Mr. Bosco built a beautiful deck for our home. We are so grateful. He is very professional and knowledgable. He always answers his calls. He helped us in choosing the material and color of the deck. He started the work on time as he promised without any delay. The workers came on time and worked very hard. Every aspect of the job was handled with care and attention to detail. Phil and his the guys who did the work did a fantastic job repairing and sprucing up my family's giant backyard wooden deck. They were detail oriented, diligent workers, tidy, offered smart suggestions, very friendly and communicative. My elderly dad, who is NOT a man who is easy to please, and who proudly built the original deck himself many decades ago, commented that Samson did a far better job than he ever could have.

When we moved in to our house our deck was in poor repair and frankly, unsafe. Phil’s team completely reinforced the frame, and rebuilt the railings and floor, moving the staircase for better traffic flow. The work was so high quality and the new deck is beautiful. In addition, Phil was incredibly responsive over email and his team worked efficiently to complete the job quickly and left the job site clean and tidy. I look forward to completing additional projects with Samson in the future.

Project went as well as it could and end result came out great. Phil and his team completed the job quickly and when there were changes to discuss because of some issues with the design plans he brought to our attention so that we could decide on how we wanted to proceed. The steps came out great, the design looks great and the installed lights add a very professional look. Overall we are very happy with the steps and would work with Samson Contracting again.

The work was completed according to the contract & deck was built exactly according to plan. The workers were punctual, professional, courteous & very skilled. Debris was removed daily from the work site. We were very happy with the completed deck. It was a pleasure working with the owner of this company & we highly recommended him.

Phil & Julio were amazing and did a fantastic job! Easy to communicate with, cost-conscious where they could be, always will to answer our questions and come to the house on a moments notice if we needed something. They went out of there way to help make some customizations to the vanity we bought. Even after we had paid in full and the job was done, they still came back to install one more thing that was an afterthought. Julio who was in our home for 3-4 weeks, was also extremely respectful our home and our family life, even showing concern for the family cats when the door needed to be propped open for delivery. This is the second project Samson Contracting has worked with us on, a few years ago it was a deck. I would recommend them to anyone and hire them again for sure.

I am so happy I found Phil and his crew! They are reliable, trustworthy and their work is top notch. We hired Phil last summer to rebuild our back porch and we couldn’t be happier with how it came out. This summer we hired Phil to replace basement windows, dywall, build a basement door and a garage door and more to help us get our house ready for sale, and again their work was superb. Phil communicates very well and was flexible with my ever growing list of projects. Phil goes the extra mile — he even went out of his way to help me locate, purchase and install a hard to find part for my refrigerator handle (saving me a ton of money from the appliance repair in the process). You can’t go wrong hiring Phil.

Could not have hired a better contractor! From the first meeting to the very end of the job we were so happy with the whole experience. Our deck looks beautiful and is perfectly crafted. receiving so many compliments and neighbors are asking for his number.. Would hire him for any other work to be done on my house. A good pick!

My wife and I spent nearly a year looking for someone to build our new deck, only to be let down by multiple companies. While visiting various hardware stores in the area I kept receiving the same recommendation, Samson Contracting. After getting the runaround from so many others, Phil came out quickly and sent a quote immediately. Within 2 weeks of first contacting him we have our new deck. Phil and his crew were prompt and professional throughout the process. Each day they arrived on time and worked a full day. All questions were answered and each step of the process was explained. The worksite (our backyard) was kept neat and they respected our property. The quality of the work was top notch. There is no doubt that these guys are professionals. Phil kept us up to date on the schedule and what each step would entail. Over the years we have suffered through multiple unreliable contractors, making many projects stressful. This was the complete opposite. Samson's professionalism allowed us to be confident that the job was being done right. The result is a beautiful and high quality deck that we will enjoy for many years. Maybe the biggest compliment I can give is that we have already hired them for another job.

Samson obtained all the necessary construction permits and the finally inspections/sign-offs from the local authorities went very well. Julio and staff were very careful not to damage and clean the surrounding areas during/after each construction day and paid very close attention to all construction details. Time frame was around 10 weeks from demolition to a fully operational kitchen which was excellent even with some material delays. The door installations were painstakingly done to insure that all doors closed/opened properly. The pavers in the top landing at the main entrance had shifted and were loose. Phil and his guys did an excellent and quick repair. I am extremely satisfied with all the construction work performed by Samson Contracting and will definitely use them on any future home projects.

