honest and courteous group of people. I wish them well to be more successful in their business.

Came over to verify window that needed to be replaced/ordered. Recieved the replacement window 5 weeks later which was a long time I thought but I believe the wait was on the manufacturer side, not the installer. Installed the window in less than 1hr and was very courteous throughout the process.

This was the best experience I ever had with a contractor. Doug (owner) was extremely professional, as was his staff. He kept all his commitments; always responded on time; and his customer service was perfect. He not only followed up during the installation but followed up afterwards to ensure our satisfaction. His staff were clean, courteous and a pleasure to work with. We received three estimates and decided to go with Doug because of the quality of his windows, the price and because of Doug. I highly recommend Universal Windows!

I had a appointment for 1pm and got a call about an hour before the appointment notificing me that they were not going to be able to come until 3pm. At first I said alright but then I called back and said nevermind because I had other things to do and I had waited around all morning I recieved no explaination of why they would have to late.

From start to finish the process with universal windows was excellent. Doug came out as planned and on time. It was a no pressure sales pitch. We spoke to at least five contractors and Doug won the business because of his follow up and eagerness to do the job. Ed came out to measure and as promised, within 5-6 weeks, the windows arrived. Ed came promptly at 8am on instal day with his worker and was finished by 1pm. They cleaned up and it was as if they were never here! Windows look great and we will definitely use this company again for future needs.

Doug was extremely courteous and worked with me to get the best pricing available. I also received a Thank You note the day after our first consultation, before I had decided to use his services. Once we confirmed the order, the same person who would be completing the install came to measure the windows. I like that we dealt with the same people each time and did not have to work through a third-party. When we needed a door latch adjusted and some caulk fixed, it was once again the lead installer who came to address these concerns. This was a very easy, hassle free experience and the new windows and doors are excellent. I would have no hesitation referring Doug and his company's services to my friends and family.

I had a in home appointment, with the sales person from Universal Windows Dough. He was on time and provided me with a very professional presentation. Universal Windows performed the installation of nine relpcement windows in my home. Their work was high quality, neat and professional. Their service was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

Everyone did a great job from the initial estimate to the installation. The installation took place about three weeks after we placed the order which was about a week ahead of schedule. The installers were very professional and did a quality job. We haven't needed any adjustments since the windows were installed. The price we paid was equal to the estimate, no surprises.
