With 100% respect, I think that there may be some honest confusion between us and another provider. One of the reasons behind this, of course, is that some of the information is inaccurate. Another reason is just the sheer time it has been since service and this review being made, and it is easy to confuse details of different services in 3 years time. First and foremost, the homeowner did not spend more than the deal. I verified their address, and it was just the deal and nothing else. We can prove this unequivocally. In fact, I was able to verify we did do two homes, and in both cases, a deal was purchased and redeemed and not a penny was paid over the deal price for the gutter cleaning. In regards to the securing of the gutter at the second house, we did do a 35 ft secure for $140. For that $140, we drill through the fascia and rafter tails, use a 7 inch gutter screw every 2 feet. That is 16 screws. Now, we didn't do the whole house, and when one area starts to pull away, other areas will eventually do the same quickly, sort of like having one tire that needs replacement first, and the the others follow shortly after. I can only imagine that what the homeowner experienced is the gutter pulling away from a different area because (1) we used way more screws that homeowner listed (2) if there was actually an issue with the word we did, one of the things paid for in that $140 repair is a 3 year guarantee, and the homeowner knows this because it was printed right on the invoice. This means that if there actually was an issue with our work, one call would have us back out for free to redress and redo. Most likely, the nails holding up the gutter probably started pulling away from another side of the house. Now, as far as all the plants dying, there are two things I want to point out. First, what we do with the debris is limited by what the homeowner has allowed to collect, and what the homeowner will allow us to do. If you get the gutters cleaned every 6 months, the debris is in solid leaf form, and is easy to manage and clear. If you get the gutters cleaned only once every 1-3 years, the debris is decayed into clumps of dirt and mush, and when it blows out, it falls directly down and there is little we are able to affectively clean up with a blower. This isn't our fault; you just can blow dirt with a leaf blower. The longer you go between cleanings, the more dirt there is and the more it decays down. Also, the debris, as it decays, looses the acid that is actually good for the ground. This means that where if falls, in which case we can't blow it because it's just fine dirt, it has no good nutrients for the ground. We can bag debris, but the homeowner didn't select that option, so all we can do is blow the debris around the existing present trees and bushes, and if the debris is greatly decayed, we can't blow much at all. Being mad at us for something like this is similar to being mad at a dentist because you have a cavity. When you let your cleanings go, there are negative results to the system. It was most likely the wait of all that decayed dirt through the years that caused the gutters to pull away at the other house. The other thing in regards to these cleanings is when they were done. The cleanings were done at the budding or spring or the middle of summer when the pollen and sun and rain are nurturing and life giving. Both cleanings took place on 12/3/12. We had a snow and ice storm 6 weeks after that cleaning. Guess what, my plants died 6 weeks after this customer got their cleaning too, and I didn't even get a cleaning done. My neighbors plants died too, no cleanings as well. If only I could figure out what killed all these plants that happened to coincide around winter, and a winter storm no less. Alas, this aspect of the review may remain a mystery forever. Humor aside, you can't skip gutter cleanings without getting just tons of dirt with no where to put it, you can't have plants die during winter and winter storms and blame something else, way more screws were used and length of gutter done that the customer described, and not a penny was paid more for either cleaning that the cost of the deals. I have no idea why this review comes 3 years later, and why the inconsistencies. Please look at all our other reviews to get a more accurate depiction of our service. Thank you