The job went well and pretty much on target with completion date. It did rain a lot so that delayed the work a bit. Overall, it was a pleasure having Samson Contracting build our deck. The workers were professional, kind and sensitive to our needs. They went above and beyond in cleaning up and power washing the deck and removal of all garbage! We would definitely hire Samson again for our future projects! They exceeded more than our 100% satisfaction.

Phil and his crew are awesome! We had a support beam in a small room off the basement that had started to bow due to renovations from the previous owner. We knew it would be an issue in the future at sometime when we bought the house and that time had come almost a year ago and its taken that long to find a good contractor. I initially called two that our engineer had recommended but one never showed for an estimate and was rude when I called him out and the other came and gave an estimate but never came back to do the work. Fast-forward 9 months and our second child and we were ready for the work again. Logged back on to Angie's List on March 1st and found Samson Contracting. I loved that the review were greta and Phil was local. I gave him a call and he was at my house 10 minutes later. He was very friendly when he arrived and took the time to go over everything that would be needed to do the repair the right way. The estimate was emailed to me the next day and I agreed to the work and mailed the check the next day. He said it would be a couple of weeks and true to his word he arrived the morning of March 22nd and started all the work. The original beam was not placed in the correct position to provide support to the above floor joists, so Phil removed the beam, jacked up the floor slightly to correct any sagging, then put a few 2x6 beams across the span of the room , centered correctly as well, and supported said beam with two equip-distant wooden posts. His crew took care of all the sheetrock removal and reapplying, taping, sanding and painting for both the beam and posts, but the other wall that was damaged from an old leak. The work took a total of four days and my wife and i are beyond happy. No more plastic tarp on the way down to the basement and the repairs in the small room look like they were there the whole time. Our kitchen floor is even level again! I would not hesitate to use Phil and everyone from Samson Contracting again and you won't be disappointed if you do as well.

Samson Contracting did an outstanding job with our bathroom renovation. It was on schedule, on budget, and we're thrilled with the results! On the strong recommendation of a couple of our neighbors who had used Samson in the past, we've continued to hire them over the years for a wide variety of home improvement jobs - from extensive masonry work (our home's front and rear stone steps and slate patio) to plaster wall repair, etc. - and they've become our go-to contractor for most every contracting or handyman need one can imagine. Owner Phil Bosco and his team take great pride in their work and they continue to surprise us with remarkable craftsmanship and professionalism, time-after-time. They're knowledgeable, trust-worthy, and easy to work with. And they're also in demand so you had better book them sooner than later! Frankly, you?d be hard pressed to find a better and more reasonably priced general contractor in the Northern Bergen County area.

Phil is outstanding. As someone who was once a licensed contractor I can say he does it right. First, he comes when he says he will. Then he stays until the job is done and doesn't leave you hanging. Third, his work is impeccable. He and his guys are perfectionists and it shows. Ipe is hard to work with, and not only was every end sealed and every piece screwed in with stainless steel screws, they countersink every fastener and then cover each one with a plug. It is architectural furniture and really looks gorgeous. On the mundane roofing stuff, our house is a 100 year old stone house and fixing the issues was not as simple as putting in some new wood and gutters. The job was done perfectly and persistent moisture issues were all resolved. Phil and his guys are cheerful, honest, and they work very clean. No mess is left around and each day they clean up. I wish I had more work for them to do, and if we decide to renovate our bathroom he will be the guy. As to price, I don't negotiate price . But it was very fair. Quality and reliability are paramount to us and you get what you pay for. Phil and his team are terrific.

Phil is a fantastic contractor! A Godsend actually. I had interviewed several contractors for the job. This was a very difficult, challenging project that all of the other contractors did not want to take on. It involved significant poured concrete foundation modification work in a very tight space. After reviewing my plan for the space, Phil responded with, "no problem". He and his team were excellent workmen. Phil has a great sense for construction and what is the best way to approach a structural challenge. He was always right. Always on time, always left after cleaning the area, and delivered a most excellent outcome of very high quality. When needed, Phil brought in similarly, reliable and excellent subcontractors. His fees were exactly what he proposed and were appropriate for the job. Look no further, this is the guy you want on your next home improvement project!

The work of Phil Bosco and Julio of Samson Contracting is outstanding. It was truly a pleasure to work with Phil from the start. He made the process extremely easy for my husband and myself. His estimate was straightforward and our budget stayed on track through the entire process. He gave us a timeline of about two weeks and even pushed to complete the job in time for our daughter's graduation party, arriving earlier and staying much later then originally anticipated.
