It was okay until after he showed up to see what needed to be done. He left saying that he would get back to me with an estimate the next day. It has been 2 weeks, and I did not hear a word.

The Gas Line to the pool heater, was expensive, but all in all they did a good job. The guys were punctual and neat. Everything was professionally done and looks good and seems to be working properly (it was installed this winter, so i haven't kicked on the heater yet other than to test it). When they initially hooked up the pool heater gas line, it wasn't working properly, so i called PSE&G and they came out and fixed the issue that pipe works said they couldn't fix. Not sure this was something they could have diagnosed and fixed, but giving them the benefit of the doubt, they did a good job running and installing the line. Although, I do have rust all over the black pipe they ran, which they said they would paint to avoid from happening. They did spray it with Black paint, but obviously something cheap that looks good day one only. The bigger problem i have with this company and why such a bad review, was when i recently called them back to hook up my BBQ to the gas line that was previously ran. The price quoted was threw the roof. Mind you, the gas line is there, the bbq and side burner are also installed. The gas line is sitting directly below the built in grill. Again, the tech shows up, looks at the job, asks a few questions and says he needs to call in to get me pricing. $916!!!! This is after he tells me it is maybe a 2 hour job, the BBQ comes with the regulator and most of the other parts, so besides some flex pipe and shut off valve, i have everything already. After telling him, are you crazy, he calls office and they lower it $200. That quick. Again, at that point still not worth $700, i told him thanks, but no thanks. With less than $100 in material, they are looking to charge $300 per hour, not to mention initially charging $400 per hour. On top of already using them on a $3,000 plus gas line for the pool job. Really? What kind of business are they running. Besides the pricing is way over the top, they dropped it $200, meaning, lets just see how much this schmuck will pay. Another case of a contractor looking to charge Sky High Prices because you have nice things... BTW - Found a plumber to install it for $250 plus $100 for material!!!!

It was good. Everything is working great. They called back to follow up and came back right away when they had to check something.

Called and set up an appointment on the second day. Jim arrived on time and was professional. He inspected the situation and gave me a quote of $420. I agreed, not really knowing how much work is involved. And then he was done in 30 minutes. He simply removed failed water delivery arm and installed new delivery arm with escutcheon. He also recaulked existing valve escutcheon. I appreciate the proficiency of the technician, but I thought the charge is too high for amount of labor and parts.

When I mentioned that the price was too high he understood completely and left no hard feeling, but it was just a waste of time.

There turned out to be complications with our main shutoff valve that would ultimately result in our having to pay for external drilling. Very expensive. Pipeworks warned of possible explosion if repair not done asap. When I told this to the condo association, they advised me to get a second opinion. Plumber #2 gave identical prognosis but was not nearly as alarmist. Also gave a much more reasonable estimate for the same work. Both plumbers knew we planned to put our place on the market and would be moving soon, but Pipeworks succeeded in scaring and upselling me. I think they do excellent work, but they seem to induce worry so you'll pay (much) more.

Within the past couple of months I have needed an Electrician on two occasions. I used Pipeworks for some plumbing issues and found they also have electricians. Ryan was assigned the job both times and he was the ideal Professional. He took the time to answer every question I had about both jobs. On one of the jobs (a follow up to a heating unit installation) he even identified an area that did not live up to his expectations and he had the HVAC team come back and fix it. If anyone ever asks for an electrician recommendation -- he's the one I would recommend without hesitation.

Terribly. Two months later the drain is slow again. I called to arrange an appointment and was told there would be a $59 charge to come out. To look at the work you just did that needs to be redone? After a bit of back and forth the rep said that if the visit was related to the last service work done they would waive it. Tech arrived late and after confirming I had galvanized pipes (which of course were the same pipes from 2 months ago) stated that they can't guarantee drain cleanings on galvanized pipes, so he would have to charge me another $200, but for only $29 more, he would add a "proprietary" enzyme product! After I told him I was not going to pay another $200+ for him to re-do the work he just did, he called the office and was able to get them to credit $100 off the $259 cost of the drain cleaning and enzyme treatment. So that would mean I was into this drain cleaning for $359 and they STILL wouldn't guarantee it would stay clear for any period of time - not 30 days, not even a week. With the expression "throwing good money after bad" coming to mind, I asked the technician to leave. When I called the office to register my displeasure, having had Pipeworks replace both my water heater and my furnace as well as various other plumbing repairs on my house (I would estimate I've spent $6,000+ with them) they reluctantly agreed to have someone come back out and clear the drain for no charge. They will be back in a week so we will see how it goes.

Fine. Their prices are so high. We may use someone else next time. Hate to do it because their service is so great.

Although Pipe Works was prompt, professional and knowledgeable, their main objective seems to be up-selling their customers on a slew of unnecessary services and warranties. My problem was simple: the circulator pump on the boiler died and heat was no longer being circulated through the house. After 10 minutes of Google research, it became clear that the cost of a pump is roughly $100 from a local plumbing store and the labor would take 1 hour, give or take. When their plumber showed me a menu of pricing, in descending order from "Platinum" through "Band Aid", I was immediately suspicious. Each package included a variety of warranties, service offerings and safety packages. There could be some need for those offerings, but to me it seems like a way of taking advantage of their customer's ignorance and desperate need to regain their homes heat. Bottom line: 1) they charge a $96 fee for each 30 minutes needed to diagnose the problem. 2) If I signed on with Pipe Works to fix this pretty routine issue I would have spent $1,060 on their "band aid" package, and as much as $2,900 on their Platinum Package. 3) I instead used a recommended local plumber who fixed my problem for grand total of $255, labor and parts included. I wouldn't suggest Pipe Works, ever.

