John's masons not only replaced the fallen stones, but they also walked around the perimeter of the library and tapped all of the stones to see if there were any other loose ones. There were and there were promptly repaired. The men showed up on time and did an excellent job.

We are extremely satisfied with the quality of work, the time in which the work was done, and the expertise and professionalism of owner John McGowan and his crew. The cost of the job was very reasonable, considering the work that needed to be done. The old walkway was breaking up and becoming dangerous to walk on, John’s crew had to break up 3 layers of old concrete and they worked very hard to accomplish this in one day. The forms were put in same day making it ready for concrete pouring the next day. The crew was always on time, worked hard and kept everything moving, John was on site both days working with his crew. He adjusted the walkway to be flush with the patio, which it wasn’t originally, and he also took the extra step to very slightly angle the walk so water would move away from the house. This was a plus since we always get a little water in the basement. John also filled in all openings around the outside of the walk when it was completed with dirt so the walk was level with the lawn around it. The job was completed on time and everything was cleaned up well. Everything went smoothly, even the weather cooperated! I would definitely recommend John’s company if you need any concrete work done and we will use his company again for any future work we need done.

John and his team at Westview did a fantastic job. I was very pleased. They resurfaced and repaired 2 concrete steps which were falling apart and in horrible condition. After John and his crew were done the steps now look brand new! The team was able to start the project within a few days after promptly receiving an estimate. The crew worked two full days to complete the work. The crew was very professional, courteous and organized. When the work was completed they cleaned the worksite and left it exactly as it was before they arrived. Great work all round. I will be using Westview for all of my future masonry needs.

Everything went well. The owner, John, and his crew were punctual, professional, and courteous. I had other comparable estimates, but I went with John because of the Angie's List reviews.

We were getting water in the crawl space, but I didn't want a sump pump. After discussing the problem Westview Masons tackled the problem from the outside of the foundation. Excavating and exposing the foundation, using tar and a rubber membrane, and back filling the area. Problem solved. Their price was fair and they did excellent work. We have already booked them for a second job.

Westview Masons arrived as promised, removed the back steps and removed all the debris. They replaced the steps and surrounding patio area . It looks great and we are very pleased with their work.

Once we were able to set the actual work start date, everything went wonderfully. The workers were polite, skilled, and neat. We are very happy with the outcome.

John was very responsive to my call and came to give me an estimate which was very fair. He came the night before the job was to take place and did an hour's prep work with two of his crew. He and his crew were punctual and efficient. John warned me that the jack hammering would be noisy for a few hours and I went across the street to the neighbor"s. The crew laid drop cloths from the front door through the kitchen to the basement door. John said it would take that one day to complete and he was right. They arrived at 8:30 and were done by 4:30. The crew had to dismantle a bookshelf from the cedar closet to get in there to work and then had to carry many books to the other end of the basement. They put the bookshelf in the laundry area of the basement where it can be used for my laundry supplies. They were professional, punctual and did a great job. The next day we had heavy rains and the basement was dry. I would highly recommend John McGowan and his crew of Westview Mason and Waterproofing.

John from Westview was recommended to me I was getting a lot of water coming in from the sub basement and flowing into the finished part of the basement John looked at the situation and suggested a French drain around the perimeter, with a pump connected to the drain pipes outside. He also installed a new pump in the finished part of the basement . John gave me an estimate a lot less than another waterproofing company , that was going to do the same thing. I asked him when he could start he told me the end of the week. It would take 2 days Two days later, the job was complete. My only problem was getting him back so I could pay him. After he walked me through everything he had done. I paid him and there was a big rain that night . Not a drop of water came into the finished part of the basement. Even the subbasement, on the otherside of the drain was dry. The man and his services are great . I highly recommend him.

The service was Excellent. John McGowan and his workers arrived on time, dismantled the top layer of pavers, placed them in order on the side so that they would go back in the exact order, poured the cement, repacked the interior, leveled the top of the stoop so that rain would run off from the house to the front of the stoop, cemented in the bordering edge paver that fell off, replaced the interior pavers, then added a mixture in the spaces between the pavers that would hold them in place (instead of just using sand.), they wet down the pavers to activate the mixture, swept the area, and even cleaned the street where they had done some prep work. They left it immaculate shape, and the stoop looks better than when it was originally built. Total time was about 3 hours work. Both my husband and I were very impressed by the professional attitude and work of John and his crew. We plan to use him again in the future for some work in our basement.

I was amazed, considering the rain/water blew around in all directions on the outside. I needed a similar job done at another house. The walls in the basement were bad. Plaster chipping and it had been neglected for a bit. John and his team came in, leveled out the walls and sanded/evened them out. Filled in the plaster and then dry locked the walls. I took before and after pictures and you would never recognize the old basement (THATS A GOOD THING). John is very customer service oriented. Tells it like it is. Let's face it. I am picky when it comes to contractors. If I like someone, YOU don't have to do the homework. I showed the house to a few friends and neighbors and the first thing they said was - "give me this guy's card."

John returned my initial call promptly; we met at my house to discuss the job; during my basement evaluation, he pointed out an is- sue regarding the foundation/floor and block wall which I never noticed. He told me how he would do the job and how long it would take to complete. Arrived on time, set up of tarps in basement to keep dust in area were well put. Completion of job and cleanup went well. Some water from rain events entered my basement and went right to drain. Would recommend John and crew

John McGowan was very responsive to my inquiry about replacing my steps and walkways. He looked at the job and gave me an estimate right away. I accepted the estimate. He gave me a timetable for the job and kept to it. I did this long distance from California and he kept me posted by phone while the job was being done. Family in NJ tell me he did a good job. He removed all the debris and put up barrier tape to keep the kids off the new cement on Halloween and came back to remove the tape later. I would use Westview Masons and Waterproofing again and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs masonry or cement work done.

Workers worked diligently and quickly and precisely. Work was completed in one day.

Hire Westview masons to install a french drain and sump pump along one wall of my basement and pour a small concrete slab on brick patio. From the start, the owner provided a quick estimate, and understood what I wanted done without offering a more expensive solution which I didn't need based on a structural engineer's report. The next week the workers show up, did the work, and now just waiting for heavy rain storm to see how well the system performs.

John sticks to his estimates and schedule and does high quality work. Everything still looks beautiful to this day and the drains and sump pumps solved my basement water problem and have never let me down after many years. Highly recommended!

They were very nice and punctual. However, they were a little pricey.

I really liked John McGowen. His estimate was fair and his work was professional and in my opinion, first - rate. My only complaint was that I had trouble getting a definite start date from him--however when they did come-they were fantastic. Prompt, courteous, clean and they did absolutely everything we spoke of. The work exceeded my expectations!

The front landing wasn't pitched properly and rainwater pooled even with the slightest rain. We obtained several estimates for this job (some written; others verbal). The estimates varied slightly in both scope of work and pricing. We chose this company for the accurate description of how the job would be tackled and for pricing. Once the job was scheduled, the workers arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and worked straight through for seven hours on a very hot day. Two days after the landing was re-pitched, we had a torrential rainstorm that put the job to the test. We were very happy to see no more water pooling on the landing! The railing was re-installed a couple of days after that. Overall, it was a positive experience from start to finish. We will use this company again in the future.