The new controller was ordered in early December, and with the holidays, it took a while to get the part and schedule the 2-3 hours in the home. With operation now for 24 hours, it is working much better than the old controller, and is keeping the temperatures in the 3 zones where they need to be. The installer was neat and professional, and prompt. He also changed my humidifier pad at no charge. I've used PipeWorks for about 6 years and they are very responsive. I initially contacted them when I had a washer flood that overflowed into the furnace (!) They came out very quickly late at night, helped me find a water-restoration service (blowers, etc). They very quickly replaced my furnace and A/C units. Since then I've had them do plumbing work, annual servicing of the heat/cooling systems as well. They are less expensive than one of the main plumbing companies in our area, but any plumbing/heating work is always a bit of a shock, price-wise.

I have been using them as least a couple of years.

basement had been leaking when it rained for 30 years, Outside drainage issues addressed years ago resolved some of it. Johnny D. looked at the problem for 30 minutes and declared he knew what the problem was. A sump was installed at a crucial point in the basement. Subsequent heavy rains ensued for days. No leaks, nothing. The main sewer line was fixed and now to code(!) Main breaker box was at over capacity for circuits, new one installed (to code). All work done on time and around our holiday activities. Estimates were exact, everything cleaned up, very professional and pleasant. I think that, bottom line, you could probably have gotten the work done for less, but the level of service would not be there. We have used Pipeworks for other major plumbing work and they are the best.

They were very professional, did the work in a timely manner and the cost was competitive.

PipeWorks' Chris Callan came out and was extremely professional -- quickly diagnosing a leak in a pipe leading to a toilet, explaining the scope of the issue, presenting all options and prices to me, and fixing swiftly and effectively with a replacement piece. Extras: * Chris put paper covers on his shoes before entering the house -- a respectful touch * He did a quick review of all the plumbing in my home * He patiently answered all of my questions, both about the leak and in general * He offered several protection plans, but without a hard sell * He was polite and professional to me and to me cats at all times.

EXCELLENT! Fast emergency response, great job, the best technician who ever worked here in 36 years. Clean, expert, went out of way to locate a replacement part, and fast at that.

Prompt, professional, fair, and honest. They came out right away for an estimate, and responded quickly when we had questions. They were professional and courteous on the phone, and the installation went extremely well. The entire install team was excellent; Washington (installer) and Ryan (electrician) were A++. Highly recommend and will use them again when we need work done.

Had a crack form in a pipe and called Pipe Works due to the number of high ratings on Angies List. The individuals on the phone were pleasant and professional and the gentlemen who showed up was nice and did a good job, but he didn't arrive until around 4:20 when I was told 11-2 as the arrival window. I received three calls letting me know that there would be a delay, each one pushing the time back from the last. The price was also somewhat higher than I would expect based on what had to be done. I don't mind paying a premium for a good product/service, but missing a 3 hour window by almost 2.5 hours when the customer is forced to plan their entire day around that window is not good service.

Very happy. Other plumbers couldn't figure out how to properly circumvent my new main beam which cut across the old panned joists. These guys made a custom piece out of sheet metal, moved my gas line, installed the piece, reconnected the bx to my furnace other contractors had for some reason disconnected, checked my stove and dryer after the gas line reconnect and I am very happy. They send photos of their techs in advance so you know who will arrive. Very professional and pleasant. Cost was reasonable. From diagnostics to creation of piece to installation was 5 business days. Will definitely use Pipe Works again.

This was simply put the best home repair I have ever experienced in all our years of home ownership. Everyone from the office staff, to the finance folks to the job site technicians were professional, friendly and thoroughly committed to the project. I especially want to call out: Jonathan, Jimmy, Tricia & Margie who were fantastic.

Lloyd Joseph, technician for Pipe Works showed up and did excellent work; firstly, by making me feel comfortable in knowing that I wasn't being taken for a ride, and secondly, by making me feel confident in the quality of work he would provide. He conducted a video inspection of the sewer line with drain cleaning, which entailed the removal and reset of the toilet, supplied and installed a clean out cap.

On one of the hottest days of the year, I called Pipe Works @ 6:30AM to see if/when a technician could come out to fix our A/C. Given the timing (heatwave, Friday morning, height of summer), I was not expecting to see a technician until much later in the day -- if at all. Not the case! The phone was answered promptly and I was advised a technician would call me back in 15 minutes (which they did) and the technician said he would be at our home by 8:30 (which he was). He quickly diagnosed the problems, patiently explained what needed to be done, and had our A/C back up and running within 2.5 hours. I've used Pipe Works on a number of home improvement jobs and always been impressed with the quality of their work. My experience with the A/C repair was stellar and I will gladly call them if/when a similar issue arises in the future.
